"Exactly my point. We will not be investing an hour looking at the footage to pinpoint the time of theft, now get out!"

Boomers shouldn't have to part with their homes. They, too, need a place to live.

The issue is not Boomers owning the house they live in and refusing to leave it (even if it might be larger than they require) The issue is in particularly large corporations owning thousands of properties and taking them away from the housing market.

as always, Apple is on the top when it comes to innovation. Their newly invented "USB-C" (the C stands for "cool") connector looks very solid and soon we will probably see the android copycats steal that connector and put it on their phones, too.

I fondly remember the old opera days, up until the latest presto version, 12.18. If you knew what you were doing, you were able to fully customize the entire browser, all of it's toolbars and context menus, it was incredible.

Once they switched over to the Blink engine, all of that was lost. It's entire USP gone, just like that.

I've tried Opera 2 or 3 years back, just to see what it is like, and it's just another pointless chromium based browser, offering nothing to keep me using it, and the more i see posts and ads from this company, the more I feel like I made the right choice.

I've also tried the "spiritual successor" to Opera 12, Vivaldi, but it too couldn't win me back over from Firefox.

It did, but it was a "premium feature" - paying users would have to "boost" a community to alow them to enable this feature.

Only when enough users boosted, the feature became available. And once that threshold was no longer reached, the feature would go away.

If we try to exclude the super simple and cheap games by only looking at games priced at more than $5, the median is closer to $4000

just because a game is more than $5, doesn't mean it's not super simple, cheap shovelware.

Having worked in 3 companies, Excel sure seems like the most popular database.

a small price to pay for not having to deal with frost giants, IMHO.

While quest users can already play steam games using Oculus Link/AirLink or VirtualDesktop (which is a paid app), not having to use metas desktop app sounds like a win to me.

I am also hoping this will finally be an easy way to stream VR games using a Linux system?

No! Bad Dragon!

Game Mill released 5 games so far this year:

  • Avatar The Last Airbender - Quest For Balance
  • Skull Island: Rise Of Kong
  • Dreamworks All-Star Kart Racing
  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
  • The Walking Dead: Destinies

3 of which have been received poorly (Avatar, Rise of Kong and Walking Dead), the other two apparently got a mixed reception, but still reek of shovelware,

Make no mistake, Game Mill is a publisher notorious for pushing out crap shovelware titles. The infamous 2003 game "Big Rigs" was also their doing. Anything they release, should be avoided.

I bought a few books off audible, and while I can still access them even without a subscription, I still have them converted to mp3 on my NAS, in case I ever lose access to audible for some reason.

This should be able to split them by chapter.

Family Sharing enables you to play games from other family members’ libraries, even if they are online playing another game

That's a great first step, but I would also like to be able to play another game from my own library on another device (e.g. steam deck and pc) at the same time

"ricing" in this context means heavily modifying the layout, theme and usability of the desktop environment.

It's a term used in the Linux community and I believe it originally comes from the automotive tuning community, particularly the JDM (Japanese domestic market) subscene.

It's a major win (Massive W) as opposed to a big loss (Huge L)

I wonder at what point newsweek became this trash. I do remember about 20 years ago, we used printed Newsweek magazines in our english curiculum in school as a tool to learn a foreign language, but at no point were it's articles anywhere near as bad is they are on their website.

The game had a free-to-play weekend a few months ago, and I must say that it was somewhat disappointing, particularly in terms of gameplay, but not "aweful". I personally find the monetization model repulsive. The game is just barely half a year old, but it already has 3 season passes for $10 each. It remains on my wishlist for whenever it is available as a complete bundle for a few euros, but I definately don't see me getting it anytime soon.

As far as gameplay goes, I much prefered the Lego Expansion for Forza Horizon 4 back then.

As far as playing it on the steam deck: It played fine I wasn't able to notice any framedrops, but the fan was spinning up more than I would have expected, given the graphics.

EDIT: If you're looking for a fun "toy racer", you might be interested on Hot Wheels Unleashed: https://store.steampowered.com/sub/730504/ It also suffered from a predatory monetization model when it was released, but the GOTY edition is a complete bundle. I'd recommend not getting its sequel (Hot Wheels Unleashed 2), until it too gets the GOTY treatment as a complete bundle.

I think it would be weird going from 12am (ante meridiem = before noon) to 12:01pm (post meridiem = after noon), therefore 12pm must come right before 12:01pm, so 12pm is noon.

That's one possible workaround, but that will, obviously, break stuff like cloud saving and achievement progress. So, not ideal, but probably viable for some situations.

I am not falling for that stupid trick again. Everyone knows planes don't use blinker fluid because that would freeze during flight, they use plasma.
