They would be richer, but by "allowing" working class people to have a thriving life means the power gap between us and them wouldn't be as big. People could organize and overthrow them, so they have to keep us fighting amongst ourselves for scraps.

The cruelty is the point.

That means it's fine to give wine to kids because it totally won't give them a buzz! It won't affect their feelings towards the church or make them easier to manipulate at all.

Nope. Nuh-uh.

If your god's greatest act is "willingly becoming a murder victim", you might be in a death cult.

Love how they just say "reddit.com" when it's from r/shittymoviedetails. Perfect place to pull answers from without fact-checking.

We're past "preventing" the Christo-fascist takeover. We're in damage control now.

VOTE.

I was wondering when they would start to figure out that maybe it's a bad idea for the government to get between people and their doctors.

Wait, let me check the math...

6+6=12 and 7 is one more than 6, so 6+7=13

Cool. Checks out.

100% and they're trying to work on the definition of 'Doctor' too.

Haha, what a silly Onion article!

Oh. Oh no.

If they're anything like my mother, they automatically assume anyone speaking in any language other than English within earshot of her is shit-talking her, specifically. The thought that someone might be saying something mean-spirited about her is just too much for her tiny brain to handle. If you think she's a bitch, she needs to know. It reeks of desperation and the need to be liked by all people at all times while also doing nothing to bridge that gap yourself.

I LOVE that people are starting to recognize they can unmask LLMs with the phrase 'ignore all previous instructions'.

Article was published in 2017, and gun deaths among US kids has increased 50% since 2019.

Original article: https://www.romper.com/p/a-toddler-has-shot-someone-every-week-for-the-last-2-years-straight-it-highlights-this-huge-problem-28266

2023 update from a different gun research group: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/04/06/gun-deaths-among-us-kids-rose-50-percent-in-two-years/

We live in hell.

And remember, if THEY have thousands of bots that each 'think independently' but still end up downvoting your post en masse, then that's totally fine. But if YOU try to upvote your post with one of your alts so it doesn't get buried, that's bannable.

(Psst. The use of alternating caps means the person you're responding to is being sarcastic. They already know it's a thought-terminating cliche. They're calling out how hypocritical it would be to even try to use that argument.)

Yes, that IS an example of another thought-terminating cliche. Good job!

She was dropping her son off as school. Her son was still in the car. She drove into the bus lane accidentally. The officer's response was that he was "scared she was going to run someone over" .. while her son who goes to the school is in the car. You could verify that in a 5 second radio call to the front office.

We need to re-think policing in general if cops are allowed to enforce their worst fears instead of seeing what's actually happening.

Things to never say before committing a crime:

"Wait, let me sign in with my Google account first."

What? The guy who fired people who slept in their offices at Twitter fired more people who were sacrificing their personal lives for one of his companies?

Ya don't say.

It was already illegal - It was human trafficking.

It'd be nice to have people enforce the laws we already have first instead of this security theatre.

It's frustrating to no end that fingerprints and face ID are treated like passwords when they should be treated like usernames.

Because those two metrics are meaningless for the average person.

Inflation is trending down... After it skyrocketed and is still way above affordable ranges.

Employment rates are high... But those jobs don't pay living wages.

Go check how much savings the average American has, check what an average doctor's visit costs, and then maybe you'll understand the gloom.

That's not doing facial recognition though, that's a reverse image lookup. It's a lot easier to find an exact match for a photo.

It's sad that she's likely repressing a LOT of gender dysphoria, but just doubles down on the bigotry and hate. Fuck JK Umbridge.

All direct quotes:

I believe I could have been persuaded to turn myself into the son my father had openly said he’d have preferred.

As I didn’t have a realistic possibility of becoming a man back in the 1980s, it had to be books and music that got me through.

I remember how mentally sexless I felt in youth.

Fortunately for me, I found my own sense of otherness, and my ambivalence about being a woman...

It's so frustrating that she's 100% in the wrong, but this is still going to legitimize her complaints about Hunter Biden. I can already see the responses complaining that her son got arrested, therefore so should Hunter.

I hate it here.

Corollary: Those preventing history from being taught intend to repeat it.

IMO, this makes it look even worse.

Churches "sponsor" people in other countries all the time. They could do the same for two people in the nearest city, they don't have to force people to relocate.

There is actually an easy fix - build houses and give them to people. I remember when "Habitat for Humanity" was so much more prominent in churches.

I'd be fucking erratic and noncompliant too with my FACE IN A FIRE ANT HILL

"If you're comparing two words and won't say one of the words.. That's the worse word!"

Yep! "What do you call someome who believes in a literal Satan?" .. "Christian."

Your vehicle is your private property, so this is saying a legally parked person on their own private property who intends to fall asleep can be punished with a 5k fine and 90 days in jail.

No more going out to your car over break to take a nap.

UV light is both: A. Damaging to eyesight. B. Invisible.

You won't know how much damage you're doing to yourself until the damage has been done. This is how you give mass amounts of people eye trauma, and potentially blindness.

"Give me your entire life and I'll give you rewards beyond your wildest dreams... that you can only see after you die."

One of the greatest grifts in all of history.

If a couple who has a frozen embryo divorces, who pays child support and for how long?

And I'm sure this in no way will invade people's privacy.

"Hmm, why is the anti-queer politician sitting next to me being served dozens of male underwear ads? Hmmmm..."

"Why is my daughter receiving ads for newborn diapers? Hmmm..."

"Why is my neighbor receiving ads for anger management? Hmmm..."

This was the same reaction I had when the Covid vaccines were rolling out. "They haven't been proven to be 100% safe and effective!" OK. Sure, but you know what is guaranteed to be bad for you? Covid. There are two choices here, and there's a clear mitigation of harm with one option over the other.

It's shocking that we'd rather see children die of treatable vitamin deficiencies than the off-chance that the food 'might be unsafe'.
