I'm 21 with zero tech background. But I wanted a reddit replacement so bad that I somehow figured out how to use Lemmy lol.
I still don't understand how it works and how to make my own community, but I'm happy just getting to comment and post. Being part of the birth of a new social media is also nice.
Mobile devices have become like 20x more powerful in the last 10 years lol. Found my Dad's old Galaxy S3 while cleaning the house, and it was still in working condition. Just soo freaking slow cause all the websites and were made for better hardware.
I can still see NSFW on boost WDYM?
Boost was the sole way of using reddit. Now if I REALLY need to find something on reddit, I'll do that on old reddit, on my PC. Will save a lot of time by not being on that shit app.
I went to do that and saw that there already was a 2 star review from 6 years ago lol. Changed that to 1. 1
Honestly I've been addicted to reddit for several years, and it even had negative consequences for my life. When I was depressed I just used reddit all day and became obsessed with the subreddit moderated. I deleted that account and now I'm in a much better place but that constant urge to open reddit is still there.
Before July 1 my reddit usage was around 2 hours every day, now it's been 0 for 5 days.
So I'd like to Thank Reddit admins for this.
