I think both ideas can be true: that game development is a complex, creative endeavor and that as a product, consumers can be dissatisfied with a video game they paid $70 for.

Lately, I'm finding myself waiting for sales on AAA games because so many release in a buggy, incomplete state. This paid dividends with games like Jedi Survivor, that had a big number of bugs and performance issues at launch and plays decently now several months later.

I was excited for this game but this pisses me off. This is more egregious than when they locked classes behind DLC for Yakuza Like A Dragon (which was also really bad).

I blame Jim Ryan. PS should have never greenlit so many GaaS projects. Almost all of them were cancelled . Sony needs to focus what it does best: quality, single player games.

I think BG3 was such a hit because a) it released right around the time when D&D has become mainstream and b) it was iterated on for years in Early Access before being fully released.

I have a feeling that very few of these "40" upcoming games will hit the same chords as BG3.

I'd honestly be pretty upset if Sony decides to ditch PS5 right when the system is starting to hit it's stride now. I've already been playing more PC/Steam Deck compared to my PS5 and Switch.

I'm glad that Kotick is gone. I'm hoping Microsoft and the remaining ABK leadership can steer the company in a better direction.

Good. The Fandom pages are always slow and bloated to view.

Man, Reddit can get bent. Let's make their IPO fail miserably so they don't profit off this bullshit.

After the half-assed way the MGS Legacy Master Collection Vol 1 released, being poorly optimized and missing basic PC features like display settings at launch, I'd caution buying any Konami games at release.

I'm sure after trend chasing zombie media that trend chasing GaaS will go even better /S

I worry about Bend Studios..

It's really Ubisoft's call, not Nintendo's.

Aside from the occasional Google search that leads me to reddit, I do not post on reddit anymore. Not going to invest my time in a site that will become more unstable overtime or recognize user/moderator contributions to said site.

This is a bummer, especially with how much better
Rise can perform on the Steam Deck compared to the Switch version. Bad move on Capcom's part.

This was one of the best GDQs in recent memory. So glad that they're back in person because that energy from the crowd was sorely missed.

Unfortunately, we still have work to do to rightsize our company and I regret having to share that we are taking the painful step to reduce our headcount by just over 500 people across Twitch.

Absolutely hate that "rightsizing" is a term. It's called downsizing and it will have negative impacts on Twitch users, Twitch as a platform, and the 500 Twitch employees that will be out of a job now.

Maybe Twitch should be "rightsizing" CEO and Executive Suite salaries?

Man, fuck Embracer for scooping up Studios without a good long term plan to just to treat them as disposable.

I'm so tired of the AAA hype machine. Who cares, since this game is years away from a release and probably 3-4 years of post-release patches from being decent.

I thought CD Projekt would have learned from Cyberpunk's incredibly prolonged marketing campaign and it's remarkably shoddy release but I guess not.

Yay now bring it to Steam please and thank you

If you guys want to politely send Sega some feedback like I did, you can send their customers support a message here

E3 growing up was like having another Christmas to look forward to. Somewhat bittersweet that it's effectively gone but E3 has an identity crisis it needs to resolve first.

E3 was started as an industry networking event but overtime morphed to be a consumer facing show as well. With pre-recorded presentations being the norm, the Big 3 don't have any incentive to pay the ESA to have a space like that.

I think E3 needs to either revert back to an industry networking event or become a PAX-like consumer show.

Bots hate these 5 moderator tricks

A non-productive temper tantrum based on no evidence of impeachable conduct. Purely for politically points and not even remotely helpful in solving their illegal immigration "crisis".

Oh you're absolutely right haha Corrected that

Aside from the Scott Pilgrim re-release and Rayman Origins/Legends, I have not been interested by anything Ubisoft has put out in the last like 10-20 years.

They need to diversify their releases before a Ubisoft subscription service is even remotely a good value.

I just scooped the original on sale for $3. You can mod it to have it play decently and I don't think it requires a 3rd party launcher

I'm glad that it seems like they've turned around on this game but they cannot be revisionist about the performance of the game at launch. It was quite bad and we have receipts to prove it.

Hell yeah! Love to see more Godot-based games.

This would also be helpful

Yeah so far Shiren 5 is the only Mystery Dungeon game that has been ported to Steam. I'm honestly surprised that Chocobo Mystery Dungeon hasn't been ported over too.

Added one to the positivity pile. This game is a brilliant pick up and play game that is very undervalued for the content it contains.

Yeah, I feel like most Ubisoft games get a discount within at least a month of release.

Please be announced for PC too. I'd love to play this game at a reasonable performance

I have my criticisms of Biden but voting for Trump or a 3rd party candidate this election is not tenable if you want a semblance of a Democratic Republic to exist in the US.

Trump has already been on record saying a bunch of fascist shit like that he'll root out political opponents if elected and that he'll act like a dictator on day one.

Yeah, I feel like an HD-2D remake would be a better fit

Ah on a second read I see that now haha.

Yeah I'm basically waiting it out until the version with the NG+ DLC is half or more off. Incredibly obscene to lock an entire feature that way.

This was my favorite announcement from TGA.

Not sure what you mean. I get deals all the time using sites like gg.deals to cross reference multiple store fronts for PC deals for my Steam Deck, paying a fraction of what they would have cost on Switch.

The live service space is so crowded now that it would be difficult for even Naughty Dog to break into it successfully. Not to mention the fatigue around live service games lately. They made the right call by not trend chasing.
