Just an italian nerd refugee from reddit. Main interests: Hardware, Linux, Rpg and gaming

You must use the Linux build to play Dota Don't force the use of proton for it or vac will not work

No, we don't.

I think you are getting a CPU bottleneck, try disabling some settings heavy on CPUs and check if it runs better.

Enabling Fsr increases the load of the CPU, and I think it is for this reason you don't see any gains from it

I will say that 0 A.D. and veloren are my favourites!

Hardware side is really impressive, but i prefer the steamdeck for now For 2 reasons mainly : Steam os Touchpad

i play several games on the go where i use some type of mouse input and will not able to play them on the ally on the go, also i don't have gamepass and do not play competitive games where is necessary a kernel level anticheat (except vermintide sigh) so i'm really fine with proton and gaming with it. I mainly play on linux even on a desktop so probably i'm really biased

Tunic, hades, dead cells, some old rpg like fallout nev vegas or fable

Fallout new Vegas , I'm doing a new run after so many years Feels good

There is a small utility app called VrrTest you can use to test it. I also use my monitor OSD utility to check if it's really working.

not impressive, but basically the game itself optimization side is unimpressive. Like liam said, i hope with performance patches it would be better on deck!

Me on vermintide

Usually is useful to go from 60 fps to 100-110.

Probably it will work, but I'm not really sure is going to be a good experience on the deck.

I still don't know if the features work on proton too, cause Dlss3 for sure does not work on Linux afaik, and the fsr3 I tried to use on forspoken (demo) seems not working too.

So, the native version stopped working with the updated glibc

You can use the windows one with proton, You can use the directx 9 and should be work out of the box. But, the directx 11 doesn't work unless you install a directx11 missing libraries inside a prefix. You can use protontricks to do this.

After installing protontricks, you can go in desktop mode and type in a terminal protontricks 34330 d3dx11_42 After this, the game should work without problem.

rn i'm enjoying octopath traveler!

Probably you are in steam beta program, you can join from steam settings and leave anytime you want

I think he means D.O.C.P XMP is a term for intel based CPUs ^^

I hate it I try to always avoid always online drm but sometimes it's really impossible, i'm gonna be honest and say that i got some issue with my steamdeck for them. (f u ubisoft btw) So if i find that a singleplayer game needs an always online drm i just don't buy it.

thanks, i hate it

You can use the pipewire capture to do the remote play on wayland session.

You can try to use gamescope for that. Really useful for games that crash alt-tabbing

Yes , the frame gen is there to help with those CPU bottleneck scenarios but as you stated there are some drawbacks. Maybe the cd project will implement the Fsr 3 natively (and reduce some of those drawbacks), but for now, sadly, that mod is the only way you can have it on cyberpunk.

almost no one

This is more intended to be used by the linux desktop with amd gpus

Still using the default one. Some of them are really beautiful tho

i actually kinda like it. I'm really enjoying it, but i'm playing it really slowly, leveling up my characters and exploring every zone as much as i can.

Sorry idk I never used an immutable distro except Steamos on steamdeck And I never installed an appimage there

I tried vesktop two days ago, after using discord-screenaudio for over a year, and I'm in love with it. Check it out guys, it's really good.

Actually i'm playing hades on my idle time it's a rogue lite
