O's fan. Heavy truck mechanic.

Just in case anyone doesn't know:

Enable captions on his videos!

Went way too long before I realized there was a whole other layer of info on them.

You're my damn hero of the day! I haven't checked their site in years! Maybe should've gave it a search before asking... Thank You! I'm definitely gonna try it out! And I'll definitely let the Linux thread know how it's going Again, thank you!

Catfishin'.

Holy hell... And so many get turned back, too. I keep some eater-sized channel cats (roughly 4-13 pounds for females and the males stop being really good eaters at less than that.) And all the flatheads get released nowadays, at least until they make a good comeback in my area.

But, it ain't all about the meat. It's mostly about the getaway time. And the fuckin addiction to catching them. Time spent catching bait and long nights with no bites are okay, too. A bad day fishing is better than a good day working.

All my trout gear was useless against the bastards, so it was a total rebuild of gear over the years. And them big-assed hooks ain't cheap. It's easy to go overboard especially with the store-bought baits, and then figure out that fishing was better when you were fishing with the stuff you caught around the river anyways..

There's a podcast called Fish Nerds that began long ago, more than ten years, now. It all started with a couple guys that decided to catch and eat every legal fish in New Hampshire. About 48 species, if I remember correctly. The host, Clay Groves, did catch and eat a sturgeon, although I'm not sure if it was in the original 48 fish or something he did later on, it's been a lot of years. But, the guy is absolutely helpful to the point of obsession, I believe. I think if you reached out to him, pretty sure it's fishnerds@gmail but, check that before writing, I could be wrong on the address, he'd be overjoyed to give you the best opinion I think you could get on this question. And it's a damn good podcast, too.

I do a lot of fishing for food, myself, so I'm really interested in what a sturgeon stroganoff would be like! Sounds fuckin wonderful to me!

Shoot the guy an email, or email it as a question to the pod, I think it would be a great mailbag question on a really interesting subject. And you'd be asking a guy that's okay as to eating fish. And the most notable fish eater and sustainability freak I can think of.

Well... If I were a fuckin piece of shit, I'd leave this communist goddamn hell-hole and seek the peace and comfort offered by Truth Social...

And, as a matter of fact: you goddamn cunts that wish that the world survive for eons and all that bullshit should go fuck your goddamn selves...

Don't You Understand??,

Jesus Won't Let It Go That FAR!!! What don't you understand about that!?!?!?!

Yeah! I remember Crunch#. It's how I found BunsenLabs. Always had really great documentation forums, too. Tried the ++, just liked BunsenLabs better.

Eek!

Looks like a fine alien to take on a bass fishing trip..

Thank you!

I didn't realize that I wouldn't see that community from my BeeHaw account.. So I signed into LemmyWorld and, there we go..

I still don't have the federated universe thing down.

You're my dang hero of the dang day!

And, you're right, it doesn't seem all that active of a community, but hopefully growth will come with time. You just added one to their numbers, so it'll seep in and take root after a while.

Thanks, again.

I used to love Erector Sets. And blending them with LEGO and junk parts to make shit that did "something." Now, I just work on diesels, drink whiskey and fish.

There were (are?) a few truly decent threads on Reddit. r/zappa in my opinion was far and away the most well run community on that entire site that i has experience with, though there were certainly others that i know of. I never recall a single toxic moment in many years of being there. I didn't even check to see if they blacked out over this.. I just did it on my own and I don't think I'll go back, to be honest... But it's one place that I truly miss. I've only accessed the site from a third party app (RedReader) for the past 7 years or so, but I've been on Reddit from about 2009.. My current account live since 2011. Even though RedReader got the exemption for its accessibility features, I still couldn't stand for the principle behind this whole thing. There were some really good subreddits there, really good communities, and they'll be missed, but it's far more important to withdraw myself from that whole mess and take a firm stand by refusing to use the site. I saw some communities moderated by genuinely good people with genuinely good intentions, I hope that they have all left to make a stand against the data mining corporation that Reddit has become. You seem to be one of the decent ones. Thanks for having made the experience pleasant, but greater thanks for standing with your community and pulling the plug when the need arose. I hope you find a place to migrate to.

I was just reading up on that very thing. I may have a chance to try it one evening this week.

Joan Jett. Orioles, though.. She's to cool to be a Cubs fan.

Coolest thing I've seen in a while! Jack Black and the Junior Freedom Fighting Army!!

Thank you.

I'd fuckin love to be able to see that. Would've had to put The Writ in there, though.. That damn song had literally everything in it.

It is what it is.

Is it?

IS IT?

I'm good, yes. Thank you for asking. I ain't okay with my countrymen being turned upon one another, though.. Never have been. Never will be.

And we're divided these days.

Why's ya ask me that, Friend?

It's cool...

CraigeryTheKid could tell ya about it...

But the nods took it down..

Hard to hear sometimes..

The spectrum is literally infinite... and will only ever be so...

Hope ya have the best fuckin day ever, homie.

G'night.

#!... That's the right symbols! Knew it was something similar. One of my first, as well. Ran Fedora for a short while, then moved to Ubuntu for ~a year, then onto trying my own flavor of stock Debian. #! did such a better job than I could, and then at (or near) the end of#! I found BunsenLabs, which is my overall favorite. Even gave Arch and Gentoo a real effort for a while. Always came back to BunsenLabs. Learned a huge portion of my Linux knowledge from those old #! forums. A true wealth of information there. Really looking forward to giving the new BunsenLabs a tryout when I catch the time.
