... Whatever.

Not a childhood game, but the Japan-only SNES strategy RPG Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War is a great handheld emulator game! There's English patches for it.

Some random games from the mid 90s and earlier that I enjoyed when I was younger:

PS1: Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 9, Lego Racing

SNES: Final Fantasy 4, Super Mario World

GBA (not of this era, but they'll probably run on your Anbernic): Fire Emblem (any of the GBA games, but Blazing Blade aka just Fire Emblem is a great starting point), Metroid Fusion

GBC: Link's Awakening DX

Edit: GB: Donkey Kong 94

Game Boy Advance is probably one of the best handhelds. I totally agree on the PS1 - not quite sure if the Xbox 360 hits that threshold for me, though.

smuglord tankies are not bastions of logical and rational thought. hexbear is way, way out there - about as divorced from reality as is humanly possible

Lemmygrad and Hexbear are cool. IDK why you wouldn't like them if you're a leftist.

The voxel aesthetic of Minecraft and some indie games will probably be a source of nostalgia in the future.

That, and whatever Roblox is.

I think "selling ice to Eskimos" is the American equivalent. Naturally, the amerikkka version of this phrase: 1) involves an exonym that's a bit offensive 2) kinda makes doing a pointless exercise sound like a good thing.

The Shape of Water is a movie made by a guy obsessed with old movies. If you're not into the aesthetic of old monster movies and old movie musicals, I can see why you wouldn't enjoy it much.

I thought Ready Player One was pretty bad, especially considering that it had a large budget and an incredibly experienced director at the helm. The source material was just too sparse to pull out anything besides soypoint-1 soypoint-2

Why does it create a new tab when I open the app?

Settings -> Homepage -> Opening screen

I think you may need to change this to last tab or homepage after 4 hours of inactivity.

Why is 'every day' the lowest setting to remove them automatically and not when I close the app?

I'm not seeing anything in the settings. I hate having extra tabs open. They're completely useless to me. Does anyone have suggestions?

I'm less helpful here :(, I manually close them and like to leave tabs open for ages sometimes.

I could see The Less I Know the Better having some staying power.

I think I'll die if I hear a weird music kid from my child's generation talking about Death Grips in 10 years or so.

what if I get in some accident and have amnesia and cannot remember my master password

NGL, you'd probably have bigger problems than remembering passwords if that's the case.

Seconding the therapy suggestion.

You gave absolutely no context about what kinds of things your child enjoys in video games. Go figure that out first. If you don't know that, and you're taking the game he enjoys away he's 100% going to see it as a punishment.

I'm guessing we'd be lucky if Kurvitz writes another video game, let alone a new Disco Elysium deeper-sadness

Climate change means worse weather and more storm damage. Insurance companies need to make money off the deal so they raise rates or stop insuring properties.

Some kind of random stuff from the drug store or discount store. Just a "I put minimal expense and effort into getting this."

Natural disasters and other "acts of god" are becoming more relevant - especially as some states, like Florida, have more insurance companies pulling out. Flood insurance is often unaffordable too.

In its current implementation, absolutely.

You were asking for advice, and she gave you some solid suggestions. IDK why you're getting so bent out of shape.

Edit: Adding this article to maybe give you some more detail. Play the game with your kid and see what about it they enjoy. If you want to introduce them to better games, you'll need to have an idea about what they like.

Xirup's phone is hentai free. Lookin for it? Leave. hentai-free

Jokes aside, mangakakalot, mangalife, and manganato seem to work well and have a wide selection. If they're not working for you, maybe try a fresh install?

If you're delving into bootlegs, you might just need to be prepared to run into NSFW content, though.

Nuts and legumes are a staple of vegan diets

It's basically just beer-flavored soda. It has less than the required alcohol content (<0.5%) to be legally classified as an alcoholic beverage. Is it not regulated by the FDA?

I have no idea, but kombucha also has a tiny amount of alcohol in it and has a nutritional facts label in it.

Just absolutely desperate to wring out more revenue lmao

Definitely easier said than done, but you're right - if you're not enjoying the games, try something new to give them a break.

Never buy a AAA game on release. They're all buggy messes until a year or so in.

Congrats on the baby, and I wish you both get some sleep in the near future!

I honestly preferred using a baby monitor that didn't have too many techy features. The one I've had the longest was from Infant Optics - just their baseline model worked fine. No wifi or phone connections. It's just a basic video/audio monitor.

A shit candy bar, some random tube socks, and off-brand hair growth meds

Seconding Elden Ring. It's also going to be more active since people are hyped for the new content - which means you're more likely to get help if you need it.

It has a handful of QoL features too that'll make the learning curve more manageable

The movie adds in a fundamental misunderstanding of Mobile Suit Gundam (because they couldn't get Ultraman) and The Iron Giant lmao

You sound like someone who has never lived in a small space.

I think they had exclusive rights to the phone version of Into The Breach and funded the expansion for it

I agree with you.

As long as the adult trick-or-treater isn't excessively drunk/high, being pushy/grabbing too much candy, or otherwise ruining it for the kids, who cares?
