Because These Things Shouldn’t Hide in Closed Git Conversations

Ironic, because the previous post about the toxicity of LadyBird dev in this community was also closed.

Why should I even care about devs attitude or toxicity at all? People have to learn to separate developer from their software.

Type this:

apt install firefox

Into your terminal on Ubuntu and you'll see what is anti-customer.

Plasma needs stability

Yeah, let's not mention Gnome breaking every peace of itself every update, along with abandoning APIs and hating QT apps. How can I use a DE, if I can almost certainly be sure that half of my extensions won't work after another update? Or that all of my QT apps will look weird (if they'll work at all)?
And I don't hate Gnome. It's cool and stuff, but you can't call it stable, 'cause KDE/XFCE/LXDE/[insert DE name here] will be far more stable than Gnome.

Cool, but why's that all of a sudden?

I use KDE, because it runs perfectly on wayland and covers 100% of my needs.
Budgie looks very promising now and I want to explore it further. Also LXQT is perfect for older devices or if you want a KDE, but simplier.

OnionShare is FOSS and transfers files over TOR network.

Usually, that isn't happening and big projects just stay at Github, which is kinda sad.

Finetunes

Did you mean “Fintunes”?

You can install Firefox only as a snap on Ubuntu. There's no native package on the official repo.

fooyin is a music player built around customisation. It offers a growing list of widgets to manage and play your local music collection. It's extendable through the use of plugins and many widgets make use of FooScript to offer an even deeper level of control.

Audio playback is supported by FFmpeg alongside multiple options for output including ALSA and PipeWire, with more to come.

Anytype is actually amazing. It has all the opportunities to become the best Notion replacement.

I use it as a secondary email (Proton is primary).
Works great and IMAP support isn't necessary for me. Also I like Tuta's UI way more than Gmail's or Proton's.

Too bad Floorp is now proprietary.

No problems for me on NVIDIA laptop after KDE 6.0 has landed. I mean, no problems at all. And I didn't even get explicit sync yet.

Oh, I didn't know that! Gonna edit my comments, thanks.
Still, this «don't fork my project, plz» thing is kinda bad, tbh.

I'm already a little familiar with Docker, but I'll definetly need to get to know it better. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definetly look into these channels. Btw, I already know about awesome-selfhosted, but I'll need to spend some more time going through the whole list and picking what suits me best.

Exactly, it was open-source, but then they decided to move some code to the private repos.
EDIT: Check out my first comment.

Imo, using XFCE today (as some people suggested in this thread) is a bad choise, as it is virtually unmaintained, slow and not lightweight at all.
You should be perfectly fine with LXDE or LXQT on top of vanilla Debian

Why can't you just share direct youtube link? Not everyone uses Invidious, my LibRedirect extension could handle redirection by itself.
