True, but I'm curious how someone gained a banana phobia. Was it a Little Albert situation and they terrified her as a baby every time they showed her a banana or something?

Edit: she isn't the only Swedish politician with a banana phobia. The hell is going on with Swedish bananas?

I don't think the guy would be pondering on here about going if he didn't love his kid and didn't want to spend time with him.

2 more...

I'd say do it.

If anything, consider it a win that your kid loves you enough to insist on you going. It could even be a sign that he sees what she did as wrong. Kids aren't dumb. I can tell you I liked my mom more than my dad in part because he cheated on her. Most likely he just wants to go to the Maldives, but he really really just doesn't want to go with them. Going with you could be his own sense of justice in all this.

I'd say make sure he can stay with you tho instead of them. I get the feeling that's what he wants.

Even you were talking about the dad, why did the kid suffer because of the mom? He won't be blind to their actions regardless

Nah, shadowheart. You know the Catholic Church likes converting people.

Afraid not, because 7 8 9.

How many amendments?

Republicans literally wrote a playbook on how they're going to do it called Project 2025 ya dunce.

It's clear Americans need to learn the hard way just like Europe did a long time ago.

Sounds like y'all should form a country wide DNS guild, and instead of looking for jobs, just ask band together, and then when the DNS eventually fails, they have no choice but to hire from the guild and pay 5 years salary at once to have it fixed. Then understand if getting hired and fired constantly, you just do a job every now and then and get a huge pay check. So contractor work, but you get to see the companies constantly burn themselves and give y'all with instead.

No one ever tells you this, but you can just take the ducks. Just like with the city pigeons. Just make sure you don't take a government drone by accident.

There was a study that showed controlled anger can keep you alive longer in old age.

I remember it because I immediately thought "huh, 'man to angry to die' meme is real".

Well he is always saving the monarchy. Should have been kinda obvious 👑

If anyone needs help moving to the EU (and in particular Finland) let me know. I moved to Finland after 2016 (I saw the writing on the wall for awhile, before Trump - it's just that's when I finally had the best opportunity and Trump accelerated the need to move).

It takes less money to move than you might think to move. If you have a specialty (especially in STEM) it's really easy, and most jobs will even provide language classes for free.

If you don't, it's still possible, but it'll be much harder work I'll admit. You may end up as a janitor or laborer, but know this - you'll still be able to live comfortably. Wages can be much fairer here, public transportation is excellent to the point where you don't need a car at all, and you won't be bankrupted by healthcare. Even a low skilled SINGLE job will afford you financial security - something I remember was not the case in the USA.

And on the bright side, if you want to go to higher education here, university is a lot cheaper or, if you live long enough in a place to become a permanent resident or citizen, free.

If you get yourself at least 8k and 3 months of intensive Duolingo and maybe Mondly, you have a chance to move.

The obvious clue this is AI is still in the hands. The first one has some deformed hands, and in the second Trump's hands are too big

Gotta say, a lot of people here talking a lot of shit about someone who actually had the balls to at least try to do something direct considering none of y'all have taken a shot at it yourselves in Minecraft.

You can't complain about someone failing to do your personal final fantasy when they at least tried to achieve what you haven't.

I'm certain some of you legitimately can't for personal reasons, but if you can and you're not doing it either, you can't complain that they missed skibbity.

After all, as Dr. Doofinshmirtz once said, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take".

Haven't really seen it mentioned here, but for those who don't know, the male chicks are not used for chicken nuggets, but primarily for pet food or plant fertilizer. Also not every country does this practice. Not only that, but eliminating eggs from the human global diet would be unfeasible. This is because eggs are the best source of protein, with only whey protein coming second. They are also the only food with such a high protein content that also contains all essential nutrients. And before someone posts "but da beans!" - no, they're not on the same level. Although beans are a good source of protein, they're neither complete nor are they actually as high as they seem, because the protein they have isn't as bioavailable as that of eggs (speaking of, this is why there's certain practices in vegan diets to gain more nutrients, such as eating leafy greens with an acid to get more iron or soaking pecans to remove the pyric acid in them to absorb the minerals they have better).

Removing eggs from the world diet would actually lead to more ecological harm, even without more ethical chicken rearing practices becoming wider spread, because the amount of farm land needed to ensure proper nutrition for everyone with a mixed vegetable diet would be significantly higher than ensuring there's just enough eggs for everyone.

You don't like baby chicks getting ground up? Don't own carnivorous pets, and buy from more ethical egg farmers. Or if you can, honestly just get your own chicken or 2. You'll have enough eggs with even a single chicken to be honest. Hens don't need much space, males can be eaten once their 4am crowing drives you crazy - although they do keep the hens happy. If you can afford it or don't have very particular diet restrictions, go vegan - you probably don't need as much protein as you think. I used to be vegan until kidney failure, and now with a transplant am back to mostly vegetarian (at least for now until I can go back to being fully vegan). I also used to raise animals for food and farm because I came from a poor family initially. If you don't care, then just consider eating less meat and eggs will ya? Too much ain't good for your health either. Plus it'll taste better if you don't eat it every day. A weekend bbq is way more special when you haven't had meat the prior everyday.

You do realize that slippery slope argument is what's used when it comes to banning anything else, right?

"Can't legalize marijuana or people will start wanting to do meth" for example.

I'd like to note it's not profitable because it generates so much energy so consistently that it's hard to keep prices up.

That's why nuclear energy should never have been a private sector investment but a government one, or maybe hybrid. That's how it's worked in Finland, and the new reactor we had built plus the growing solar really saved us from the electricity spike after Russian gas was turned off.

Alwayshasbeen.meme

The bigger picture is always missing in these posts.

And that is that everything that's happening has already happened in Russia. It's how Putin got power - through the courts.

All a Republican president has to do now is make an official act that they are president for life, the supreme court agrees, and that's that.

The second is that while only the president has immunity (meaning anyone killing people under their official order would still be illegal), the president can also pardon people. So it's a loophole - anyone can kill under their official order, and then the president can just pardon them.

Unfortunately no.

The best option if you want a new tv without this stuff is buying a business display, such as here:

This one even comes with a Raspberry Pi compute module.

You have to specifically search display and not TV.

Yeah, it's totally not Israel, the country known for being great at hacking and is attacking multiple middle eastern countries at the moment.

No one here mentioning this will be a gold mine for Malware makers and hackers.

Weird how y'all haven't figured it out yet considering Finland has and Germany has had nuclear power plants for longer.

But I suspect it's more of a lack of wanting to do what's needed for storage because 'politics' and boomers than it is because it's not possible.

I know right?

So imagine just how much you have to fuck up as a rich white guy to actually get convicted of something in such a fucked up system.

Chickens always gave a lot of eggs. That's why they were popular since ancient times. As long as they had surplus food, they start laying eggs. A dozen a year is just misinformation - that's only in the wild, during spring because that's when they have a surplus a food. If humans feed them every day, then they lay eggs because they always have extra food.

We raised free roaming wild chickens. The hens had a high up coop we'd close to keep safe from predators that they'd return to on their own at night.

They saw the Trump government do the same + Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the sole capital of Israel as well. Not to mention Trump is extremely pro Israel too.

Of course, I never underestimate the stupidity of American right wing voters, so yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan turns red too.

You should listen to the podcast "Stuff you Should Know" episode on Wikipedia called "The Big Episode on Wikipedia".

Wikipedia doesn't really quite work like you stated, and especially the huge topics like this, they tend to be more factual, detailed, accurate, and researched than even long established encyclopedias.

When you consider who causes the most destruction, it's actually very few humans that do the most damage.

I have similar wants. Just a standard house, maybe some land for a bit of gardening, and a workshop to make things. Donate to certain charities and open source projects etc. Travel a bit.

But they're one little thing I'd do that would definitely show I'm rich:

I'd travel to local forest parks around the world, and bury actual treasure. Like a 3 gold bars. In in actual chest too. Maybe every now and then I'd do smaller treasures that are like a fancy sword or platinum ring or just medieval armor. Idk.

Then I'd go to the local university and set up riddles they'll lead to a part of a hidden map, with the map being hidden both throughout the university and maybe online too, depending.

But it wouldn't be a straightforward map. It would be a map to a random house built near the park. And somewhere in that house, would be the final map leading to the treasure.

Why? Because the world could use a little bit of magic adventuring I think. That's something that just doesn't really exist anymore in the modern era, in a way. I feel like finding treasure and going on a treasure hunt is something a lot of people as a kid probably thought would be fun.

And second, university students can always use some money, so they get first dibs too.

Likewise when I die any children I have would have to go to a mini mansion and solve the puzzles in order to get my last will that grants the finder my money.

But it's not free. You have to subscribe to X premium

Just want to point out, EU inflation rate from 2015 - 2024 is a 12% change, so out of the 3 examples listed only the EU has had stable prices. Technically housing prices went down in some EU countries based on this information, like Portugal. And EU inflation has gone down since the 2022 spike, which means there was a tiny housing bubble in 2022.

This only applies to housing prices of course - rent is a different story so being addressed in different ways across different EU members.

Hey, Listen!

Considering no one I've met so far that I've told "a grizzly bear can bend steel bars" knows that - no, most people don't know much about bears, or how dangerous a bear is. Heck most don't know how fast a bear can run or swim. Heck there's people who constantly get injured or killed because they want to pet a wild bear.

This doesn't negate point A that you made, but the other huge factor is, most women, men, and everything in between don't really know much about bears, or have been exposed to bears, and that's a gigantic reason why so many women picked the bear too. Heck, your point B proves that - you clearly don't understand the threat, or you'd know that it's not a threat, it's a death sentence. You are not, in virtually any scenario of being stuck on an island with a ever growingly hungry bear, going to live. You can't swim away, you can't climb a tree to escape. You'd have a much better chance of killing an openly hostile man than surviving a wild bear. You basically just said "yeah, I know how missiles work, they fly in the air and go boom when they land - that's why I can survive a missile".

And the question was designed to create this divide, because had this question instead been with something that IS perceived as more dangerous (like, would you rather be stuck in the middle of a large pool with a shark of a man), it wouldn't have received the same amount of replies, since sharks are seen and portrayed as scarier than bears. It wasn't designed to actually improve society, it was designed to drive another wedge and make us forget that the real danger is the wealthy and corporations that literally kill and poison us daily.
