Appreciate it! Yes, for every other poor Italian coming to this thread, the secret was to enable Secure Core and the antitracking features.

I'm thinking it must be a DNS configuration issue... Every server with ProtonVPN is showing the same, from the US to Netherlands to Switzerland. All of them.

Nope. Swapped to every other server ProtonVPN has. I'm thinking it might be a DNS configuration issue though, because yeah, I don't understand why a different server wouldn't end run around this.

Yes, it absolutely is a result of the piracy shield thingy. Secure Core does seem to work!

Can confirm that the IP address/location appears to change, but the block and AGCOM interception remains.

The list of Stallman shitiness has no end apparently. Fucking gross. 🤢

I’m sorry! I thought this was AMERICA!?

Homework is a tool for repetition and drudgery. Kids are in school all day. They shouldn’t need homework.

You don’t… understand? That people want food but don’t want to go out? This really isn’t rocket surgery.

Their leadership team is not overpaid relative to the industry and they are highly deserved of those salaries. They make an excellent product. The point isn’t that the leadership team makes 5mil between them, a drop in the bucket of the 50mil total operating cost. It’s hard to read your comment as anything but disingenuous.

Vehicle telematics is the next frontier of the cyberpunk privacy dystopia. I hope more people start using these things.

Arrrrr whatever be i to do? 🦜🏴‍☠️

The dumbest one

It’s not turning copyright law on its head, in fact asserting that copyright needs to be expanded to cover training a data set IS turning it on its head. This is not a reproduction of the original work, its learning about that work and and making a transformative use from it. An generative work using a trained dataset isn’t copying the original, its learning about the relationships that original has to the other pieces in the data set.

This sure is an opinion.

Data portability for instances and users is imo an essential feature of any fediverse app, and sorely missing here on Lemmy/Kbin. We’ve already seen the issue surface with the hacks in instances last week and other instances going down suddenly. Like mastodon, we need to be able to take our data to whatever instance we want easily.

“Childrens advocates “ have been backing the most egregiously unconstitutional, paternalistic, data broker friendly, moral panic, privacy dystopia bullshit bills around the country. “Childs advocates” are why we have anti pornography pearl clutching panopticon laws that require you to scan a government ID to jerk off. Fuck off with that.

You want a trip down “is this a cyberpunk dystopia company” name, go check out the data brokers on the data broker registries in Vermont and California.

No you’ve complained and insinuated there are plenty of other solutions that the world class team at Signal, literally the preminent experts in their field, chose not to use - and then offered to some truly next level terrible options.

Can’t be worse than pregnant Spider-Man and pregnant Hull get married to have Zelda’s baby while beating up Elsa or whatever the fuck was rotting kids brains like a decade ago

I’m too active on stable diffusion to not get ai triggers from that image.

I’ve fallen deep down the Silverbullet rabbit hole. Self hosted markdown editor but with built in dataview style querying (if you used Obsidian that will be familiar), accessible cross platform and with a progressive web app, and basically endlessly extendable with a scripting language. Really really enjoying it and it’s made me finally move from Obsidian, which I used to evangelize (and pay for the premium sync features). Definitely check it out. Silverbullet.md

Counterpoint: digital ownership — true ownership when you have the actual files — is amazing. It’s the media panacea we’ve wanted for years. Storage is cheap, content is boundless, and if you curate your own collection you can usually get it anywhere you want.

Generative AI is coming for a lot more jobs than just writers and actors. We need to think of more creative solutions than “copyright harder”.

Literally the definition of FUD. Shit tier article.

There are no experts on this. We’re in uncharted water.

So: not unless you’re a math professor, can’t google a percentages calculator, can’t make simple sums of a materials list, or, for some reason, want to calculate the maths underlying your creative/rendering applications. Not the most convincing article tbh.
