Every doctor I’ve had as an adult, except my university health center doctor and planned parenthood doctor, has been hesitant towards my “gay” care. Things like saying I have multiple sexual partners make them wince when I say I want to be tested for STDs on a regular basis. Only my gay friendly providers offered me an anal exam when I said I was generally the receptive partner (to check for warts, hemorrhoids, sores, etc).

just be prepared that the "default" YouTube recommendations are all clickbait + Mr. Beast + whatever fad is going around. The default recommendations are really really bad.

The Wagner group are absolutely not Ukraine sympathizers. They’re just another group within Russia with the same ultimate goal as the current regime; they just want to be the ones in charge. Nothing would change if the Wagner group were in power in Moscow.

It really confuses me why people would want to play a competitive video game that is balanced around profit. Riot openly admits to buffing and nerfing based on skin sales and champion releases.

Your homeschool diet has a lot to do with it.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would buy a car without Android auto or CarPlay lmao; you wanna pay for an internet connection in your car?

A natural birth consists of a bunch of hormonal changes that initiate the process (similar to a medically induced abortion); I’d be super surprised if the younger fetus doesn’t abort when the older one is birthed on time.

My synology NAS. It’s great being able to have a central place for all my files that’s platform agnostic.

Pima county resident here: Pinal county is pretty much a Trump cesspool of retirees and people who think the world is out to get them. Their county has been on a steady decline as the brain drain moves north to Phoenix. Doesn’t surprise me lmao.

From Tucson here: Walmart in town is pretty sketchy compared to the other places. We had someone light the chemical isle on fire on Christmas Eve that burnt down half the entire store lmao. Walmart sold itself as a low price retailer for so long that only low income people go there and with that there’s theft and then the classism of hiring armed guards during their high crime periods.

I unironically love cooking with my steel chopsticks.

I mean, just looking at him he’s in his 40s? Doesn’t federal time have very little time reduction for good behavior, so he’ll be close to 70? He may just die behind bars lol.

I say this out of love and a shared experience so 🐻 with me:

  1. Start taking school immensely seriously. Literally live to get all your homework and assignments done on time and done well.

  2. Start really focusing on future goals and plans. Short mindedness will turn into long term depression and stagnation.

  3. Start going to your college counselor at school and trying to figure out what you’re good at plus what makes money.

  4. Stop worrying about dating. The idea of finding a highschool sweetheart is basically almost fantasy. Statistically speaking, you will not talk to, remember the names of, or miss the majority of people you spent time with in high school.

  5. College is a great place to make connections and start over. Look to college as something to strive towards. I cannot stress this enough: pick a major that makes money or has a very flexible way to fit into different jobs.

About me: I got my bachelors in veterinary science and worked with animals in research, and once I had experience, I could start applying to jobs that made more money using the skills I gained from research. I am bisexual and grew up in a baptist church and am gay married for 4 years. No one in my family knows. They think I live with a roommate who works with me. It’s not worth diving into a depressive attitude over things you can’t control; your goal should be to make your life better in spite of those things you can’t control.

I was generally considering getting a model Y, but learned that they can’t be exported overseas and still don’t have CarPlay and Android auto. Not to mention that it’s seemingly impossible to get an insurance quote without buying the car first???? Sorry, I’m going with another company.

I switched to Bitwarden after 1Password moved to electron and booted selfhosters off the app and into their sub model. Jesus Christ is the current Bitwarden UI bad. It’s easily the worst looking application on my phone that isn’t a banking app; I’ve had zero issues with the functionality though.

The situation here is very, very unique. The state is a swing state that has been trending slowly Democratic. When the AZ Supreme Court ruling came out, Democrats began salivating at the thought of a gigantic turnout for the pro abortion ballot initiative. Any smart GOP politician in the state began to shit their pants because abortion rights ballot initiatives could surge the Democratic turnout in all the state political races and could turn AZ dark blue based on this one single issue. The writing is on the wall though… AZ will be a blue state, but it’s not going to happen quickly as long as the GOP doesn’t piss off the state with unpopular policies.

Real Gs move in silence like lasagna.

on T-Mobile USA: I preordered my iPhone 15; the QR eSIM and automated SIM transfer system was completely down and I had to spend 30 minutes to an hour on the phone with customer service to swap over my physical SIM to an eSIM I could type (IIRC) into my new phone.

French Canadian here

All of our swear words are Catholic church vocabulary words. As a never Catholic I always find them hilarious when I say them. They can basically be used as stand-ins for words in the same way as we use “fuck” in English or strung together.

“Saint Ciboire” was my grandmother’s favorite when I would fuck something up.

baptême [ba.tae̯m]: "baptism"
câlice [kɑːlɪs] (calice): "chalice"
ciboire [si.bwɑːʁ]: "ciborium" or "pyx", receptacles in which the host is stored
criss [kʁɪs] (Christ): "Christ", or crisser, a more emphatic version of sacrer, both verbs meaning "to curse"
esti [əs.t͡si], [ɛs.t͡si] or ostie [ɔs.t͡si] (hostie): "host [cookie]"
maudit [moːd͡zi] (m) or maudite [moːd͡zit] (f): "damned" (or "damn")
sacrament [sa.kʁa.mã] (sacrement): "Sacrament"
saint [sẽ]: "Saint", added before others (ex. saint-simonaque, saint-sacrament, etc.)
simonaque [si.mɔ.nak] (simoniaque): from the sin of simony
tabarnak [ta.baʁ.nak] (tabernacle): "tabernacle"; typically considered the most profane of the sacres
viarge [vjaʁʒ] (vierge): "the Virgin Mary"
Moïse: Moses

This happened in Missouri in 2000 for a senate seat. The governor appointed his widow to the senate seat which she lost in the special election shortly afterwards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is literally the best cowboy game ever made and up there with the other top tiers.

I always thought he was super popular with the evangelicals and that those folks are declining in numbers. The way I see it, younger conservatives aren’t as religious and are just spiteful towards the left; when you’re spiteful you want a loud mouth candidate who’ll legitimize your beliefs.

Bettertouchtool is basically the best app ever made, bar none. It’s a major reason why I’m a macOS user. It’s basically a shortcut maker using any peripheral or any trigger and works nearly flawlessly.

It’s incredible that some of the trackpad gestures are actually linear rather than clunky

You could look into anywhere near the Rhine since even though the west is pretty industrialized, it gets very rural very fast unlike the US. That way you’re not giving up the bonuses of urban areas.

As much as I would hate it, I’d consider strategically voting against her, definitely in a primary election, for sure in a general election just to get rid of her. Fuck her.

because Muslims are fanatics and unfit for democracy, actually kind of have a point.

i am glad that people are starting to wake up and understand that islam is more of a political ideology than a religion.

they’re doing it out of pure hatred towards other people

I would take away the veracity from these statements (because ultimately people can change and Muslims are not a monolith) and I’d say I agree. There is definitely a political aim of the Muslim religion, and us westerners should be rebuking the illiberal aspects of Muslim adherents. It’s one thing to support a Muslim’s choice of religion, it’s another to think it’s okay to give up another group’s freedom because Muslims want to prescribe their beliefs.

You mean like the phonebook?

The guy should’ve been executed, but the burden on the prosecution might’ve been a high bar to cross for that punishment. At least he’ll be serving in federal prison, which is far harder time than state prison. Federal prison sentences for example won’t allow him to commute his sentence or ask for parole as easily as state sentences. You often hear about people serving only a fraction of their sentence in state prison; this avenue is not possible with federal charges. The president (Trump or a sympathizer) could commute or pardon him, but I think that’s a bridge Trump wouldn’t cross based on his current track record of pardons. Trump’s pardons were largely political gains for him (self serving) and I don’t think a troublemaker would in the end help him very much.

Fucking thank you. I’m so sick of not having typing indicators and read receipts with my parents lmao.

Arizona here. Very likely voting straight Democrat. We’re a swing state that feels like it’s swinging further Democrat at time goes on. At least at ground level, it feels like things are changing for the better. Phoenix doesn’t look and feel like the land of the Karens and boomers as much as even 4 years ago.

Not unless they were getting Ukraine’d by Egypt/Jordan/Lebanon/Syria. Since they’re not, they can make do imho.

I genuinely don’t think PR would be a safe D seat by any stretch though
