The Hexbear thread on federation: https://www.hexbear.net/post/280770 -- read it yourself.

To me it reads like a plan to increase their reach with preventive instructions on how to avoid being 'influenced' by outsiders' opinions.

My guesstimation is that it is a disinformation machine based on useful idiots.

Thanks for the answer but I can only understand your first sentence. After that I have no clue about what you mean .

I had also been using Reddit for over a decade. I'm only now realising how early I got on Reddit's boat. Was mostly just a lurker but, apart from WhatsApp, the only social media, and main news source (tad cringe, yea). Your comment hist made me think where is the /c/atheism around here. PS: I keep coming here almost everyday. If you ever feel you need to reach out to a stranger, likely across the world, drop me a DM.

Putin is using the same tactics with European countries.

From reading that thread it is not just a socialist instance.

They are instructing their members on how to relate to others, how to react to outsiders comments in their communities, and how to protect themselves from outsiders opinions. To me that sounds like cult level brainwashing techniques.

Another word that comes to mind is brigading.

F-droid is great. But I wish f-droid had some kind of rating system so that I could use it more.

It is explained in the link.

A hint, just after the title: "MIT engineers and collaborators developed a solar-powered device that avoids salt-clogging issues of other designs."

damaging homeowners and the broader financial system in the country.

Or, showing that current homeowners overpaid, opening the door to new homeowners and allowing the broader financial system to have losses we all knew were possible.

PeerTube looks quite promising with its decentralised model. Surely it will never be perfect. But decentralisation is essencial. Also because the types of videos I like to see in YouTube either are monetised by themselfs in some way. Or are not monetised at all. YouTube does not seem necessary for those creators.

Really? Why?

How the hell are people supposed to keep up with a million completely contradictory lies?

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

At this point, if you want to know about it, it is well documented. Have you heard of firehose of misinformation?

Same content at archive.is

And like the that you go to the block list.

I remember that convo. Howdy!!

1 video does not prove your guess.

Otherwise, I'll call out the last "war on the rocks" to hear Koufman saying (as side note) that the cluster arty was only necessary because of lack of 'normal' arty. [Or was it the last Perun!?! Pointing out the lack of European commitment on increasing arty production..]

Like the ex-husband of J K Rawling?

This comment, above, does not provide any context to the news linked.

The math you're using is a tad hyperbolic. 1 to 3% of 88 bomblets is not 2-3 duds, in fact it is less than 1 to 3. If you're thinking about 10 shells we can do math with better precision, and the result is less than 30, it is 9 to 26. Nevertheless, the failure rate I've seen elsewhere is 2.76%, so for 10 shells that is 24 duds. At this stage you might think 24, 30, it's almost the same.. But also dud bomblets are not equivalent to mines. On the short term they are most definitely not like mines. On the long term, on the context of managing their danger, they can be thought of as mines, like mines left on a field for a long time. Some blow up, some don't. Nobody wants them on their yard.

In all cases I'd use them in my yard if it helped me fight a murderous sadistic thief out of my stuff. If only just to disincentivize their murderous sadistic thieving actions from attacking my neighbours and other people.

Will follow more after this thread! :)

But, IMHO, the best way to find your own sources is to explore by hashtags , like:

Hmmm..

I think I can see where that took you.

On this subject, the shallowness of your thoughts is only matched by the authoritative way in which you express them.

Can I suggest you to allow yourself to be left your thoughts to think it over.

How do you know? I'm convinced that guy had a death wish. He did join the wagneries after all.

It is the same thing.

Same thing on archive .ph.

Yea, I did assume something else. Assumptions are always a problem; they seem so obvious...

Thanks for your considerate answer.

I don't think the cluster ammo willl be used any other way than with a howitzer. I don't think there is a shortage of production of grenades. A shortage of shells, yes, and it might just be to mitigate that. Might. That would not be great news for Ukraine.

Thanks for offering your perspective. Maybe I'm too cynical. Or maybe I'm reading to much into the Russia-Ukraine-Nato thing.

In any case, at current information, I can both accept the defederation, or just teaching people that they can choose and block specific users and communities.
