Give Americans Universal Basic Income, healthcare, education etc and lives will improve in so many ways. Once this is done, automate as much as possible.

There is an open issue on GitHub regarding adding automatic call recording, but it is a low priority enhancement. GrapheneOS' default dialer already supports call recording.

If you would like to keep track of this issue, you can do so by checking out on the official GrapheneOS Issue tracker: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/2083

Omg so true!

OK. Thank you. I was misunderstanding and thought just opening the URL would fetch and display posts. Good to know

I agree 100% it's upsetting how little people know about technology they use everyday. To many and you, installing a new OS is easy as breathing air, to the average person, it's like learning to ride a bike for the first time. We have to slowly teach those, willing to listen and learn.

True true

I gotta get into Arch someday. How's your experience so far? Easy to use? (I'm sure it is, the wiki is very detailed) Glad to see you like GOS

If your phone is secure with screenlock, kept up to date and uses grapheneos than your banking should be safe. Using grapheneOS auto reboot feature would prevent anybody accessing private data stored in RAM , as it's all at rest after reboot

You can install on the devices that are listed here. https://grapheneos.org/faq#supported-devices

Ohh that is valid. I do miss that feature. Hopefully someday it is brought to AOSP

Only ever needed root when I used gingerbread devices

Majority of my apps are from github or f-droid repos

Permission toggles are are what things apps have access to, Grapheneos gives:

  • Sensors permission (this is how your phone can use sensors to determine if you are walking, moving, how far your phone is away from your face)

  • internet permission toggle (this allows you to control what apps can directly connect to the internet)

  • Storage Scopes (You can control what files or directory any app that uses legacy storage permissions have access to instead of blank allowing all files access to the app)

  • Contact Scopes (This allows, like Storage Scopes, for you to control what apps can access contacts and who's contact the app can or can not see)

You can and should give https://grapheneos.org/features a read.

As for banking apps, depending on what they are, may work. Paypal and some others work.

Pixel only for now, yeah.

Here's the list of officially supported pixels: https://grapheneos.org/faq#supported-devices

That is correct they are

It's harder for the average person. You have to know how to change device boot order in BIOS/UEFI, average person barely knows what an operating system is, let alone how to find their PC UEFI/BIOS setting menu to configure boot order. Grapheneos explains it clearly, how to install. You simply tap a few buttons on the browser and on the phone, when prompted.

Your first post, you claim that "so any zero day could be active right now" ... This can happen with open source software too. Your phone is way more secure than the average PC running debian.

They stepped down.

It's overwhelming to a lot, if we want to teach, we shouldn't call them "lazy", they simply don't see the value in understanding or learning tech.

Good one! :)

In other words the person admits to being ableist as the API change is killing apps that help those with disabilities, unlike reddits app

More for fedi :)

Tankiebot I think it was on communities from lenmygrad

From what I see. I believe this

Heya same hereeee ❤

A lot more use discord I noticed which isn't much more secure IMO only slightly better, but still not E2EE

If you are willing to buy a pixel from a store that resells them you'd evade paying google. You can get GrapheneOS which IS a very secure OS ... They have a feature called Sandboxes Google Play which is compatible with overwhelming majority of apps compared to MicroG. I think you'd really like what grapheneOS has to offer

Please know that Sandboxed Google Play does not use any additional privileges and makes googles apps run in sandbox like any random app you install would.

I recommend grapheneos.org they offer regular and timely updates and offer a lot of very good security features such as contact/storage permission scopes (choose what contacts/files an app can access instead if being forced to allow all access or no access. I recommend at least giving it a look. I think you'll love it if you want privacy and security. Have a look at the website, they offer way more than I have typed here. If you have questions I can answer them

I'd recommend getting that pixel. They have 5 years of support with security patches. Do know that the 5 years is with newer devices from 6/6a & up

Open Settings > Press About Phone > press Build Number until a toast notification says "You are now a developer". You may be prompted to type in your lock screen password before the toast message is shown.

Once you have done the above. Go back to the main screen of the settings menu > Press System > Developer Options > Bug Report. Follow the on screen instructions to choose the best style of bug report to create. Once you have made your selection, precede to call and press call record again to capture any possible logs.

Please remember, once you have captured your log to head back to developer options and disable them by pressing the toggle located on the far top right of the screen.

Awesome👍

I think you should take the plunge, grapheneOS is very easy to install with the web installer https://grapheneos.org/install/web and an overall easy to use and setup os :)

Would you please be able to post this on the issue tracker, if not already there?

May you please specify the GrapheneOS build number that is found in the Device Settings > About > Build Number, along with the device model you are using?

You can copy paste the build number by pressing and holding it.

Would you be able to provide logs captured during call when this issue happens?

It's not easily block able as it scrapes the YouTube website. They'd have to stop having a website for that to happen.

This upgrade disabled 2FA for new logins

I hate SMS as a whole. It needs to be replaced with something modern.
