Adorable compliance!

Tale as old as time, lose a dollar to save a penny

Wow, the fediverse at work: I posted on kbin and you're replying from lemmy! This is awesome!

Honestly, I agree. I am not tech savvy, I am actually a pretty basic user of the internet. I just followed the link provided in a post, registered on Kbin, and started enjoying it.

Now, Lemmy did give me more trouble, and it's the reason I am on Kbin, but even then it was more a matter of having to wait for confirmation. By the time it came I found I preferred Kbin "graphics" (don't know how to explain it better).

Really can't understand what people find so difficult. Even the fediverse isn't a difficult concept: you sign up in one site, you can see posts from other sites too. Simple as that. There's nothing complicated if you're just an user and not someone who has to make it work

This is actually a pretty good story, I can feel the second hand satisfaction!

It works both ways!

That would be problematic, because the problem is not plastic itself, but its use. Plastic has allowed countless medical and scientific benefits, such as ureteral stents, stents for aneurysms, catheters... And these are just the examples that came to mind on the fly.

Honestly, I consider myself mostly a normy, at least when it comes to technology, and I am having a blast on Kbin!

Excellent explanation!

I am not American... But I have to say, this sounds just so comically evil it seems something only a badly written cartoon villain would say, like "I will kick all puppies and banish chocolate"

Is Goodreads bad? I use it a lot, but would it be better/more ethical to change like with reddit?

Damn... You just blew my mind O_O

I'm not a native English speaker, so I probably messed up the saying 😅

I wonder why people are so unreasonable sometimes...

This is the best meme I have seen this week! You won the internet!

Cheat answer: read OP's username!

Am European, can confirm!

Very cute! And I vote for kbeanauts to become or new collective name!

Unfortunately I have no idea how you could do it, but I upvoted, boosted and commented to make the tread more visible!

That man was disgusting... Glad you found a way to fight back

Pitching in from Kbin! Thank you for opening this community in the Fediverse!

Honestly, I was thinking about making a post about the exact same thing, but I am glad you beat me to it because you are obviously much more informed and articulated than I would have been!

I agree, Reddit will go on and make money, but it will be a much different place, more like Facebook or Instagram, in that it will be full of ads and less specific information. It will cease to be a niche space and become another, more generalized social for a more generalized public.

In short: we, aka the people who migrated, simply are not their intended target anymore

Honestly, I hope all of the Fediverse's instances get indexed!

Super Mario 64! I still have a functioning Nintendo64, but I also have the official switch version!

Personally I prefer Kbin to lemmy; as other have said, we must put into account that kbin is much younger that lemmy, but @ernest has been amazing in managing to keep it all running when the users went basically from 0 to 1000 in a matter of hours!

This needs to be top comment!

In my case, in the paste week I've done it again and again, but every time I close and reopen kbin, it's back to all... So I just chalk it up to a bug of the site

This makes me think of the Fremen Stillsuit from "Dune"

Wondering the same thing...

Super Mario 64!

OMG, you're right! Now I'm disappointed in myself for not seeing it lmao

This is the way

The "fediverse" wasn't prepared for the sudden onslaught of users it is receiving from all instances these days... I'd say it will take a few weeks before everything stabilizes and all instances get an upgraded infrastructure.
Let's just be patient!

Hell yeah! Welcome aboard!

Thank you!

OMG, there's a third party app with dark mode!!!! Goodreads app doesn't have it, which I hate with a passion... I'm sold, just started the import process of my books from goodreads to bookwyrm!

I feel the need to answer this with this gem from Mitchell and Webb!

I have no idea how to install this... I am using the kbin PWA on android, can someone ELI5?
