I make decent money and live in Texas. My wife is currently pregnant and the state's policies on maternal care during pregnancy scares the shit out of me. In the case of a medical emergency money doesn't buy time.
The education policies being pushed by the state government are also terrible and private schools are not really any better in that regard. We could homeschool but I am not interested in that for my child.
The general rhetoric demonizing and taking the basic human rights of immigrants, LGBT, and other marginalized communities is also really hard to hear.
Several mass shootings as schools and public places with no interest in taking any kind of preventative actions is disgusting.
The property taxes have become a significant burden on our housing price with no sign of that changing anytime soon.
The state government is opernly corrupt and hostile to anyone who is not a Republican and quietly hostile to the Republicans who aren't high income, powerful, or political donors. Look at our power grid and the states actions after the freeze.
Money can't buy your way out if any of these. We stay because our families live nearby and we want our kids to grow up around them. If I could convince them to move with us, I would leave in a second despite living here for the last 30 years.
It would be funnier if there wasn't a sizeable percentage of people who support the cheetoh. There is still a real chance of that demented racist pos winning come november.
Don't forget, he is the leading candidate for that party too...
Someone check the pizza trackers around the Pentagon. If it's busy, we are in trouble
Boss makes a thousand, you make a buck.
Go steal the catalytic converters off the company truck.
Gross, Arrowhead water. Don't support Nestlé.

Yeah but Biden is old
Kind of the flip of the question but far cry 5 was particularly infuriating when it came to bullshit plot devices that override the players choices/skills. The boss fights were rigged with fixed outcomes regardless of what you hit the boss with. The fact that you could hit an unarmored human in the head with a rpg and see the explosion but the game was just like "yeah but the story says he's alive so he's alive. Also he is about to wreck your shit for... reasons..." drove me crazy...
Every election for the rest of our lives is the most important election of our lives. Don't ever forget what has been done. Vote like your life and the world depend on it because frankly, they do. If you want another generation to grow up even close to the same quality of life we've had, it is critical to recognize that one party has been actively rolling back protective legislation over and over again against the better interest of the people of thos country and the world. Its absolutely disgusting.
No it won't. The problem causers can afford air conditioning.
Frankly, I am amazed it has not already happened in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin. The power grid here in Texas is a disaster and the weather conditions are unforgiving. At least in the desert you can do evaporative cooling. That doesn't work where its hot and humid.
Im a straight white male and I don't particularly feel safe living in Texas. This state has become a shitshow.
Windows media center alone is worth resurrecting win7 for.
Welcome to The Jungle originally by Upton Sinclair, now a live experience brought to you by the SCOTUS' lack of ethics.
The fact that he got all pissy and started talking over the moderators when they did explain something saying essentially you agreed you weren't going to fact check us but now you are fact checking me is really telling.
Yep, no one else will.
Texas passed a law in 2022 preventing Texas from doing business with companies that "boycott Israel" can we somehow get rid of Cruz and Cornyn for this? https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/GV/htm/GV.2271.htm
Remember through, he loves "the uneducated"
They are likely IP rated in some form or fashion, that means they are rated for protection for a period of time at a certain depth. Deeper water or longer time in water means you still get water past the seals.
It could also be a control fault or short on the electrical side allowing the other components to catch fire or overloading the batteries causing them to overheat and catch fire.
Nah, it will just become YOUTUBE SEARCH, YOUTUBEMAIL, YOUTUBECHAT, and YOUTUBEMAPS
Google made lots of stuff that I used and enjoyed, then slowly made them worse or outright killed them off. Hangouts was imo the gold standard of simple chat programs, their podcast app was excellent and ad free. Both are now gone.
They also have been ceaselessly working to wring every last cent out of their products at the expense of the user experience. The products and services were fine and they were making loads of money even with adblocking and tracker blocking in place but they knew they could make more money and most people would just accept the inconvenience so they said fuck em and ran with it.
The fast food chain Dairy Queen is different than those branded "DQ". It is not a real Dairy Queen unless it is written out fully and does not use the DQ logo on the store. I will not elaborate further nor eat at DQ. There are still a few real stores in really small towns.
Pinch and rule, don't scratch
Yeahhhhhh, I used to recommend his channel to young engineers and techs because of how thorough he was at explaining the how and why of mechanisms. I don't anymore which is a shame because he was knowledgeable.
Don't forget Hillary's emails, she is literally unelectable.
I am curious as to what the repeated knocking on ~30 minute intervals that was picked up on sonar ends up being if not from the sub.
The boss from Saints Row
The awesome thing is that those marks can be counterfeit and you only know by looking up the number.
Part of it is because our congressional districts are drawn like a bowl of spaghetti. In statewide elections it matters less but congressional districs were specifically drawn to pack and crack votes here.
I was trying to figure out why 1) Alice Cooper was considered a podcaster first, and 2) why he had appeal with that demographic.
The final season which ret-conned all the weird stuff post Burnie was supposed to come out last fall and is still not out. I'm not super hopeful it will now.
John Dies at the End is a good b/c/campy movie. It is absolutely not 1:1 to the books (which are good) but its a weird fun movie.
Is it the flavor of the orange fruit or the flavor of the color orange? n o o n e k n o w s
There is a difference between realizing that the money you pay in taxes pays for stuff that benefits the citizens vs the govenrment is taking my money and using it on stupid things or wasting it.
They also conveniently forget/ignore that because we have relatively low taxes in the US, all the benefits like state funded college, universal healthcare, paid family leave, etc are just externalized onto you in the form of private insurance, tuition, and no family leave. I would happily pay more in taxes if it meant that was nationalized. You could damn near double my witholding and I would still come out ahead when you figure in the cost of private health insurance.
Our first kid cost $12000 out of pocket on private insuance that cost my wife and I $1400/month after my employer paid half of the monthly premium.
I fully expect my kids tuition to be over $100k by the time they are in college unless something changes.
Nah, the og motorola defy had removable battery, ip67 rating, expandable storage, and a headphone jack. It was a tiny phone and it was brilliant.
We don't want him back, you can keep him.
