What is it actually going to take to put this fucker in jail? Does he need to intimidate 20 witnesses first? I hate that the justice system feels they need to walk on eggshells around this wanna-be dictator cry baby.
X ร A-12 would be proud
Unfortunate but inevitable given the API changes. I only used teddit for a short time to check on a few subreddits during the protest/blackout period. This really marks the end of me visiting reddit in any form or fashion now.
It looks like the data comes from Statista. After a quick google, they look to be credible. Though, they require a business solutions license to see the source, which is a cool $490.
In other words, looks legit imho.
/r/Piracy also celebrated the fact that reddit officially endorsed them.
Tax dollars well spent. Give the invaders hell.
I was holding onto my account as well. That was until just a few minutes ago. I was browsing /r/all to see if there was any remaining discussion on the API shutting down. I only came across a couple of threads, all of which, to varying degrees, misrepresented what is going on. Comments making lite of the impact of 3rd party apps dying, and completely ignoring the fact that the owner of Reddit is acting with complete disrespect towards those who made the platform what it is today.
At that moment, I didn't give a shit about my account anymore. Are there bots astroturfing the comment section? Maybe. Are there users who are acting a little smug because they don't feel negatively impacted at all yet? Probably. Whatever. They can have whatever is left of the site.
I'm not going to stand for this. It feels like in life, there are so many bad things that happen that we have no control over. This is something I have 100% control over. It's so simple, just never go on Reddit again.
It was never about Reddit in the first place. It was just about hopping onto a forum and talking about games, current events, memes, comics, art, cats, etc. If /u/Spez and his ilk are going to be so disrespectful towards those who want to facilitate said forum, then I'll find another one immediately.
I have not found this to be the case. There are only a few podcasts I felt I enjoyed enough to financially support, and I stopped donations because I still had to sit through ads. I don't like feeling as if I'm being monetized twice.
Be really cool if more hosts made ad-free supporter versions.
Obviously they were inspired by the left handed devil.
Destiny 2 comes to mind. Bungie has indicated there's 0 interest in making it compatible with Linux ever.
Usually if it can't run on Linux it's because of kernel level anti-cheat. The vast majority of Steam's library works out of the box with Proton nowadays.
O shit, here comes dat boi
While most of these are a good rule of thumb, I disagree with 'Always Happy to Help.' > 'No Problem.'
'I'm Always Happy to Help' is a fine response, if you're actually willing to make your time available for the recipient at the drop of a hat. Sometimes that's called for, but I would only reserve it for a few very specific circumstances. I also don't see an issue with saying 'no problem' most of the time. There are situations where something a little more formal is called for, but 90% of the time 'no problem' should work imho.
I don't think so. Maybe I'm misunderstood, but the "I use Arch" meme was meming on the fact that using Arch was a flex, like it's harder to get into, and you're a true blooded Linux user if you're using Arch.
Whereas, Pop_OS is kind of the opposite. I'm fairly new to Linux (been using a Linux system as my daily driver for about a year), and Pop_OS was recommended as a beginner-friendly distro. Plus, it worked well with Nvidia cards with minimal effort. So maybe it seems like a lot of people are using Pop_OS and are bringing it up, because there are a lot of newer Linux users.
Plus for any 3rd party apps that are scabbing for reddit, NSFW subs won't show up.
I pursued a degree without really understanding what the one relevant job would have entailed until my junior year of college. Turns out, I would have hated that job.
To be fair to my past self, I was just a kid and I really wasn't offered proper guidance. But yeah, wish I made different choices, so I didn't have to go through such a huge quarter life crisis.
Reddit will fuck something else up in the future and hemorrhage more users.
I'm not too concerned, they'll figure it out. I'm enjoying learning this platform at the moment.
For sure. Spez would need to resign for me to recover any trust with reddit.
Trump jail any% speedrun, lets gooooooo
Did I hear a Rock and Stone???
I never even suggested we let them do whatever we want.
That doesnโt mean we provoke them into using their nukes.
Using that logic they can do whatever they want, as long as they back up their 'want' with nukes.
I think there are things we should never let them do, even under threat of nukes. Muscovy needs hard red lines, else they'd just annex everything. Got to call their nuke bluff from time to time.
It is Ashbie, a character made by reddit user /u/AshbieMoon who posted on /r/aspiememes. They are a sort of self-insert character. Lots of autistic memes:
This gave me the motivation to log into the old reddit account to have all my content edited. That is a worthy final upvote if I ever give one. Bring on the sexy John pics!
Increadible.
I like the idea behind this extension and would love to use it. However, I would really appreciate the ability to tweak the blocklist. Not that I enjoy seeing or hearing about Trump everyday, but I do want to stay in the loop with the ongoing court cases he's getting rammed with. If I never hear or see Elon, Zuck, etc. again then I'd be happy.
If you're doing a peer-to-peer (P2P) related activity, port forwarding is very important for improving speed or enabling the service at all. That's because your router blocks incoming traffic from certain ports by default, ports that are used for a P2P connection. To get around this, you can 'forward' the specific port that is used for the P2P activity you're using, letting your router know that the traffic you expect to see from a specific port is good to let through.
You can simply leave port forwarding to your personal router, but if you want to stay anonymous while participating in P2P connections, then you'll want to use a VPN service. If a VPN service doesn't utilize port forwarding, then any P2P connections you use will either be straight up impossible, or very slow over the VPN. The P2P service you're attempting to use needs to access a specific port on the VPN's router, which needs forwarding to work properly. For example, you wanted to host a gaming server without giving away your actual IP address, then a VPN with port forwarding is desirable. The same can be said for torrenting.
TL;DR: VPNS with port forwarding matter if you want to stay anonymous while using P2P services.
Not to mention dry herb vapes produce ABV at the end of your session, which can be reused in edibles. Dry herb is the best way to get your monies worth.
Whomever can get the deepest inside of me imho.
I'm just cheering on for more Russian infighting. The Citizens of Russia have sooooo much work to do to fix their shit country. There's pretty much no good outcome for them in the short-term. But this could be great for Ukraine in the short-run, so that's the best we can hope for imho.
If anything, if this somehow speeds up an end to the war that could be a net positive for everyone. Like Ukraine, Russia cannot move forward in any real way until the war is concluded.
This magazine (magazines are like subreddits or communities, they are called magazines on kbin) is hosted on kbin. We know this because the address for the magazine is @RedditMigration@kbin.social. The first @ sign is the name of the community, the second @ sign is the address of the instance that community is hosted on.
Your account address is @yesdogishere@kbin.social, so I can see you made your account on kbin.social. So you're probably viewing this from kbin.social as well. Kbin.social is just an instance (a server) that you're using to access the Fediverse.
So the community is on kbin.social, you're on kbin.social, and I also happen to be on kbin.social. But that's mostly just a coincidence. Say if my account were made on lemmy.world, then my account address would be @Helldiver_M@lemmy.world. Because lemmy.world and kbin.social are federated, a lemmy.world user could reply to my comment.
As far as your day-to-day browsing, this isn't super important to know about. But it can be helpful. For instnace, sometimes federated content can take awhile to move from instance to instance. This thread is still pretty new when I'm typing out this comment, so it might not have shown up on other instances yet. That's why if you look around right now, it's mostly people with kbin accounts participating. But give it an hour or two, and there might be a few comments from people using different instances in the fediverse.
I know that was a bit of an info dump, please let me know if there's anything else I can help clarify. I'm still learning this too and find it pretty interesting.
I'll make a single exception for this post, as it's complaining about the people complaining. But if I hear someone complain about someone complaining about someone complaining, then so help me.
Behind the bastards makes it more bearable because they really take the piss out of the ads every time.
Your avatar feels appropriate. Good sailing in the Fediverse o7.
It does yes. It also interferes with other privacy related extensions like privacy badger. I have disabled both Ublock Orgin and Privacy Badger in favor of AdNauseam and have been pleased. After using it for about a week, it says I've "clicked" on about $150 worth of ads.
The main thing to note is if you're on a site, and you see ads, you can always flip AdNauseam into "strict" mode. In strict mode, it is less effective at clicking on ads, but better at making sure nothing pops up. There's only one site that I've had to use strict mode on so far. Attached image is of my "ad vault" (the ads that have been clicked). I did hide the NSFW ads:
You sumarize my thoughts as well. Honorable mention to/r/BestofRedditorUpdates. Sometimes there was a nice/wholesome story in there, but most of it was nightmare fuel and a lot of it probably creative writing.
I could binge that sub just because seeing how the updates unfolded was super interesting some of the time. But it also had me feeling pretty negative, given how there were commonly toxic characters in the stories. I won't be rushing to recreate that scene here on the Fediverse.
I'm gonna wager that he breaks it in one covfefe.
Karl is the feeling you get when you mine some gold or smash a bug's head in.
Nah, they left out that chapter where he gave everyone monster dongs.
And allowing witnesses to be intimidated is like allowing trump to have a Javelin in your tank analogy. For the cases to be prosecuted correctly, the necessary witnesses need to give their testimony without fear of retaliation. He needs to be put into pre-trail detainment.
If you're interested in some of the set pieces, like the bitters on the right side of the board or the factory on the left side of the board, those are from an actual game, Factorio. If it even kind of looks like you might enjoy it, then I'm sorry. I've ruined your life temporarily.
The hottest 21 days so far!
