Peertube channels seem to show up like communities in Lemmy. For example: !techlore@neat.tube

Ok, I tested commenting, and comments actually appear on the PeerTube side (https://tilvids.com/w/41f5284e-b79e-4c84-97e5-664a6ac5a1ee shows my comment). On the lemmy side, only my comment appears (https://lemmy.ml/post/1979848)

You may need to wait for your instance to retrieve the content.

I mainly use Signal, but sometimes have to fall back to SMS for people that aren't on Signal. I also have matrix accounts, but I never really use them since I don't have anyone among my friends and family that uses matrix.

Yep, I have the same result from whois

Yeah, nearly three years ago when I first saw Lemmy I found the idea so cool but I didn't expect people not interested in fun rust projects to actually come here. And here we are now with an active platform with a wide variety of users !

LineageOS on a Fairphone 3. It works well for what I do on my phone.

It's usually that you were the first to try to access the channel from your instance. So your instance has to federate with the other instance, which can take a while to fully take place (and I think that it only tries to get pre-federation content on request). I think that if you tried again, you should now see some content.

Yes liberapay doesn't take any commission.

No, I don't think so. I still think that it requires a different phone number on each phone. But I agree with you that it is annoying that they do not allow it, especially since they could simply imitate the functionality that exists on the desktop apps.

I hate the current trend of open worlds everywhere.

It makes sense for some games (e.g., Skyrim, GTA), but most games would be much better with a more linear world. The open worldness just makes most games boring after 10-15 hours of gameplay, in particular when game devs like to include collectible quests everywhere.

I'm not sure what's going on with comments. Existing comments on peertube don't seem to show up on Lemmy.

I feel like karma is a bad metric to track quality contributions, especially if it is global to all communities. It's far too easy to farm. People that make useful contributions in specific communities will be known over time by other members of said community anyway.

I would agree with most about DA:O and Awakening. I consider that DA2 is also a good game, BUT it is really different from DA:O, and I feel like I liked it more after having replayed it later on.

I don't really like DA:I, and it is only worth it if you also play the endgame DLC, because the base game ending is really underwhelming. And, the game managed to implement everything that I hate about "Open World" games.

This. It makes it much more unlikely to see tons of reposts, and as such it will be easier to see new interesting stuff.

Sad but true 😢

I have the exact same opinion as you do. I really don't understand the hype around zelda games.

What paid plan do you use ? If it's not the ultimate plan, do you often go over the “limit” ? I'm interested, but I have a hard time knowing what plan I will actually require.
