Just to play devil's advocate, does that mean any "artist rendering" shouldn't be in a documentary? Documentaries have had drawings, with a disclaimer that it is an artist rendering, for as long as I can remember. Or what about when they hire actors to do a "dramatization" of what happened, how is this different?

Single Female Lawyer, Fighting for her client, Wearing sexy miniskirts, And being self-reliant.... hey, I'm pretty good

They just bought up the largest waterpark in Illinois..... yep, a waterpark.

The last article I read on it said they had big ideas to increase profit at the waterpark and it was something the old owners never thought of, which is to start selling alcohol. I can't imagine how much a watered down margarita at a waterpark is going to cost.

Again, how is this different from an artist rendering? There's been artists creating digital media for documentaries for a long long time.

This has me seriously considering using a company like privacy.com to just create random CC numbers per sketchy website.

I use proton coupled with my own domain and SimpleLogin (which is now merged with Proton) to create infinite custom email addresses in my domain. I then use filters to move the recipient address to folders and I can turn off one of my SL addresses if it's compromised or sold and create a new one.

Black & White. A complete remaster and expansion of the original.

I'm not sure if you meant to reply to me, but that's what I have been saying, if it says it's a rendering, I don't see how it's different.

The quote above is in my first post in this thread. And to say a human can't render as well as a machine, is arguable, but that isn't what this is about.

So again, if people are told that it's a rendering, regardless of who or what rendered it, what is the issue, and should all past documentaries with human renderings/reenactments not be called documentaries?

Knife goes in, battery comes out

Depends on where the line is as far as evil goes. Most of the popular password managers are now starting to support storing passkeys.

WD Red for data hoarding/NAS. People like Barracuda drives as well but I've had bad luck with Seagate reliability in the past.

Also, purples tend to cost more because they are rated for surveillance.

It's especially true when it comes to things like HACS. I love HA but I've also told everyone I know that, if I die, rip all that shit out and replace all the "smart" stuff with regular stuff.

I ran HA on mine for a while before I moved it to a VM. Right now I'm using my Pi as a secondary wireguard VPN in case my primary is down for some reason.

Also, quick tip, I found that ikea zigbee bulbs work really well but have really bad coil whine when off, don't use them for bedside lighting.

Mine is $30/mo for unlimited (on top of my plan cost) with my own modem.

Luckily there's a few FTTH companies that are almost done laying fiber in my area. I'm finally giving comcast the boot.

Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, such different voices that went so well together.

Gotta pay for all those sponsorship dollars they throw at streamers promoting this turd.

I wonder if you could use a VOIP number from someone like MySudo for that phone. Or just get a prepaid SIM and you'd have a number that could get the texts for activating Signal.

Please don't waste precious opalesence on him.

Most of them are dead, but Mr Burns has enough money to keep me going a while.

Piped is so slow for me, I'm not sure if it's a me issue or a host issue. I finally spun up viewtube to test it out since running my own piped instance seemed cumbersome.

I still use "We did it reddit" at least once a week, in response to someone fucking something up

I'm not sure if this post was /s or not, but ViewTube is actually pretty easy to self host if you have a docker host in your current environment. They even provide a docker compose example on the wiki.

I've been working on this for a month or two now, just steady as she goes. It's a daunting task but worth it in the end IMO.

Also, you can use proton unlimited or SimpleLogin with your own domain and you get unlimited random email addresses for accounts/email lists. it's a little more work but being able to know where the crap that ends up in my mailbox is from is priceless.

This was my first thought as well. This isn't a replacement for portainer agents on mulitple docker hosts, hopefully that's something that is doable in the future.

Not entirely, but now MS, and a lot of other companies, are pushing passkeys. I still prefer password + hardware 2fa but it's safer than people reusing the same password everywhere.

Very true, the big issue with them is a lot of popular hardware keys, including the yubikeys that I have, are limited to the number passkeys they can store (yubikey is 25 unique). Luckily password managers are starting to support them, but now you're back to having a strong password + hardware 2FA to store those passkeys anyway.

I do like TOTP or just hardware 2FA as a backup for my passkeys. What I really can't stand is sties that only offer SMS as 2FA, it makes me more angry than it probably should.

She also played Martha in Baskets, and I also thought that was her at first glance.

Don't forget cost, I'm working on replacing mine, but a 30 dollar camera now being replaced by ones that cost around 100 each is just taking time. The ones I have outdoors I don't really care about, but I'm working hard to replace all the indoor ones. For now all my indoor wyze cameras are on zigbee plugs that cut power when we're home.

Good to know, I'll check them out as well! Thank you

This is actually one of my SSIDs. FlowersByIrene

I still have both for different reasons (probably ADHD reasons), but Adguard Home Sync is easier to setup for muli instances than syncing pihole. I

You're not wrong and, to be fair, I'm mostly exaggerating when I say to rip out all the smart stuff.

Thermostat would stay, Alexa is being phased out but google home would stay, flood sensors I have at this time do not beep because of the stress is causes the pets just during normal testing, but those could be easily replaced.

However, I also have a ton of lighting, zigbee sensors, zigbee smart plugs, camera motion automations, alarm system automations, garage door automations, and other routines that can't just be taken over by someone that has no desire to mess with HA. It's not always about the functionality of the device itself, but what HA does to enhance it.

I started just with a 2 bay nas that I had a few VMs on... then it spiraled. Back with PIs were cheap it was fun to spin up new stuff all the time. Now an N100 mini-pc is way more cost effective long term, plus you get to start dipping into VMs, LXC, docker, etc.

Not to mention Home Assistant is an entire hobby in itself. 4 more aqara devices just came for me today.

I do feel like I should second the comment that it isn't cheap, but you can do things in bits and pieces that don't make it feel like you're spending your life savings.

Mine as well, i have a closet with a half rack with all my networking gear, NAS, UPS, proxmox server, etc. If I'm gone, it's time for whoever lives here to just get a combined router/modem from the ISP and call it a day.

"can't use the wiring" So in the old days they made people leave all their phones connected when they moved right? /s

Now you're talking
