Hey man there is a mountain of people who don't know things and are scared to ask. learning is always a good thing

Polling guru Nate Silver and his election prediction model gave Donald Trump a 63.8% chance of winning the electoral college in an update to his latest election forecast on Sunday, after a NYT-Siena College poll found Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris by 1 percentage point.

He's just a guy analizing the polls. The source is Fox News. He mentions in the article that tomorrow's debate could make that poll not matter.

Should you trust Nate or polls? They're fun but... Who is answering these polls? Who wants to answer them before even October?

So yeah take it seriously that a poll found that a lot of support for Trump exists. But it's just a moment of time for whoever they polled. Tomorrow's response will be a much better indication of any momentum.

I guess I just don't have faith in the majority's conversation. Once you have a lot of dumb people, all the content starts devolving. Especially the comments.

As a dumb myself, it's a difficult problem that I don't have an answer to.

But maybe it's a net positive. Don't spend all day on one platform. And the dumb jokes are nice for being less serious all the time. As long as there is still good conversation

Bro, we've had like 3 dozen memes at the top about Taylor Swift's airplane just in the last week. We are not exactly avoiding what I just complained about. So I guess it'll be okay

Really hope people keep the pressure up. Memory can be fickle

I know a conservative mother who started the debate with Israel, abortion, and godly values being her main concerns. Godly values was the most important to her.

Before we even got to "concepts of a plan" she actually said she isn't sure who is the best choice for the country. We stopped giving the tv our full attention when she said it was depressing her - we ended up playing cards games the rest of the debate so I didn't react as much. But thankfully I got to chuckle live at the concepts of a plan.

I've been trying to avoid saying "weird" when talking about republicans. I don't want right leaning folk to think I'm trying to buzzword them. But it's really hard and sometimes I do say weird (was describing JD Vance's eyeliner) but that kinda makes it worse because I'll catch myself saying it and backpedal immediately and change the word (the eyeliner became 'unflattering' instead of 'weird') and they notice. And it feels like I have to protect them. Like... I'm not calling them snowflakes to their faces... But I'm loudly walking the proverbial egg shells.

This is why I had to say that "Concepts of a plan" was cute instead of weird. I ended up comparing it to my mother asking if I had cleaned my room, with me responding "I've thought about cleaning my room."

All that to say... It's hard for anyone with a good heart to enjoy Trump speaking. We made comments that Harris was obviously baiting him - but does that matter when he takes the bait? The immigration stories. The hate-filled eyes.

Trump is either a mean old man who is innocent. Or he's a terrible liar - and truly a bad person.

It was a good night. I don't know who she will vote for. But in 2020 I DID. When Harris addressed how you don't need to abandon your faith to know the trump ban laws are wrong, it felt like Kamala was speaking directly to people like her

Well companies serve humans. Be better

I have shamed my family

It's like... I feel like I have to look up if there's any weird stuff before I can get into any of it. Like I love fma (brotherhood ftw) and really enjoyed Death Note and some Netflix shows. But I couldn't finish sword art online. I should have known when an early episode introduced a little girl voice trope character... Who was almost immediately attacked by tentacles.

Sex stuff doesn't bother me (laughed my ass off at the wild food war competition show) but the kid stuff is fucking weird. And it's common enough that I stick to other media mostly

Yeah. I think we take our easy navigation for granted sometimes. Like... I can get most information pretty quickly and not have a lot of trouble discerning what I need to do to get that information.

But not everyone is as "natural" at surfing. Maybe they have trouble putting things in perspective, they don't know how to use a tool like Wikipedia, or even - maybe they just don't like researching.

I'm so glad we have people that are great at keeping up with everything. But we have to remember that presenting and teaching information accurately and helpfully is a skill that we need desperately.

Love Kamala. But it seems you are disappointed? If you're more conservative, this is a critical time for Republicans. It's time to represent real Americans again. We all win when both parties are fighting for things like housing, the economy, and social issues. America wants to move forward.

love NGE. So weird. But wonderful too

I've tried cowboy bebop twice. About five episodes. I know something is wrong with me. Next time I get sick I'll try again.

Never heard of Berserk

Read some of hxh in shonen jump. Wow. Totally forgot I bought like a dozen of those over a decade ago. It seemed a little silly with the power levels of it's the one i remember. I actually tried the show but lost interest when they were in a big tournament and started discovering they had like powers? Or that they could power up? Felt goofy. Should I stick it out?

Ghost in the shell - been meaning to check this out

Akira? The live action big eyed thing? I don't remember hating that movie. But I don't remember much at all it

Studio Ghilbi is fun. I really wish I saw my neighbor Totoro before I was a grown ass man so I felt the magic more lol. I actually haven't seen anything others but they have rave reviews. Occasionally my local theater shows the films and I've been trying to see the wolf howling castle or whatever it's called

Yeah - Context matters.

Is Kill la kill the one my friend watches with the talking clothes? Cause I can't, my dude. Hahaha

Forgot to mention I enjoyed AOT. Saw one punch but thought it was too meta for me. My friend said it's good because it plays on tropes. But idk. Sucks cause I LOVE that artist. He drew a series called Eyeshield 21 about a Japanese (American) football team. It was funny as hell but my goodness, that art is incredible. Yusuke Murata

Ugh I'm gonna post some. It's just so gah damn beautiful

Oh I see!

Are you passionate? A strong center vs MAGA is great for y'all, right? In an ideal world - next election wouldn't it be awesome to have a far left represented in a presidential debate?

I'm all for it, friendo

Although it is not known how Curtis and Arthur acquired the egg, staff said the most likely scenario was that the egg "was abandoned by another couple".

Yeah they know

My condolences

Apple's upcoming fourth-generation iPhone SE is set for a 2025 release, marking a significant milestone in its transition to OLED technology across all iPhone models. This move will finally bring the iPhone SE in line with Apple's flagship devices, which have been using OLED displays since the iPhone X debuted in 2017.

So just bringing the SE line up to date

The FBI has failed to report some child sexual abuse allegations to local law enforcement or social service agencies even after changes prompted by its handling of the case against former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, according to a Justice Department watchdog report released Thursday.

In a review brought on by the FBI’s failures to promptly investigate Nassar, the inspector general found serious problems persist that run the risk of child sexual abuse allegations falling through the cracks as overworked agents juggle dozens of cases at a time. In one case, a victim was abused for 15 months after the FBI first received a tip about a registered sex offender, the report said.

I'd love to see more money going towards fixing these agencies.

Yeehaw!
