I’m confident it’s not 1 in 3 customers, rather “most customers who are also young women”. You should be able to order a pizza without being hit on, especially as they now have your contact details

It’s a beautifully paced cartoon, shame to loose the other two panels

A brave woman doing her very best in very difficult circumstances

I nearly threw out a pixel 3 thinking the usb c port had worn out- in fact it had just got gummed up with fluff. A quick dig around with a pin (no shorting risk - checked) got it all and restored the port. Phone still going strong, but I do need to that about once a year

It’s about the market I’m afraid - someone with the attributes necessary to be an effective politician is likely to be able to use those skills to get a top management job in a big company and earn > 200k easily. If the gap between that and the politicians salary is too great then the only people who become politicians will have other strong other motives, which may be noble, but are often narcissistic or corrupt.

Not a good summary

Madness!

I have family members who suffer from several mental health issues - depression, anxiety and related. They have all found exercise helpful. Doesn’t really matter what kind- yoga, cross fit, swimming, running - just establish a routine, do it a few times a week. It made a big difference for them (or going for a walk - what ever works for your fitness/health level)

Points for reading!

I can’t tell if you’re serious or not. I hope you’re not. The fact that you’ve made two scientifically verifiable errors, gender = sex, and asserted it’s only a binary scale, suggests to me you’re not, in which case you should rethink joking about this - not everyone will get it.

Agreed - though does the topless thing happen a lot in Oregon? Just asking for a friend

Thank you for the perspective - I’d never have guessed.

Very informative- thank you

Rich people don’t like wars or climate change, they like stability and maintaining the status quo

Right click Onedrive Icon, settings, sync and backup, Manage Backup, turn off what ever you don't want backed up. At that point all your desktop / document content will disappear (looks like Microsoft linked the normal and Onedrive folders, which is a useful trick occasionally) so move everything out of Onedrive back into your normal folders

Jagged Alliance 3 - very good sequel to JA2, more of the same with enough tweaks to make it fun and the campaign has thrown enough curve balls to keep me interested. Like the original it doesn’t hold your hand, which is good. Strongly recommend if you liked the original

I’m sorry you haven’t met one (or recognised it when you did). They exist

Yes, it’s good. If you liked JA2 you’ll like this.

Night’s Dawn Trilogy, Peter F Hamilton. Better than his later stuff in my opinion

Me

Starfield - the first game I’ve felt really excited about for a while. I’m assuming it’ll support mods as well, so will basically last forever too

Rather sadly the only things that have ever significantly reduced wealth inequality are wars, revolutions and plague. All of these affect poor people much worse than rich people. If you’re interested in making people’s life better it’s most effective to work on policies that make the worst off better off (like immigration and trade)

WH40K Rogue Trader. It’s pretty good if you like that kind of thing. ‘Campaign’ bit of the campaign is significantly better that WOTR in my opinion

Completely agree!

Exactly - it’s the calibre and competence - and implicit in your comment is the idea the person from India isn’t as good. This isn’t my experience- I know plenty of amazing engineers from India. And it’s not outsourcing if they’re employed by the company- it’s just the job currently done by you.

It’s not outsourcing if they’re employed by your company, just remote working - they’ll be the employee and the company can care for them as much. They’ll just be more productive because of lower cost of living where they happen to live. If your job can be done fine 100% why would they ever change it back? Remote working isn’t the same as insource/outsource

If your job really can be done as well 100% from home (as many people insist) then you’ve got a problem - because that means it can be done as well 100% from home by some onefrom India or similar and they’ll be cheaper. Be careful what you wish for.

I’m of the view that actually this isn’t true for a lot of jobs, particular anything that involves interacting in a team, just people wish it was.
