  • Fly screens (Unrealistic solution but I wanted to mention it)
  • Get a Pet Frog that eats them
  • Get lots of Spiders making Webs. Be aware that the Pet frog might eat the spiders
  • Flood one of your rooms and make a little swamp where you can plant canivourus plants. The issue is that the swamp will breed more mosquito than it kills but the frog will feel right at home
  • Make a small campfire in your bedroom before you go to sleep. It is known that smoke scares them away. Make sure to keep the windows and door closed so no new mosquito get inside. This is probably the most effective as you won't get stung for the rest of you life
  • Catch some mosquitos and suck the blood out of them. The other mosquitos will see their wrongdoings and change their ways

If not being a racist is your benchmark, I don't even want to know what else your family does.

"Im not that conservative" said every conservative ever when arguing on a left leaning platform

To be honest I kinda want threads to crush Twitter because I despise Musk so much, a lot more than Zuckerberg. Yes, Meta is a horrible company who steals all your data but if I just look at the person behind it I would know who I would kill if I only can choose one. Threads isn't a Lemmy competitor anyway, they work so different. I think Mastodon might get an issue because sites like Mastodon/Threads/Twitter are all about getting famous people on your site and let's be real: Most famous people are not hardcore nerds, some of them might not even heard of Linux. If they can choose between Twitter itself, Twitter by Facebook , or Twitter for nerds (c'mon you know that's true at the moment) I don't know what they will choose but I DO know what they will NOT choose. I hope Twitter fails because it turns into a shit hole and threads fails because it never reaches critical mass.

I don't like it as well. People have to realize that Lemmy needs active members who are NOT part of the Nerd/tech bubble because they bring in a other type of content. I don't know enough about the feediverse protocols to know wether it's possible but what would help is if there where something like grouped communities consisting of multiple communities which are all about the same topic. Then you could search for e.g. "Cats" and it's shows you this grouped community which subscribes you to all cat content. I know that there are web based tools which already do a similar thing for a transfer from Reddit to Lemmy but those Groups would have to be integrated into Lemmy itself to be user friendly.

I'ma get hate for this but I'm not pirating out of principle but when I think something it's to expensive for it's price. I live in a country with good salaries and have to work less than one hour for one month of endless music. To me that is a good deal but I am aware that it is not to everyone especially those from other countries. I mostly pirate Movies and TV Shows because you would need to pay over 50€/month to get access to all services.

Fuck spez_

Zucks to be you

In Germany every asshole drives an BMW, but not every BMW driver is an asshole. It's a German brand so they much cheaper than in America because there are no import costs. Yes, they still are substantially more expensive than a VW but there are much more a car every other German drives than something special. If we only talk about the higher end models - sure.

Boost also didn't stop working. People speculate that the API changes aren't in effect yet. Don't celebrate to early. I'm pretty sure they will go through with it.

Every time I forgot to wash my hands my dad would hit me with his sticky belt. I miss them old days ...

It more of a joke because its the only real solution in my list. They are limited to your house but from my experience there's no way normal mosquitos can go through them. I think mosquitos don't really give a fuck about smells (at least not enough) and the problem is that they dont spread that well.

That's the polish government for you: Poland good, Germany bad.

I just find Boost's design very very appealing. I would go as far as saying its my favorite Android App in General. I don't really care if its not FOSS. I don't use Lemmy because its FOSS but because Reddit sucks now. But I have to say wefwef is also very clean.

But isn't it debatable which impact Elon had on his companies? Elon is someone who is reaching for the stars (literally) and that's the one thing he is good at. Believing he can achieve things so incredible unrealistic no one else would try to achieve them. And yes someone with a vision is important but Musk didn't invent any of the tech his companies are producing. His employees do the heavy lifting and he doesn't treat them exactly great for it.

But the thing is all the things I just mentioned don't even really matter because It's completely irrelevant wether a person does good things while being an asshole to everyone around him. If someone is an asshole I will call him an asshole. But I admit that some parts of my comment were hyperbolic

I miss communities sharing news about the attack of Russia on Ukraine. I was mainly browsing these subs: r/ukraine, r/ukrainewarvideoreport, r/combatfootage, r/ncd Non credible defence seems to be active but the others are pretty empty. These subs had about lets a ton of posts every day

Yeah, for me it's the various subs like Ukraine, ukrainewarvideoreport, combatfootage, ncd I visited that I miss the most. Here on Lemmy these subs exist but the have maybe 10% of the activity.

I do not have a problem with the nerd/tech bubble being on Lemmy and I am not hostile towards them. I have a problem with them being the ONLY community able to participate because how complicated some aspects of this platform are. Why would Lemmy have to be ONLY "on the nerdy side". Different people with different interests can coexist because you can create whatever community you want and they can also decide what content they want to see or not. Who are you talking about when you say "We". It's not like you or the tech community owns the feediverse. They might host most of the servers because guess what tech savvy people know how to do that but that's just part of the problem.

I strongly disagree with the whole idea of a site going down in quality when everyone uses it. There will be more bad content but only because there will be immensely more content in general which is the major benefit that Reddit had. "Bots, shills, ads" are a side effect of a site being popular and you can't have the one without the other. Reddit did not die a "slow death". Before the whole API things millions of people browsed Reddit everyday and created interesting content. If you don't like r/all the solution is obvious: Don't go there. Only visit the parts of the site that you are interested in. That's the whole concept of the home page. It has nothing to do with users refusing to learn but rather the site making it harder that it has to be.

No, I really like the smell of my own farts as it has something aromatic about it if you know what I mean. But I also like the smell of Manure on the fields so it might just be me. I haze the smell of freshly cut grass

I'm this guy in the picture apparently because I "walk to loud" with my morbidly obese 60kg body.

Sus

It's him with a 95% probability

Lol, thanks for sharing that. I came up with this concept myself when I thought about how you could fix this issue while also allowing servers to have duplicates of existing communities on other servers. I hope it will be implemented in the near feature.

They annoy the hell out of me because people aren't even trying anymore to make them funny. Yesterday it felt like half of the memes were self-referential "haha it's so funny how we now post the old memes again" shit and people up voted them to the moon.

I agree.

To get content from other servers in your main feed you just have to subscribe to the community you want to see the content from. If you are using the website go to "Communities" located at the top bar. When you use the app there should be also a button called "communities" or similar. On the website by default only communities of your own server are shown so select "All" at the top left. Then just select a community you like and press subscribe.

When I was still watching Gus I found him incredible funny but just to remind everyone that he treated his then Girlfriend like shit.

I don't know if you have already heard it but there will be Boost for Lemmy and I can't wait to try it out.

Ok, this is hilarious. First Zuck makes his own Twitter which made Elon so angry he wanted to fight him in real life (Will never happen cuz he’s a little bitch lol) and now Zuck owns the fucking letter Elon wants to name his app as.

If you install a plugin with only this feature you have lost control over your life
