Remember these are the same engineers who put the Magic Mouse charging port on the bottom, making the mouse unusable while you charge it

Much appreciated!

With no clear winner in terms of performance, which one do you think has the most durable material? I have been using a Corsair Voyager mini for years, which I think has an aluminum shell, and it very quickly bent inward on the side that doesn’t have the contacts, usually I need to put a key or some other metal thing into the USB slot of the drive to re-flatten it before it can be plugged in.

Yep I had a couple aluminum ones, the 90 degree walls by the contacts would always bend inward to make a trapezoid ship on the connector instead of a rectangle and they sucked to try to bend back every time

Fair enough! Thanks for the data!

I got an email advertising a learn unity bundle from them this morning, I don’t think they have a stance lol

It’s all fun and games until tab autocomplete stops working because of disk space

The amount of websites that limit passwords to 16 characters is alarming

I have lived in northern Nevada for eight years, the amount of trash left in Black Rock and what they dump around Reno the days after Burning Man is over makes them seem a whole lot less climate conscious. I’ve seen piles of playa dust covered junk just dumped in streets and parking lots and RVs dumping directly into street gutters. Many Renoites will tell you similar stories, unfortunately.

I know it isn’t all of them, but there are plenty of them unfortunately.

I've been downloading my favorite AH videos all day in case WB decides to pull content, with their history you never know. I was looking into setting up a local NAS last weekend, and all these videos might be my push, I think I'm up to 250 GB downloaded (shoutout to youtube-dl) with the long 1080p60 files, hopefully I can cut that down with some HandBrake trickery.

The writing was on the walls for a while, Achievement Hunter breaking up was a huge red flag, but definitely not the first sign. I have only really consumed their podcasts for the last few years, and it sounds like The Roost will continue for now while WB looks for a buyer, but I think we have to wait for their stream tomorrow to find out what that means in terms of what productions if any are going to continue.

I had professors do different wordings for questions throughout college, I never encountered a professor or TA that wouldn’t clarify if asked, and, generally, the amount of confusing questions evened out across all of the versions, especially over a semester. They usually aren’t doing it to trick students, they just want to make it harder for one student to look at someone else’s test.

There is a risk of it negatively impacting students, but encouraging students to ask for clarification helps a ton.

I will hold onto my $700 3080 until it spits fire, cannot believe I was lucky enough to get it at launch.

I use Photopea all the time, I love it because the UI is almost an exact copy paste of PS, my only complaint is I wish they had a lifetime license to get rid of that side bar ad, the only options are all subscriptions/monthly. And I know the donate page literally says they don’t do subscriptions, but what else do you call a one time payment for 30 days of ad free?

Ad block works to block the ad, but I haven’t found a way to get that screen space back.

I was really impressed with Rider when I tried it out with Unity development, I’d love to use it, but I’ve switched to Godot and GDScript

I use IntelliJ and CLion daily at work, and PyCharm to a lesser extent, JetBrians makes some awesome IDEs

Edit: Now I’ve gone down a rabbit hole and it seems there’s a way to work with GDScript in one of the JetBrains IDEs, neat

Keep in mind that the sub count you see is the number of subscribers from your instance. I see 9.3k from my lemmy.world account, 250ish from my lemmy.ml account, and 300ish from my lemm.ee account.

Not sure how/where OP sees 12k though.

Exactly what I do with my ancient series 3, I have had no issues unless I forget my charger. I can go maybe 36 hours before a charge, closer to 30 if I do a few workouts.

That all being said, my fiancée and a friend both have series 3s that can’t even stay alive for 12 hours. I had my watch for a year longer than they did, so it’s not an age thing, I just think the batteries are very hit or miss.

Used Airalo in the EU last year, only complaint was it took a few hours for the data to work reliably, but it was 100% after that. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know traveling.

This helped a ton for me, I opened a second savings account for travel/vacation savings and I have thought about opening another checking to separate “fun” money from expenses money.

Some banks make it really easy, where you can freely create sub-accounts for each bucket of money, but it seems like a majority make you apply for each account. In my experience, the application gets instantly approved, but it makes it seem harder and scarier than it really should be.

Yep, they’ll definitely stick to the blue green system that already exists, threads with greens will just be improved from what they were/currently are

And I just found this saying they have added official support to Rider

I think this plugin that I was looking at adds GDScript language support for almost all of them

I loved the idea of this extension and used it for a few months, but ended up disabling it because it made YouTube take significantly longer to load a page on my daily laptop, which admittedly is pretty old.

I have seen some simple solder equipment and supplies at Home Depot and Lowe’s in the last year, usually with the other electrical wiring and equipment. Of course, you still have to go out to a store and hope that they have something, because I have found both to have unreliable in stock information, but it can’t hurt if you need something same day.
