I use FF on android for a couple months now. Solid browser and sync to desktol and add blocker are nice.

BUT: their page reloading is far too aggressive. You can't buy anything online, since once 2FA is required and you need to open your bank app, confirm, and switch back, the page reloads and the 2FA didn't get through. Tickets and such are the only reason I have still chrome installed.

Either that or just don't directly compete with them. Without Apple Music no one would have complained about it.

But you can't establish a monopoly and leverage it to charge your direct competitors a high fee.

Talk to families of unjustified imprisoned people or to the people itself. His 'fixing' was done by basically imprisoning everyone, which just happened to be close to any suspect gang member. There where even cases where a mailman was imprisoned because he just happenend to deliver a parcel during a raid.

Yes, he fixed the gang problem for now. But at a high price – the loss of a fair justice system. He imprisoned 1.2 % of the total population in just 2 years.

I know that freedom vs security is a fine balance and once security suffers significantly, you are willing to give up quiet a lot of freedom. But since he just imprisoned everyone and their relatives, its only a temporary fix – unless he wants to imprison them for life.

He is heard boasting about having an affair, saying "everyone" at Mediaset, the TV company he works for, "knows it, and now you do too", and then makes lewd references to group sex. Giambruno is heard asking: "Will you join our group, our working group?"

Good old christian family values.

Weird article. They present a 3+ years road map for upcoming chips but at the same time call that 'life support'. Something doesn't add up.

Still. Raiding embassies is the worst you can do. Its basically an invasion of a foreign country. Even states like Russia do not do that.

Actually thats 100 % the reason I expected.

Difference is that Russia is forcing Ukrainians - which is a violation of the Geneva convention.

If you watch the guys over at hexbear and lemmy.ml thats a good thing because censorship is good, because it secures societal peace. I wonder how they explain that thousands of people use these tools then.

but that's not the case here

But this is in fact how the police argues. Climate protests are terror attacks (since they disrupt traffic) and therefore this is justified.

Pretty sure the Bundesverfassungsgericht (basically our supreme court) will shut this practice down – just like all the other times Bavarian laws have been ruled unconstitutional – but Bavaria doesn't care. They scrap the law and replace it with a similar unconstitutional version and wait 2 years until the Bundesverfassungsgericht rules it unconstitutional and so on.

The problem is that Spotify is losing money each year. They aren't profitable. And if they are keep focusing on music, they never will. Their deal with the music labels says that they need to give 70 % of each subscription to the music labels. So by getting more people to signup, they only marginally increase their revenue. Same goes for raising their prices.

Thats why they tried focusing on Podcasts and Audiobooks. Those are a lot more profitable, either by adding ads (Podcasts) or by charging a premium (audiobooks).

Been in Japan this summer. A culture where tipping is non-existent. It was such a great experience to not worry about tipping. Instead you simply get outstanding service all the time and workers are simply paid a fair wage.

Definitely! But a 'friend of the family' is not really a perfect source.

Musk wants Twitter to become a 'platform for everything'. Having a payment system in place everyone uses already is key for that.

Not going to say that this is a good idea, but thats the rational.

Thats due to 0 economic knowledge of the author. The article says 49 mil profit, which should be revenue. If you mix up such basic figures I wouldn't trust any other 'analysis' of the article.

  1. Donations

  2. Getting payed by google to make it their default search engine.

1–3 months is enough for other developed countries other than the US, due to unemployment benefits, social security and most importantly: at least 3 months prior to termination a required termination notification.

Anyways: due to the current high interest rates it might be worth it to put more money into your savings account, since the opportunity costs compared to company shares are low.

  1. The war of Russia against Ukraine is still covered in most news – its just not happening much due to the current stalemate.

  2. The general consensus regarding Israel is the same like before the war: the Settling is breaking international law and needs to stop. At the same time Hamas is a terrorist organization. It's a classic 'everybody sucks here – but one side is significantly worse' and the palestinians are suffering from the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

You forgot that: /s

Poor countries you can exploit: Nepal, Kazakhstan, India, Usbekistan, etc.

I really love how the current german government is finally taking a stance against Chinas policies.

Its not like you haven't been warned. But you still voted for him.

That's maybe like that in the US, but not in Germany. To this day we have like 50 % contracts that have unlimited calls, 10ish GB of data and a fixed price of ~9 ct per text.

Okay... i should have made it more precise: attacking a foreign embassy on your own ground. Basically the idea of an embassy is that its protected by the state, in which is located and its counted as soil of the embassies state.

Here is it explained in more detail: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/02/world/europe/interpreter-israel-syria-embassy.html

Because they don't sell.

Thats not the problem. The problem is the usability. Making an account? Finding different communities? Find the right app? Everything really difficult. Thats the problem.

Lemmy.ml is already in full anti-US imperialism mode, saying that the western imposed sanctuary of borders needs to stop and the US puppet state of Guyana has to surrender to Venezuela.

So I wouldn't trust that the UN can step in, if Russia or China takes this stance as well.

The chip design is top notch. The manufacturing is 3 generations behind. Its manufactured in 7nm. Current state of the art is 3nm. So more like 3–4 years and not 5, but still behind.

We can't say anything for certain though, since besides the manufacturing width, yields are important too. If they manage 7nm in a high yield its a completely different story than 7nm with a low yield. In a capitalist system no one would go 7nm with a low yield, but in Chinas system economical viability isn't a priority.

Its actually also a media problem. For example, the largest Tiktok account of a german politician belongs to Maximilian Krah, of the far right party AFD. Just yesterday it was revealed that his personal assistant is actually a Chinese spy. Krah himself voiced a lot of pro-Chinese opinions before, like being pro annexation of Taiwan and denying the genocide on the uigyurs.

This begs the question if his Tiktok popularity is based on a non-biased algorithm or if the CCP made a deal with him, boosting his Tiktok popularity in exchange for being pro-China.

Yes, Eurorovision is only for whites – it has nothing to do with being part of the European broadcast union.

Or maybe...all countries in Europe has a majority white population and Eurovision is mainly european.

Btw: Marocco has participated in the ESC as well, but decided against joining again. Also Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya and Tunisia are allowed to join, but they also decide every year against it. But I guess these are countries with a 'white enough' population, too?

Pixel?

Its news because it happened in a public setting. Neonazis are less afraid than ever to show their true face even on social media.

Since not even iPhone users in Europe use iMessage I highly doubt anyone would use it outside the US.

Thats what I meant with 'if security gets really low, you are willing to sacrifice a lot of freedom'

My major complaint is, that he doesnt have a plan for the time after they will eventually get out of prison.

Its not about not paying Huawei. Its about the way the CCP uses Huawei to spy.

I will 100 % judge US Americans if Trump gets reelected. If half of your country votes for them, the people are responsible.

Which is a sequel...

The best selling new game was Hogwarts Legacy. Which still has a strong IP behind it (which really was the only reason the game was selling so much).

The only game in the top 10 of the best selling games 2023 without being a sequel or having a strong IP behind it, is Starfield.

Definitely not 'unprecedented'. In Germany is a FSB Agent currently in jail for killing a dissident of Russia.

Atheism and Feminism. Both have shown to lead to more pacifistic societies.

I discussed a lot with people at lemmygrad and lemmy.ml. Because I really thought that these are people from a developing nation, which are fed russian and chinese propoganda all day and giving a second perspective benefits the discussion.

Ive never gotten death threats before. Now I got dozens. And not in private messages, but straight up as comment.
