Ah wait this need for a "come down" from stimulation might explain a lot of things for me.

If I'm coming down from a long day/walk/etc. the tiredness hits me, but if I don't go to bed and fall asleep fast enough, even if I'm relaxing, then I will no longer be sleepy and will struggle to fall asleep.

So far liftoff has been my favorite and I love the ability to have multiple accounts logged in at once and the ease of browsing from different instances. The UI is nice and clear and it's my favorite from the ones I've tried. I still wanna try boost out!

Some time ago I was struggling to log into the Gino's pizza website so decided to click the "forgot my password" option. Imagine my surprise when I got an email from Gino's telling me what my password was.

I use that as exhibit A when convincing people to use a password manager.

That sounds like a great idea in the future if it becomes a possibility! We don't have assigned desks so that's not an option for me; I'd have to carry my shoes in my bag and the extra backpack weight sounds like it'd offset the foot comfort. Thanks for your response ☺️

Sometimes timers aren't enough. I set a frozen pizza in the oven, put a 7 minute timer on my Google home, but I was in the middle of a game and absent minded my turned off the alarm when it went off without realizing that the pizza was done and I need to grab it. 45 minutes later I'm wondering how long 7 minutes can truly be and why it smells like burnt pizza.

I got a little old fashioned wind up kitchen timer since the sound is different than the timer I use for anything else. Idk if it helps.

Because you're focusing on wanting to not think about it rather than focusing on observing your thoughts and details about the present moment. Thoughts will come and go, allow them to, then gently redirect yourself back to something like breathing, physical sensations, etc.

That's the gist of what's been kind of helping me the most of everything I've tried and it's quite difficult to practice and there's a lot more that goes into it (like you do have to actually challenge some thoughts) but yeah.

Yes I agree, I have been looking around at others' footwear and I do see some sneakers (though nicer cleaner looking ones than the ones I'm wearing, which aren't bad, they're solid black, but the design is very casual and sporty). For this reason I'm thinking I might look for Birkenstock boots and a pair of comfortable white sneakers. I'll look into the go walks, I like the roomier shoes! Thanks :)

Hey man idk why you're being so hostile to people responding to you, but it is the point OP is making. They're saying that ANY Linux distro, including Ubuntu, are seen as 'hipsters' to average PC users, but within the Linux community Ubuntu is very basic AKA not hipster.

Off the top of my head, the easiest analogy is that having your favorite song be Creep by Radiohead might be seen as kinda alternative/hipster to someone who listens to pop music, but to anyone in the indie community or radiohead fans, it's seen as the opposite.

Genuine question, are they not making money, or are they not making more money than they did last year? I just tend to hear that companies aren't making money when all they really mean is that profits aren't growing, but they're still making a big profit.

For me, quitting cannabis improved my condition but never got rid of it completely. It gets worse if I smoke consistently, I expect I might have been having something similar to CHES(?) (cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome or something like that) which was worsening my symptoms. It's never been as bad as it was when I was smoking, but it's never gone back to normal.

I recently watched a YouTube essay about this and completely agree. Luckily my foot isn't wide, so the shoes that I wear as my dailies don't push in my pinkie toe at all even though it doesn't have a particularly wide toe box, just a mix of soft flexible fabric and a slightly bigger size.
