ChatGPT4: tl;dr The universe is bigger than we thought.

ChatGPT5: fuck spez

Yeah...

Used to be a document controller for a QA dept. My manager sent me emails to print out for him and then wanted them scanned back into the computer so they were saved as .pdf

I "definitely" didn't just print to .pdf and sit at my desk most of the day.

I'm sure for most people, this is somewhat disturbing.

However, I have at least 3 voices going in my head at any given time, and they cycle.

One is figuring out what's happening.

One is analyzing what was just happening.

One is talking to itself.

All while I decide which one is the most interesting.

I mean, in the book it even mentions that there are other people doing the exact same thing Jesus did. The book even implies that Jesus was not even one of the more popular trouble makers of the time. It's more or less the sophists in a back-woods community that the Romans gave very little fucks about. Not surprising there's little-to-no evidence.

Lol. That's why I kept a recycle bin next to my desk; "empty" it in the AM, "fill it" on my way out. Didn't waste paper because it was the same scrunched balls.

I really just wonder how easy it would be, psychologically, to start a Red-Blooded for Jesus organization, rake in profits under a non-profit tag, then "have to close because of the economy" and retire.

It's good.

If you've never played the games, it may take a few episodes to figure out, but my kids (who've never played) enjoyed it.

The universe has so many characters, factions, and creatures that I would say not even 1/4 are in the first season, so there is a lot of in universe room to expand and explore story-wise.

Not often I say this about new streaming series, but I highly recommend!

Hey, thanks for letting me know I need to block you and your community.

K, thx, bi!

So, please read this as serious and no ulterior-motivation.

I'm hoping to release a game in a few years, and naturally I would like to sell it.

I am also supportive of this community and understand somewhat about the release date underground release.

I'd rather either get the revenue from my work directly, or give it away in exchange for donations, trade, or even nothing at all.

All this especially in light of how often independent creators get their shit stolen by megacorps.

Is there something I should be keeping an eye out for, or preparing for so everything goes smoothly at least with regards to this community?

Welcome to Nightvale

So, without reading the article, I'm assuming it's lethal to humans and not just an issue where we all need to tell the closest rat to have a glass of cranberry juice for their uti.

I definitely would argue most people don't ever work 8 hours a day.

Even when I was scheduled in a factory, I had 10-15min here, 30min there of downtime waiting on the line, going poo, being told to change posts, watching people drop pallets and then everyone scrambling to pick up the spill.

That's why I'll always advocate work from home. Get your shit done, and get on with life.

My hands feel weird...

So, any recs. on good dumb tvs?

I'm upgrading to a projector soon, but also would love a few screens with actual buttons on the device incase of the inevitable remote loss.

Agreed.

The carpet is for my comfort, I'm not hosting it.

This reminds me of a similar discussion on reddit, years ago, about garbage disposal care: The absurdity argument was someone referencing a plumber who told them that the only thing that should ever go into the disposal is water.

Those poor multi-billion dollar...

Nope, I cannot even finish typing that sentence.

Fuck 'em.

Defintely not.

So, I like the Roko's Basalisk paradox.

Basically, a super-powered future A.I. that knows whether or not you will build it. If you decide to do nothing, once it gets built, it will torture your consciousness forever (bringing you "back from the dead" or whatever is closest to that for virtual consciousness ability). If you drop everything and start building it now, you're safe.

Love the discussion of this post, btw.

Good o'le "Bobwehadababyitsaboy"

I also remember when CarrotTop did the C-A-L-L-A-T-T commercial, so that's fun/old...

Seconded.

I've played most of the games.

New Vegas is best for overall gameplay.

Personally, I like 4 best, but that's because I played it first and the newer interfaces and voice-acting integration is smoother (it's a newer game, so this is kind of th point). But, everyone I've talked to says New Vegas is the best, and I have to agree.

But only banned books

So, the dictionary is not a gold-standard.

It is, in fact, the opposite and in very simplified terms, just a book of how people currently pronounce words and their meaning today. Think of it more as a record book for the time it was printed, rather than a rule book; living languages are funny like that.

If you would like to know more, I highly recommend Word by Word written by Kory Stamper, one of the editors for the Merriam-Websters Dictionary.

Android's is pretty good.

Can reschedule repeat alarms to sound at the next scheduled time if you need to disable the current one with just a flip of the toggle and a confirmation.

Also, I love being able to schedule alarms out indefinitely. I use it to remember appts. that are over a year out.

This is my thought:

Good enough laptops are about $200, and Linux is free.

Then there are fairly good projectors for like $80 or less that have hdmi, av, rgb, etc. with an led bulb.

So, grand total about $300 for a massive screen and zero ads.

This better not be another attempt to reach me about my car's extended warranty, godamnit!

It's a very hard line to tow.

I think the death penalty should really only be allowed for mass murder / enslavement.

However, I doubt any billionaires are innocent of enslaving people, even if it's "I paid them ($0.07 / day, which is slave wages)!" So, fuck the ultra rich. They didn't get there by hard work; they got there by exploiting people and the system. Finances are not unlimited, so funneling that much money to yourself means you are directly depriving whole communities of livelihood and, almost always, actual life.

That's pretty cool!

Mine have names too, sort of like positions on the bridge, I guess?

[HopingForBetter], or just my name, is usually deciding what to pay attention to.

Vega is the one that's usually analyzing.

Francesca wants to have fun.

And then there's Vivian, the destroyer of worlds...

Oh, internet, bringer of smooth-pointy weiners...

I'm just expecting ads with any "start" button press.

Press start ADS!

Change equipment by pressing start to access the menu. ADS!

Press start to conti ADS!!!

After a quick search through us history, alcohol was banned around 1920 and lasted for about 13 years. The marijuana ban that we all know of happened, get this, in 1970, and states began pushing back only 3 years after. So, alcohol was banned far longer than marijuana. The d.a.r.e. campaigns and other propoganda coupled with the inability to do scientific studies on the drug created the mass panic. There were not serious problems, other than some politician needing a platform.

Add some quality of life to this by installing multi-layer plastic sheets with perforation at the wall for easy cleanup when you forget whether your current shoes are indoor or outdoor.

Of course it dropped to 0.9kb/s frequently, but it still downloaded.

I like that the way to beat it is to go, Hmm... and move on.
