This imploded so quickly I'm impressed

Wikipedia is one of the most impressive collective creations of the modern world. One day corrupt politicians will ruin it. They're one of the organizations I donate to every year in my futile hope they preserve it as long as possible. Articles like this just reinforces the need to vote for people who aren't actually cartoon villains. May not vote for SC but we do for who appoints them.

If Ted Cruz sees his shadow in Cancun there will 6 be weeks without power in Texas.

I love when this happens and they present no alternative. Choosing a losing option instead of accepting an imperfect effort. Try to improve it? No surely not. Throw it all away. If a social program helps someone I deem unworthy of aid it must be removed.

How small of a person.

Bets on it being a big map with not much to do in it?

Instead of offering anything to be a better platform they are burning money on the platform in hopes they can pay their way to dominance by paid exclusivivity and giving away games. One of those isn't bad for users. Now consider what Epic offers beyond being able to buy and download a game. Nothing. Epic is only a storefront and they've had years to work on this at this point. Steam has gained dominance and maintains it in no small part due to all the additional features available to everyone. Do you use the steam workshop for any of your games? Have you used the steam community forums to troubleshoot a problem? Do you use big picture mode for a more console like experience? Do you customize your controller settings with the pretty expansive controller support built into steam? The overlay? How about the custom profiles and badges and trading cards? Epic is only a storefront. That's it. That's all that's on offer. So they supplement it with bribing devs to be exclusive to their store and giving away games to try and attract users.

Sponsor block says it's skipped about 18hrs since I started using it. No way I'm going to stop using it when I have a choice.

It sucks because while the award has lost 'prestige' by becoming too much of a marketing gimmick it still obviously means a great deal to the teams that win. Maybe I'm too jaded on the topic but I can't watch these kind of events anymore. Unaffiliated celebrities, shitty ad slots, can't even hear the people your watching for talk for any length of time. For the viewers it's kinda a shitty thing to watch live. Catch the highlights as they make their rounds on social media.

Yeah this is one of those games you play for what it is now because chances are it's about as finished as it will ever be.

Big "I pledged it" energy here.

I'm a souls hater. They are just slow and boring games.

I blocked this website on my news feed because of this article. It's opinion piece written by an asshat.

Maybe I'm miss remembering but weren't they restoring stuff users deleted during the API protest?

Diablo 4 isn't that good of a game and not even close to the best arpg. I admittedly got hosed on buying it at launch and am not giving them more money. Why would I spend over 150$ total to get the equivalent of 1 mediocre game assuming they fix all the bs. Definitely regret the purchase at this point, and if a fixed version is going to be locked behind absurdly priced dlc in the future I feel like I got scammed twice.

I'm conflicted on a lot of this. At the end of the day it seems like these LLMs are simulating human behavior to an extent - exposure to content and generating similar content from that. Could Sarah Silverman be sued by comedians who influenced her comedy style and routines? generally no. I do understand the risk with letting these 'AI' run rampant to displace a huge portion of the creative space which is bad but where should the line be drawn? Is it only the fact they were trained material they dont own people are challenging? What recourse will they have when a LLM is trained on wholly owned IP?

For sure. I wouldnt outright hurt people but id definitely do things to improve my own life. Assuming it's the kind of time stopping power where I am not affected and can still interact with objects I'd use sports or roulette gambling to get rich. Easy to manufacture winning with time stopping powers in either.

If I wanted to be ethical I guess I could put on some sort of circus/magician act with tricks and feats abusing the power but I don't know how rich you can get off what would be perceived as a really good trick.

Id also like to know the extent of the ability, if I stop time indefinitely, do I still age or am I immortal in a paused world? Can I stop time travel the world and see every sight and read every book then restart everything having lost nothing aside from my own sanity?

This is important because it determines if it's worth trying to be a super hero with this power imo. If I can stop time and help people avoid death all while being able to go right back to where I was losing no true time it's worth it, otherwise I'd still be aging and I'd grow older faster than everyone around me. Id die earlier in real time if I continue to age while I stop time for everything else. If that's the case I'd only use the ability really for my own benefit.

I know very little about electronics and really like Jeremy Fieldings videos. A very good channel.

As for mkbhd. I don't like his content on Elon musk products. He bought a Tesla and was in a bunch of their beta/early adopter stuff and makes videos with heavy praise. It gives me a bad taste about his ethics on these topics which extends to the rest of the channel.

Corn looks like a sludge still thawing out.

Yes this is the most critical. The apps that have been made are a good stride in the right direction but the fediverse is not intuitive to use

Divinity original sin 2. The anticipation of BG3 has got me re playing old rpgs and trying out some new ones.

For me it's the sense of progression. I cognitively know it's meaningless progression but emotionally I still feel value out of that artificial progression. Like I've achieved something. In addition to that it's freeing in that it's the most objectively fair setting(I suppose this is less true in modern games than it used to be sadly) in a game it doesn't matter who you are or what your reality is, it doesn't exist there. No problems from your real life have to exist there so that escapism can be a very addictive coping mechanism.

Remember when Flint changed water sources to save a few bucks and they poisoned the city?

Because its really hard to do it retroactively. Not too many people cared about its aesthetic/health or public value when compared to the commercial real estate value

They have the money and the technical talent to make a good launcher. They just appear to choose not to.

This is completely the case. You can't tell me the makers of Unreal Engine couldn't figure out how to replicate at least some of the more commonly used features of Steam. Of course they can do it. Someone somewhere in the corporate ladder decided they don't need the extra features to compete with steam. Maybe burning money on the exclusivity contracts and game giveaways will work out in the long run, but I doubt that when they flat out said they're spending more money than they earn in their 800+ person layoff just a few months ago.

True but if you had potentially infinite time, why not? I suppose nutrition and hydration maybe an issue depending on how the ability works too. It would be annoying to have to lug around supplies.

I found I could visaully block the pop up and use keyboard controls to still play a video. It did break navigating the page though because while I couldn't see it popup it was still there.

Wtf is up with that building in the picture it's lumpy and ribbed

Okami was really fun. I will say that going back to play it now the NPC talking sound the murmuring gets really old fast. I still enjoyed everything else.

I applied for an internal position 3 times as it came up frequently at a company I worked for for more money, and it wasn't until I found out someone I met happened to know the person that position reports to talked me up that I actually got it. I never forgot got that and it definitely reflected in me leaving eventually.

You would need to pay shipping on orders under 35$ - previously 25$ was the threshold. With some exceptions that require shipping be paid no matter what prime was there to give you two day shipping on all orders at no extra cost. Now they have prime video, prime gaming, prime music, and prime reading as part of it aswell. All of which have were some nice added value to anyone already paying to get the shipping. Although prime video now has ads, music and reading are really just a worse version of their subscriptions for those services - amazon music and Kindle unlimited.

Basically if you have frequent small orders on Amazon it might be cheaper to pay the monthly sub than to pay for shipping. For most people it's really not worth it, either because you don't place enough orders or they would meet the threshold for free shipping anyway.

Id need a fan to get rid of moisture when it's hot and my feet are sweaty.

Quick swap method for the tread of the bottom as it becomes worn or to suit another purpose - need nonslip non conductive bottom at work -swap as needed or maybe need better support for long distance running on pavement for your work out - swap to the tread for that

Shoe laces are gone I want a one hand quick latch or something. I've seen them on helmets adapt it to a shoe please.

Warframe has been consuming basically all of my game time. It took a long time of playing off and on for it to really click with me like it has now where Ive stuck with it. I'm actually a bit glad though because it's left this ocean of different things in the game I can do and it's been great.

He has a video where he talks about his experience caring for his mother who had alzheimers at the end of her life. Very sad situation. His video was informative on the difficulties it presents and the perspective of trying to make it as easy as possible to let your loved on live while having to watch them regress and adjust.

At sea? Chance in a million.

God I love that skit.
