Ha, I remember playing that. I got in trouble and was grounded from playing computer games for a while. But one night my parents had friends over and I was bored. They felt bad and bent the rules slightly and let me play that game. Thanks for reminding me!

I miss the early days of Netflix when that held true too. If I remember right piracy was down too. But everyone wanted a piece of the stupid pie and we’re back to where we started all over again

Hey I completely agree with your comment, but I wanted to give you a heads up the saying is “can’t fathom the idea”

Man, I was working a desktop support job when they first started to use magnets in the laptops for the closed lid mechanism. I was trying to set up a laptop and I for the life of me couldn’t get the screen to turn on.

After like an hour of trying to figure it out and a call to Dell support, I shifted the laptop and the screen turned on. Stupid laptop was so thin the magnet from the laptop under it was causing it to think it was closed.

Yeah, I was agreeing and relating it to the good ol days when pirating for a one asp experience wasn’t needed unless you really wanted to.

Now we’re back to that’s the only way to easily get it all in one place is pirating. Apple TV seems to sort of have that ability but it’s not seamless because it takes you to whatever app the video is on, which still means you have to pay for all the streams.

Yep, a long while ago.

Valve has been pretty chill about letting people make fan games based on their IP as long as they ask Papa Gaben first.

Bill Gares, Linus Torvald, or Steve Jobs depending with unclean OS you use.

You can see Terry Davis if you use the one true OS, TempleOS

I still wanted to try it out and see if it’s just stupid fun or just plain garbage. Now I can find out for myself without spending hard earned money that I can spend on other disappointing things instead!

“Welcome to Mos Eisley. Climb this tower and push a button to discover important waypoints in the city.”

What a Luntz

The industry actually tried to get people to stop calling them laptops because people kept burning themselves badly in the early days of portable computers when they would get hot af

First, the key being tied to the motherboard is more specifically when you purchase a prebuilt machine and not an off the shelf license.

Second, Microsoft is pushing heavily at tying the keys to a Microsoft account. That way they can more easily track number of activations. To recover a key on a new computer you just sign into your Microsoft account and it’ll activate it. It’s far easier than a key and easier to keep track of vs a key as well.

You might be able to buy a license at a large retailer, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find it hard to buy a key printed on a piece of paper now.

I just spent the last like 45 minutes and I can’t find anything definitive. My guess is the other posters are correct and gore probably pushed it up while in the US gore is fine.

The article says in Japan it’s rated Z which means banned from sale to anyone under 18 so that’s probably why they’re doing this.

Agreed. I enjoyed red faction guerrilla for the destruction but the open world always felt kind of empty. Armageddon was cool, but I wasn’t a fan of the linear gameplay.

A proper sequel would’ve made me so happy, but no, Embracer has to ruin everything it touches.

Per Wikipedia, yes. A game console is the general term. A home console is the one that plugs into a tv, and a handheld console is something like a switch.

Isn’t that how it works on every platform though?

Sometimes it’s nice to validate the idea you have to see if there’s anything you need to change

The problem is with DRM owning a physical copy of a recent game doesn’t mean squat. It also wasn’t a gap for older generations since CDs were a terrible medium to store and verify games since they scratch easy.

The fight will always be you want to own the thing you buy, and companies will want to stop people who didn’t buy it from using it. This fight has been going on since the original DOOM was freely passed around.

I work in IT, specifically desktop support. Over the last decade I’ve moved up into management and I’ve always had that feeling of things are going to fall to the ground any minute now. Everything is overwhelming and how can I possibly keep up. I just need to work faster. I decided to get tested when I moved into management and it got even harder to keep track of everything. I was diagnosed with combined adhd as well as moderate depression and anxiety maybe 6 months after that.

The thing that helped me most with getting a handle on my job has been medication, especially adderall/vyvanse (I like adderall better, but this ongoing shortage sucks). It can still be hard to concentrate, but I have a much easier time figuring out what needs to be done and being able to concentrate on that and somewhat ignore all the millions of other things that I need to pay attention to.

As long as you expect yourself to fail, it’ll eventually happen. Even if you’re doing a perfect job, you’ll burn yourself out with the stress of feeling like you’ll eventually fail. One thing that could help, if you don’t already, keep a task list as well. Even if it’s reminders of the things you need to do. I’ve found having that has helped me remember the next day or even later that same day the things I need to do.

What do you need to do to get from a provisional ADHD diagnosis to a full one? And have you mentioned to your doctor the anxiety you have for work?

A soup can, I think.

Epic games says I own a game but it’s the same where I don’t actually own it, I just own a license to download the game from their servers. Pretty sure it’s the same on PSN, too

Maybe I misunderstood the original question

As far as I know, more or less yes

I think there were multiple mod teams working on their own ideas for half life 3 but I’ve given up looking up their progress.

Pretty much any shooter that plays like Quake or Doom

I think so if you set up your account with your ms account. I did the same thing and it was able to activate no problem automatically if I reinstalled. You should be able to log into your office 365 account and you should be able to see your licenses in there, I just don’t remember where lol

In case I misunderstood, yes, you can buy them on the platform and then you own it the same way as any other platform. You can get a 20% discount on games that are still in game pass too.

Change one letter and you get “cum passion”. That sounds like a sex thing. Are you trying to do inappropriate things to children in the basement of your pizza arcade that may or may not exist!?!

The person’s linked article was saying the White House pharmacy was being fast and loose with controls on medication. It was getting to people who shouldn’t have it.

Which is crazy considering the Bacardi family had to escape from Cuba because of Castro’s takeover. So you’d think if any company would be against a hostile takeover, it would be them.

Valheim turned my group off when we accidentally wandered into a biome we weren’t ready for (and didn’t know) and were all one shot by those stupid mosquitos on the opposite side of the map from our camp and couldn’t get our stuff back. We had issues like that before but could always just barely recover our stuff. But those damned mosquitos? Nah.

But if Hello Games can take care of balance issues like that, I’m definitely willing to take a chance.
