Yeah definitely I remember being totally fine watching YouTube videos on my phone speakers on my Nexus 6 and even my OnePlus 5t in the morning before school, but I have a hard time doing anything but tiktok on speakers nowadays, my p6 and my pixel 8 sound completely garbage...

As someone whose egg cracked very recently I am still unsure if Maya will be my final decision.

It's tough for me. The female Versions of my deadname were ones ingot bullied with my entire teen years so they have this very negative memory to them.

First I went in a direction of names I just find nice and pretty I guess. Starting with Sofia which didn't really fit my vibe, then Florence which is a really nice name but a bit too extra for me. Shortened it to Flora but that felt odd.

For two months now my gf and some friends have been calling me Maya. How did I find it? I reminded of the 3D program Maya. I remembered it's also a name. I liked the sound of it and it felt like it fit my vibe and so far that has been the case

Same... It should really be a default or a regulation... It also annoys me how flawed the fair phones are as devices...

I mean it's literally how I remembered it being a name. And it's a pretty common one too once you look for it.

I don't mind it for now and it has been more if a conversation starter than anything. Also some one line friends keep calling me mayannaise which is funny as hell to me.

With my deadname playing with the name of it in a mocking way always felt like the worst insult possible to me. With my chosen name it's fun and I take part in it... I think that's a good sign

I love both of these creators for the content they put out. Matt has been posting some really good points on Instagram.

But sadly while this isn't a bad first episode to his podcast, they just talk about things that have been talked about for years now with little to no depth.

The second episode was already a great improvement from that kind of surface level discussion

Reception is awful. It is rare that I actually have a stable connection if I don't have WiFi. I used my OP5t to check if it really is a device issue and yeah it is. This is only slightly better of I leave 5G on, which is an absolute battery killer.

The battery already barely lasts me a day. If I wake up really early for my standards, let's say 6am, and I have to commute even just 30 minutes and I spend that time on my phone? Yeah I will have to charge again at like 3pm latest.

The finger scanner is so unreliable that I stopped using it at all. It kept locking my banking app, it never works on login, and even when it does work it never does so on the first try.

The camera produces over sharpened garbage. I have never seen images this heavily processed. I luckily found open camera as a replacement but it's very outdated and not great to use. One upside of it is that instead of having the blue app icon break the material 3 theme on my home screen, I can hide it in the quick tiles...

There's definitely gonna be some headlines about all the weird and creepy ways this will be enforced or controlled

But it still quick charges and gets pretty warm until it reaches 80% and then continues an hour before the alarm :/

I am fine with the battery needing replacement in general, I want to prevent it from getting warm often, so that it doesn't bloat again when it's put of warranty like my P6 did...

This was the first year of me experiencing pride month in germany , paying attention to it while also being aware of being trans, even if thats new for me. It's been kinda depressing, between finishing up my bachelors Degree work, no local events and constant bad news internationally about anti trans propaganda working very scarily well, and the german alt-right party winning their first election with a majority vote, its been really depressing honestly...

I also intended to go out and buy some really campy rainbow capitalism merch as like a joke with my GF but sadly even here the pink washing has been toned down by a lot... no campy shirts in sight, just very safe rainbow tote bags or similar things

Absolutely not.

I'm way more tired of the designs before it, or the apps halfway into the design language but not really. Especially if it is to the point where just using the material you colours you have seperates it, signal comes to mind there for example.

Some apps can keep their design layout but please let me use my material you colours anyways

Any next phone I will buy will have to last me more than 5 years minimum. So far the only phone that I can safely assume to do so is whatever the latest Fairphone will be when my pixel 6 dies.

This phone as aged like milk.

My previous one, the OnePlus 5T did last me 5 years. And I want to repeat that.

A foldable won't even last me half a year if I'm not careful about debris on the screen every single time I fold it.
