A fellow ADHDer addicted to the platform

Schedule here: lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/301360

I went there for a moment to check if any of my subreddits were making polls and the amount of redditors against this strike was depressing. I'm happy that I left this shithole and those braindead people behind.

As a large language model human I agree

When reddit migration begun we saw a huge bump in users and it was steadly stabilising and less users were joing, then this huge bump happened. You can go browse lemmy instances and see how many instances are ghost instances with 0 posts and comments that have tens of thousands of users.

I know this sounds dumb probably but 2 years is too short a time.

No no, I'm of the same opinion

Reading this from piracy instance✌️

Just did it, fuck 'em.

Why

2 more...

Discord servers are also closed communities which makes it impossible to search for info through search engine

Wait, wdym by "illegal"? Does that include piracy instances?

Where can I see the list of changes?

Dammit, it took me a moment and now I'm just disappointed in OP

And this is exactly why it's fucking stupid why indefinite blackout voting happened during that time. This whole blackout thing is an absolute shitshow that was terribly organised which could have been avoided if only people decided to go for an indefinite blackout from the very start. At least lemmy gained a lot of traction during that time and hopefully we get another bigger wave when API shuts down to make this platform properly take off. Initial surge of users hopefully allows to set things up for users from API shutdown so they don't bounce back to reddit because there no content/subreddits they like.

I posted this just 6 days ago and someone already reposted this lol: https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/586373

Edit: shit, our instance's web interface is down right now...

Must be something about this paying program where they pay people for getting karma and awards.

Official statement:

Short Answer

We don't think federation is beneficial to Revolt and would actively hinder our stance on privacy. In short, federation is prone to leaking your metadata, could make removing your data harder, and we otherwise have no incentive to develop support if it we aren't able to use it for the main platform (revolt.chat).

In terms of technical reasons:

  • We don't have the manpower or resources to implement federation into our protocol.
  • It would be difficult to adopt our protocol to work with federation.

I'm safe then, TY for info

You mean my post

I posted it to only 3 communites and 1 of them is a small local community. It's not like I spam it everywhere.

Does your instance have tens of thousands accounts?

Melon Edison doing a great job by advertising mastodon to masses

You can request that on lemmit.online if I remeber the name of the instance correctly

I have cat ears on my pfp, does that count?

Read things on this tankie instance to learn lemmygrad.ml

Thanks, will check it out. :)

Sadly those are bots, real amount of users is around 150k. Source: https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/176547

It's 60k actually

Edit: 60k people joined, not total amount

Damn, it's crazy how someone managed to make a gif that 100% correctly predicts my eye movement. That's some next level psychological stuff.

How about 1.6m (from 1.7m total) bot accounts?

It's almost 90%, check my post history

Don't encourage us to break this modfree streak

You have too much faith in redditors

They already brought it back in that future release.

I'm sorry for showing up so much there

3 more...

Ye

Instances already have an ability to turn on both captchas and email verification.

Yuri FTW

When I made a post saying that 90% (now ~95%) of accounts on lemmy are bots the amount of people saying that there's no proof and/or saying to me that there's a lot of people joining from reddit right now was astonishing.

Edit: one person said me that noone would make 1.6mln bots when there are only 150k-200k users on the platform, like WTF.

Wait wait wait, is it the game where barbarian is a character that allows you to get pretty far into the game as a beginner or something like that? If so then there's a korean comic inspired by this game: https://www.asurascans.com/manga/4569947261-surviving-the-game-as-a-barbarian/

Opened infinity and went to r/modcoord to find info on how they coordinate with each other but I found nothing

Edit: bruh, I'm blind, I missed this info when checking their subreddit description:

Edit2: I can't send screenshot so there's text version:

Discord - you can request access by sending us a modmail from your own subreddit's modmail (for mods of subreddits participating in the blackout)
