I paid over $1k about 10 years ago for music software. My computer killed itself, so I made a new one and redownloaded the software...but the company said I'm an imposter. After years of fighting with them, they refused to activate my paid software despite proving my identity and showing proof of purchase. I didn't choose to pirate, the system chose for me

I've seen a few recommendations for ListenBrainz lately, but I haven't tried it yet so I can't say

Others have mentioned other clients, but I'm going to suggest a different, less convenient route. Would you still have that problem if you routed your phone's traffic through an exit node in your home network?

No cap fam lit 💯 or whatever

Just torrented it out of spite. I don't even care about the system...I own one and I don't play it because they got the A and B buttons backwards (that's a joke)

Edit: also, everyone should see this.

Fuck em, don't need em. Never have, probably never will

Can I get your sources?

Everything about the post is a shitshow, I love it

I have permanent Xbox brain, so I'd say they made an oopsie daisy even though I grew up on SNES

Have we gone full-circle back to MySpace?

Been using it for years without issue. Get the version with Sponsorblock, it's worth it

We can't take that risk

That sounds like something that should be ARCHIVEd. Just in case a visitor from a different GALAXY wants to use them in the distant future

I promise you, the Pi-hole is a great and simplistic tool. Just look at my post history, if I can get this thing running you can too. I can't give you a full detailed post right now, but you need a card to load the files up. I used an SD card loaded with DietPi (they have tutorials on this) and it sets itself up pretty easily once you set up SSH (I use putty, it's also great and easy to set up). As far as the model of Pi goes, most people say you can use whichever you want because its not resource intensive, but I went with a model that has a native Ethernet port, and its been 10/10. Good luck, I can help you out more later if you'd like

To add on this, most musicians make little money off physical releases. If they're an indie group/artist, they're probably losing money in the hopes that they gain an audience. Shows usually pay artists (but trust me, not always), and merch always gives artists something to keep them going (unless they're a victim of a 360 deal).

I don't understand why people dislike this post either. I'm not interested in Spotify at all, but this seems like a reasonable question. Maybe I'm missing something?

I've had many comments (and I know a few others have too) quietly deleted for talking about the downsides of Linux, so mild censorship is definitely a thing depending on where you visit. But "shadow banning", if I'm not mistaken, is kinda nonexistent on a platform like this

So I had that issue once, the solution in my case was to calibrate the HDR (not just on the TV), but my receiver and playback device too

You found the solution! I upped the upload to an arbitrarily high number and everything is working as I intended, thank you

I'm an English native, and I don't see an issue with the title. I understood what you are saying perfectly fine

Please contact me with every new account you make so I can keep blocking you

Jellyfin has been the coolest software I've spent time learning, highly recommend

Good luck

I know, I know...but it's good, faithful hardware and I want it to go to a good use.

Sound like you should join the dev team as an idea person, I support you

I respect you for asking

Also a sick option

I apologize for not being more specific, I'm not interested in a centralized delivery system. I just want vendors to have their inventories posted online (as usual), but for them to be aggregated by category and filterable in one location without depending on a dystopian tech company. MAYBE have a frontend to appear as though everything is centralized, but I would be indifferent

Are you in the US? I feel like if we try to implement something like that, our government (attorneys and equity firms) would find a way to make it just as bad as what we have now with more steps

This is a really good shitpost, thank you

I have about 1TB of music, and I'm listening to music all the time. My go-to has been a Jellyfin server with either the desktop client or Finamp on my phone. I used to use Gelli on my phone, but it stopped working a few months ago

That was a hilarious read, I don't think people got the humor

Really good point. Is a Pi recommendable for selfhosting?

Nice! I just updated mine

I'd like to know too, but people are so cryptic about it every time this shit is brought up that I'm overwhelmed before I even begin. So I just stick to the tried and true methods I know

That's what prompted this post, I'm getting a very slow download of something that should be damn fast based on the numbers. The trackers are working too, they're just not pumping out the data.

What's the consensus on Cloudflare tunneling?

Still haven't had a chance to sit down and really type this up, but what I did was YouTube search for "pi-hole setup" and watch probably the first 30-40 videos that popped up because if anything can break, it WILL break for me, and I wanted to know my money wasn't going to be wasted. I can tell you from experience that the Pi-hole support team is one of the best you'll find, and they can help you with any problems you might have.

Agreed, as soon as a diy company starts making affordable CRTs with modern I/O, I'll invest every penny I can

I tried that, but it wouldn't install for me. I went through many guides and videos on setting it up, but something in the process failed every time
