There was a controversial and sexist bait letter someone at Google wrote before being let go and it was heavily propped up by right wing media as an example and justification that everything Google does from now on is left wing because they're cancelling this poor sexist man.
My first long term job's company instructed HR to print out the letter and give a strong endorsement of it for seemingly no reason. It basically just read to me as, "Women have strongsuits other than business success like emotions and raising children and their lack of pay is actually justified and good." that they wanted to come from our female head of HR as opposed to our do nothing remote from Florida male CEO. These rich people are no smarter than anyone else, they just use bigger words as they stick their foot down their own throat.

Unfortunately the reason why they're able to act as if they're not a minority is largely because they receive very little meaningful criticism across media. The vulgarity of a statement receiving the same exact cycle of pearl clutching as the fascistic or authoritarian nature statements makes it all seem meaningless between the few good shows like Mehdi Hasan (and he's gone now...)
Greg Abbott was famously one of the dingleberries fooled by Russian propaganda about operation Jade Helm and instructed the Texas national guard to "watch over" the operation as if they matter at all in the considerations of a joint millitary nation-wide operation. Most minority Republican voters are either people attached to going against the grain as their whole personality or were raised white and compare themselves entirely to poorer people. I've also heard some talk about how they were never accepted by those they view as superior to them until they changed their politics to be against their own best interests which is the origin of a lot of grifters. America really needs more therapy.

This is also about the enormous lobbying power of AIPAC, which from any other nation than Israel would be considered a foreign-aligned agent lobbying firm subverting US elections.
While they (Israel and AIPAC) stand down against Democrats who tow their lines, they absolutely prefer hawkish Republicans to be in charge because they are more aligned to their regional power-grabs as evidenced by Trump's Israeli policy. I don't personally understand democrats who kneel for a group who doesn't prefer them at the end of the day no matter what they do, even support genocide in a few Democrats cases, but nobody has ever accused run of the mill Washington politicians of having shame.

There's a lot of things that make it appear that way, but statistically they are the vocal minority opinion. Young people voting in the same percentage of old people would make this very clear, but that isn't likely or maybe even possible in states with highly restrictive voting avenues.
Won't bother implies that it's an easy thing to do, but this isn't true of many underprivileged people. Next election will only be worse as restricting people's waterbottle access and eliminating polling stations had just begun during the midterms and hadn't been tested on the biggest scale elections yet.
Fascism always manifests through surface level aesthetics. This will become more and more common and you'll find shamelessness and stolen valor are traits they'll all share uniformly eventually.
