What was the third thing on the list? I'm invested in your rivalry now.

Remember, the wars are fought against brown people, and US soldiers are poor people. Both of these groups are perfect raw materials for the military industrial complex to convert into profit.

Deported.

Facebook level post. If I start seeing photos of Tom Hardy or Cillian Murphy with quotes about loyalty or some other bullshit, Wayne Brady will have to choke a bitch.

I remember hearing a theory that it could have been intended as a viral marketing campaign for the remake of It. Once it started getting bad press, they gave up on the idea, but copycats kept copycatting.

No idea if there's any truth to any of that, but it seems plausible.

That's Lindsay Lohands.

Nitrogen asphyxiation has been a favoured method with the euthanasia crowd for a while now. I'm against the death penalty, but it would be one of my top three preferred ways out if I was given the choice.

It's EA, I'm surprised they're not making the minimum requirements Windows 11.

My money is on them being re-enabled after every update.

Even if it's strap-on anal? That's appalling.

Girls can't get pegged, or girls can't play Fallout?

Scraping through a website at the scale they are talking about isn't really viable. You need access to the API so that you can have very targeted requests.

This is why reddit changed their API pricing and screwed over everyone using third party apps. They can make more money selling access to LLM trainers than they could from having millions of people using apps that rely on the API.

I'll be pirating, and I haven't pirated a game in almost twenty years.

That was a couple of years ago, Vince has already forgotten.

Too many carps, you say?

Between 1980 and 2015, The catholic church paid over $275 million of compensation to victims of child sexual abuse in Australia.

In the US, they spent over $300 million on costs related to clergy abuse. In one year.

To put that into perspective, imaging earning minimum wage in the US, full time hours. Now imaging working for 50 years, saving every single cent you make. You haven't earnt enough to cover a single day of those costs.

All in all, http://www.bishop-accountability.org claim that the church has paid about $4 billion on child sexual abuse cases. This doesn't include the money they spent moving paedophiles around the world so that they can continue to abuse kids.

But we may never know how much money the church really has, because they are actively hiding assets to minimise their value, in an attempt to limit the amount they have to pay to the victims of their crimes.

From the Australian fair work ombudsmen:

When overpayments occur, the employer and employee should discuss and agree on a repayment arrangement.

If the employee agrees to repay the money, a written agreement should be made which sets out the:

  • reason for the overpayment

  • amount of money overpaid

  • way repayments will be made (for example, cash, cheque or electronic transfer) and how often (this has to be reasonable).

Granted, this is generally for overpayment of wages and not specific to redundancy pay. There may be clauses in their contracts with varying terms that allow them to reclaim, but I'm just some dude on the internet.

A lot of those shock sites were bad, but German sausage is the wurst.

I'm in Australia, and "gay panic" was still a reasonable defence in having a charge of murder downgraded to manslaughter until four years ago in my state.

I am the danger!

The collapse of Silicon Valley Bank caused a bit of a stir in the venture capital world. Things used to be able to be horrifically unprofitable for a reasonably long time before vulture capital would swoop down and tighten the thumbscrews.

Now that "normal" banks are the ones dealing with the finance side of VC, they seem to care about profits, and that if you're not squeezing every cent you can out of your investment, then it's a failure.

Or, like, whatever. Just kinda how I feel about it...

You can get thickeners for beverages, some people need them for certain conditions that make swallowing problematic!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I use Australian English, it's common for people to use either "backordered" or "on backorder" here.

Disney has been doing this for the last 80 years or so.

But then where will I get to see an overexposed background image, some all caps text, and a portrait of someone with their mouth open, all at once?

I have an Nvidia Shield running LineageOS.

The setup process wasn't too bad, but the Shield might be more money than you want to spend.

I use it for Netflix and Plex, as well as Spotify, with no problems. It tells me that Netflix is not optimised for the device, but plays fine. I've heard that Netflix may limit it to 720p, but the quality is as good as you can expect from Netflix anyway.

Plex works perfectly, can stream 4k from my media server with no issues. I will eventually transition to Jellyfin, once I convince the 4 other households that have access to my Plex library to sort themselves out.

Each window serves a different purpose, and tabs in each window are usually grouped together so that they're somewhat related.

I terminate Firefox and reopen it any time it's chewing up my RAM, but I usually don't have more than 500 tabs open at any one time. My tabs persist when Firefox starts again, but tabs don't fully load until I click on them again. This saves my memory from getting chewed up immediately, and can usually go a week or so before I need to do it again.

They said no one, not Nobody!

The chat continues on all linked devices from the point in time that they are linked.

Imagine two people having a face-to-face conversation, then a third person walks up and joins in. The third person doesn't know what was said before they joined the conversation, but all three continue the conversation from that point on.

Linked devices are like the above example, if two of those people were married and tell each other every conversation they've had since their wedding.

I'm in a pretty dark sky area in Australia, was able to make out the colours and waves / lines with the naked eye at its peak. Camera showed lush, bright reds even with about 10-15 seconds of exposure.

Sudoku! There's a few different apps on F-Droid, take your pick of the one that looks the best to you. The underlying game is the same, but some apps have different versions that add some complexity to keep you thinking.

Would that't'were so simple.
