I live not five minutes away from the Key bridge and the sound of this woke me up last night. My GF takes this bridge to work every day. Driving through the city now for her every morning is going to be fucking awful.

If someone were to take offense to me calling them dude I would absolutely make every effort to stop the behavior. I would never want anyone to feel invalidated over something like that.
That being said I feel like this whole outrage is manufactured to rile people up. I highly doubt many people are getting worked up over it. Dude has very much become a gender neutral term and is even now just used as an exclamation. I'd be willing to bet a large portion, if not the large majority, of the trans community doesn't give a fuck about the term and they probably use it themselves.
I'm surprised they kept it up for so long honestly. It was very clear they had no fucking clue what they were doing. What with the nonsensical license that violated Github's tos, the Dolby Code they leaked, and the fact they kept every commit public for everyone to see.
Per the linked article.
"Gun trace data is kept out of public view by a rider to a Congressional bill known as the “Tiahrt Amendment,” passed in 2003 to shield gun shops from scrutiny. Each year, the ATF provides a count of the guns recovered in Mexico that had been bought in the U.S., with no further details."
Nothing to do with the Mexican govt. The US govt passed a law in 2003 to prevent gun sale data from being public record. This includes sales of firearms eventually used in armed conflicts in Mexico.
Fuck no you can't take my picture to share with 2000 other establishments to see if I've been a bad boy. That's an easy way to ensure I just don't hang out in your bar.
Yeah, I mean, if someone politely asked another person to stop calling them some phrase or another and they refused they're definitely an asshole. No doubt about it.
In the same token though if someone gets rude and indignant over someone calling them dude one time that person is also an asshole.
We should be treating people with respect. Period.
The article contradicts the heck out of itself.
Says billboard estimates she earns roughly $4k a day from Spotify streams. Then they speculate she makes roughly 8k a month from OnlyFans.
That would be like $120k a month from Spotify and $8k a month from OnlyFans.
That is FAR from more money from OnlyFans. Even if those numbers are hugely off I don't see how the discrepancy would be THAT large.
To quote the great Jermaine Clement, how could it be gay if I'm picturing you as a woman?
I like the idea of pirating my gender. Sounds like I pilfered someone's penis. Which is just an objectively fun sentence to say.
Why was a cop even involved here? Doesn't animal control exist for situations like this? Yknow, like someone actually trained to handle animals instead of someone trained to behave like an animal?
The fact that he says this shit while Krokodil exists is fucking laughable.
Isn't it a bit disingenuous to call it an emulation site? It's not like they hosted ROMs or anything.
In all fairness it doesn't really sound like he's a Covid denier. Its more like he's Pro-Covid. I'm not sure if thats worse though.
Not just ads, but also unactionable anaphylaxis! It's a steal really.
While this is awful for a company to do and I'm 100% against drm in games in general I do think the steam deck issue is being overblown. Valve quickly put out a proton update that fixed compatibility on steam deck. The game works fine now.
Even if this was just an "innocent" slip up it's not like what he said wouldn't have been racist otherwise. The dude is defending the false claims about Haitian immigrants. It's still racist.
Pretty sure the whole punching down thing comes from a story he told in one of these netflix specials where a trans woman in a bar told him she likes his comedy but that he needs to stop punching down against her people. He got all indignant about it and tried explaining that it's not punching down because he's black. His logic being that black people are so far down the totem pole it's impossible for any one of them to "punch down" against a different marginalized group.
Him using the phrase now comes across more to me as him reveling in the position that he's, in his mind, been mischaracterized into by the trans community. And less so him actually believing he's better than anyone.
Still not at all a good look. And he's definitely an asshole. The fact that he's still fixated on this one perceived slight that happened to him several years ago should tell you all you need to know about him. My dude has produced multiple Netflix comedy specials focused on getting back at a community he feels wronged by because a woman said something to him once in a bar that he didn't like.
Maybe because there's usually not even a perceptible difference in visual quality between the two and a very noticeable performance difference.
The one flat earther i know believes the sun and the moon are just spotlights held up from the ceiling of a giant dome.
Guys, they weren't slaves. They were just unpaid interns receiving exposure and experience. Promise.
It's not. They've definitely lost lawsuits before.
Yes. In the article she states she did exactly this.
I can be both mad that this data isn't public record and that the BATFE aren't doing their jobs.
I would disagree that there's zero reason for this data to be public record. I'd agree with you if we were just shielding individuals who are purchasing like one handgun or something. That's something that I don't think is anyone else's business. But if a dude is buying 95 semi-automatic rifles in a short period of time you bet your ass I think that should be public knowledge. No one should be able to secretly purchase enough firearms to arm a small militia.
Something I sometimes think about is how much of humanity's history is just like, gone. Completely forgotten to time. Great works of art that'll never be seen. Amazing compositions that'll never again be heard. An uncalculable number of lifetimes reduced to nothing more than food for the dirt.
The proposition that we could store vast amounts of our current experience on archival slabs and preserve it all far into our distant future is incredibly exciting to me. It wouldn't only allow us to indefinitely preserve all of these incredible works of art our modern world has enabled. But would also allow us to more effectively learn from our collective societal mistakes. It would hopefully be more difficult to ignore our past foibles when we keep such detailed receipts... Hopefully.
If not at least they'll have SpongeBob in 7023 to distract from the cyber-nazis.
Can we also extend this to ads for scams? Waaay too many people have fallen for scams from Facebook ads and the like.
And the Sony account requirement will be reimplemented in 3... 2... 1...
What is crippling depression?
Is he a closeted republican? Or a closeted murderer? Or is he a secretly gay man that murders Republicans?
For real. I'm dreading the day mine stops working. It's taken some drops over the years but it's still going strong. Legit one of the best controllers ever made. I will absolutely die on this hill.
Why are you washing a duvet cover with the rest of your clothes? Shouldn't it get its own cycle?
I mean, isn't that how trademark is supposed to work? I'm no expert or anything but the original creator hadn't used the trademark in over ten years and ostensibly had no intention to do so. He also didn't respond to the notice of opposition.
Seems to me the courts did the right thing in letting gametech have the trademark if they intended to use it.
That's not to say that I support them making a shitty Cryptobro game but them obtaining the trademark by itself doesn't really seem shady to me.
I really hope they just ignore him. I understand there are significant risks and consequences here but at a certain point doing the right thing has to trump whatever possible negatives would come about from disobeying an unjust law.
Even if you did lose your medical license and paid a hefty fine I feel like you'd ultimately be fine. There's gotta be a doctor out there that would revel in the fact they'd be known as the kickass doctor that disobeyed Ken Paxton. I'm sure you could pivot into something else. Might even be happier and richer making a YouTube channel or TikTok clock or whatever it is the kids are doing these days.
Its completely baffling to me that anyone takes Republicans seriously. All they do is obstruct any and all legislation so that nothing can ever get done. And once someone actually manages to help people through legislation they try to spin it like somehow feeding kids is a bad thing.
At this point I'm pretty convinced 'republican' is a mental illness.
Probably overreacting. Pretty sure the entire homeschooling curriculum for Sex Ed in Alabama is just: "Don't. - God"
Without checking I'm going to go out on a limb and say no.
I can just taste the fumble and 90+ yard run back Touchdown.
You guys are getting headphone jacks?
Is that not the purpose of a beta? That doesn't seem like a good sign.
American here.
No fucking clue. I'm as surprised as you are. Seriously wtf?
