There are better pillows out there, friend

Ah, so only two of the three branches of government are subject to checks and balances?

I've been surprised that some western countries have laws like this. A French woman has also been fined for insulting Macron.

Apollo was big in the headlines because its developer was the most vocal about the API changes.

As for why people used third-party apps, it's mostly a preference thing. Something to note is that reddit didn't always have an official app. Everyone using reddit before 2016 had to use a third-party app if they wanted to use reddit on their phone. A lot of the apps we watched get shut down, especially the ones on android (RiF, Sync, BaconReader, etc) have been around for a long time, and had loyal user bases.

Apollo was younger than the official app, but it was likely favored by those who had used Alien Blue (a very popular third-party app for iOS that was bought by Reddit and turned into the official app)

The fuck is a "male" plant ovary?

There is a feeling of loyalty. Sync was a mainstay on my phone for close to a decade.

C# doesn't have a big spotlight on it like Rust or Python, but it is a popular and very unhated language. It's a good language that is regularly improving and has phenomenal documentation. Seriously, I've not gone to Stack Overflow for anything C# (outside of third-party libraries) for years; Microsoft's documentation gives me everything I need.

Doesn't everyone?

Rider is for C# development.

Battery life is rarely a concern for me; with standard use, not charging all day, my phone is still usually above 30% when I go to plug it in before bed, dark theme is most certainly not easier on my eyes when my surroundings are bright.

English people wanting a hug but not wanting to squander an opportunity to nuke France. Finns not wanting to nuke France but afraid of social contact.

Rather than simply look to Lemmy as a replacement, I've also been trying not just not need to look at a screen constantly.

Is Google's RCS open? Last I heard, it was still limited to Google Messages, but it's been a long time since I've paid attention.

Even on reddit, r/usa was tiny. We kinda just exist everywhere and wrongfully assume everyone is us, so we don't tend to feel the need for a special community. Lol

I don't need complete agency and freedom to enjoy a game. I don't play games like Red Dead Redemption and The Last of Us expecting to create my own story; I play them to be immersed in a beautifully written and preformed narrative.

F-35s protecting the rights of MtF-35s. God bless America

It made me a bit emotional. Can't wait to use Sync for Lemmy.

I have the 2018 Mazda 3, and Mazda is actually still one of the better companies when it comes to the infotainment stuff. No touch screen, and the controls are in the center console, where they're super easy to reach.

Why not two Labor Days? The whole point is the day off, after all, so the more the merrier.

I'm pretty proud of my pokemon gen 2 theme.

Their videos about the immune system are really good and educational (according to me, who has no idea if they're just making shit up). But pretty much everything else they make is just pop science.

I've been trying to read more. At lunchtime, for example, where I'd usually scroll endlessly through reddit for an hour, I've now for a book open.

If folks aren't posting and commenting, Lemmy looks empty and inactive. If potential new users peak in and see what looks like a ghost town, they don't stick around.

That's how you sell it to them

Why shouldn't I forget F#? Everyone else does. :')

Indeed. I started regularly flossing a few months ago, and it didn't take long before it stopped hurting.

My boss is a DB dev and requires that all our database transactions go through stored procedures. Oh, and those stored procedures contain all our business logic.

In a bumper-to-bumper traffic slowdown, I once stayed still to allow an eighteen-wheeler to merge. They flashed all their back lights to say thanks, and it made me feel nice.

My usual experience with hotel ACs is generally the opposite — them pouring in almost frigid air.

I could never get those damn things to go straight for very far.

Insulated Klean Kanteen. It's got about nine years worth of debts and scratches.

I'd like the bigger capacity I could get from a non-insulated bottle — as I really don't need the insulation anyways — but I have become sentimental towards this old thing.

It's not that it can't be used elsewhere. We just don't want Texas to take all the credit.

Unfortunately, every new Battlefield game is shit on release day. The question is: is it still shit?
