Surprised to see Grape so many times! The fake grape flavor of grape candy is my favorite!

The article says he thinks there wasn’t enough time for someone to complain, the restaurant staff was using it as an excuse.

“He said: "After entering I noticed a cash-only sign, so went straight back outside to withdraw my money.

"I went back into the restaurant to place an order, and they told me to 'please leave', because in their words I was 'scaring the customers', and there had been complaints about me."

He added: "There had not been enough time between the time I had been there first, and the time I went back, for anyone to have made a complaint about me so obviously the restaurant staff were not happy with the way I looked." “

I feel like DLC is just a re-branding of ‘expansion packs’ that we used to have in the 90s.

Yeah I play FH5 and have not touched the DLC. I feel like there is more than enough cars and content in the base game that I will probably never get to as is. It's just a chill game for me, drive around the beautiful scenery, relax, and do a race here or there.

I agree completely, I was just trying to say I think that was the beginning of it. I never touch cosmetic DLC but I at least consider DLC that adds story or more content. I play Paradox games after all. :-)

Linux

Yep, at the end of the day it’s so much nicer to lay in bed to play vs. sit at my PC desk. I play so much more of my backlog now.

So I can either wait 5 seconds in silence, or have to watch a 5 second (possibly longer) ad? I know which one I’ll choose.

I don’t get why anyone pays attention to these wannabe Hollywood producers like him or Todd Howard. The most interesting and innovative things in gaming are NOT happening in the AAA space.

Not all of us want promotions or ‘mentoring’. Some of us just want to do our job and log off with a minimum of crap.

I’m 40 and I’d rather play a video game than watch a movie.

Got sick of being sold to, when they got rid of third party apps I bailed.

‘Scene’ kids were the Hot Topic emo kids when I was a teenager 20ish years ago. As someone who was into 2nd wave emo, it always made me die a little that ‘Scene’ is what most people think of when they hear ‘emo’.

They’ll get to it after they agree on the best Linux distro.

I am so glad we managed to buy something in November 2019. Our state (MD) even had a first-time homebuyer program that gave us an interest-free ‘loan’ to get us out of PMI, only needs to be paid back if we sell or refinance. We make it work on 75k/yr total income somehow, although it’s gotten harder and harder. Seriously, we had a small car payment ($250/month, paid off in the last few years) when we bought the house that we could probably not afford now. We also have to basically restrict eating/going out to special occasions only, but that’s not so bad.

Just thankful we were able to find a decent modest home in a nice little town in our state. My heart goes out to everyone struggling now!

Edit: also meant to add that going by what Zillow says our home is ‘worth’ now, we couldn’t afford it today.

As someone who has a client who is an automotive OEM (I work with Customs and Imports), most of the parts are made by suppliers, who use parts from other suppliers, and barely anything is done in-house except maybe final assembly, so your comment totally tracks.

It’s suppliers all the way down LOL.

I played this game and loved it but never finished it. I feel like I was either too dumb to figure out what to do next, or I could tell what I needed to do but couldn’t maneuver my ship/character well enough. Total skill issue on my part, though I intend to dive back in at some point.

This. I’ve been at my job for a year as a remote out of state employee. All of the sudden, they decided we needed weekly team meetings and virtual team building when we had none before. My job is not collaborative, everyone on the team has a different role and most things can be handled over email/teams. I like my coworkers, but we’ve been working great together without all this crap. Even my manager doesn’t like it but it’s being forced on her from higher up, half the time she doesn’t have anything to share at the team meeting that couldn’t have been a one sentence email.

Edit to add: oh and these weekly team meetings have cameras on required, when before any of the few meetings we had never required this. Seems like one of the higher up read some article about ‘building virtual teams’ and went to town without actually stopping to think whether it fits.

This article really confused me because I thought Below Zero was Subnautica 2, LOL.

All I can think of is Strong Bad’s vector graphic head appearing and saying stuff like ‘your head a-splode’ in that voice you describe. :-)

I am so sorry, that is a horrible story. It is not your fault!

Completely agree. Just had to vent.

Man, I am constantly blocking Anime communities on my ‘all’ feed and they keep popping up like weeds. It never ends…

Turned TPM on so I could install 11, worked great for a while then all of the sudden the computer refuses to boot with TPM enabled. Mobo mfg won’t help me, so I downgraded back to 10 and plan on jumping to Linux in Oct 2025.

They did make a new Bill & Ted a few years ago. I keep meaning to get around to watching it.

So am I hallucinating that a few months ago when he was removed the Internet loved him? I feel like that consensus turned quick.

Also, he reminds me of one of my favorite lines from MST3K: ‘Sorry about your face’

That’s how I’ve felt about The Sims since the first one. It was so boring making my Sim go to work, come home, eat, go to bed, shower, etc. I bounced off it hard and never went back. If someone likes it, good for them, but I’ve never gotten it.

Works better in dry environments. Went to California for the first time and finally understood the wonder of shade in a ‘dry heat’. In the mid-Atlantic where I live it just always feels like a hot wet blanket, shade or no shade.

My use case is being able to play my PC games while laying bed/on the couch, and also have them on vacation when not near my desktop.

This isn’t really an answer, but I managed to find a fully remote job with minimal meetings. I can engage with my coworkers over Teams chat, but most of the time we leave each other alone. I like everyone I work with, but like you I’m not looking for a friendship.

I completely agree about it being the providers responsibility. The problem is, they don't want to do anything to resolve the issue either. Other times, it doesn't even involve the provider, they did everything right but for some byzantine reason it didn't go through the insurance system correctly and you have to call them and tell them to process it the same way they have processed every other exact same bill from the exact same provider.

Just wanted to vent. I should clarify I live in the US (as if that wasn't clear from my post LOL!)

Slime Rancher might be worth looking into.

lol nah. I work for a sane company/boss. Fully remote.

Haha exactly! I mean, I know this is how it works, it just feels like it’s gotten way worse in the last few years.

And not even all desk jobs. My job is supporting a manufacturing client with their imports. Until both them and the courier/shipping lines decide to change to a four day work week, I’m going to need to be ready to field urgent HTS and document requests, even though I work a remote desk job.

Star Control 2

I think we had this exact computer when I was growing up.

Yes! The first SBEmail I ever saw back when it was new…I feel old.
