Thank you. When I was in my college days, I used to get bursts of horrible anxiety while tripping — wondering what the hell I would do if someone called me with an emergency. I got over that by realizing how many times I had been way too drunk, and would have been in the exact same predicament if someone called me with an emergency.

It helped me put a lot of perspective into it and not only stopped that anxious thought while tripping, but also created an awareness that helped me to enjoy (conscious-altering) recreations more safely

Fentanyl in weed can be a thing though. Scales used by dealers who are weighing different drugs, aren't necessarily cleaning the scale between use. Cocaine is the bigger offender in that scenario though, and can definitely lead to a way easier overdose than weed would

Clockwise and counterclockwise may be more intuitive for some people. Is the clock-hand (wrench) going forward in time, or backwards. But I don't know of any quick rhyme for that

Well... damn. I'm mid-30's; Tech is (definitely) kind of a hobby of mine; and I use Linux for learning, experimenting, and... uhh, tech hobby stuff lol. I can solder a little, and sometimes it actually works!

Maybe it's because that cohort is the fastest to adopt. We grew up with a rapidly changing internet, we're kinda used to navigating the glitches/unfamiliarity, and it's just more familiar (to us) in a "back-to-basics" way. I feel like I've entered a nostalgic "place" that has become better since I last visited.

With Memmy for ios going full-live, the multitude of 3rd party apps at full throttle, and Facebook ready with "Threads" - this just seems like the first wave of what could be a hell of a storm. The content will increase and diversify, that's inevitable now.

The question is: do people want to be responsible for maintaining a user-controlled platform? Or would they prefer an operator help to connect us? We'll see, but I guarantee there will be some fresh af memes coming through here in the mean time, so no worries

I uhh... I do sometimes wear gloves when cooking at home. Mainly for handling raw meat (especially mixing ground beef and such; helps keep it from getting underneath my nails). I'm still washing my hands after taking the gloves off, but they're much easier to wash when they're not coated in fat and raw meat juices

Respect. The casette-aux is way better than the radio transmitters, if you don't have bluetooth nor an aux input. I was using one up until about 2015 (with my ipod instead of a cd Walkman though), before my car finally gave up the ghost. Now I just use bluetooth

And people are testing their drugs for fentanyl now because of that hyper awareness. Public awareness, easier access to narcan, and fentanyl test strips are probably big contributors to the decrease in OD deaths

Ehh, depends on the concentration of salt and if you've been sweating a whole lot... and I mean working outside in the heat sweating, not a 30-minute cardio. But unless you have low (or lose) sodium and/or chloride, than it will probably dehydrate you

I just discovered the joys of sitting to pee this past year. I just never thought about it before, and only sat to pee if I had to poop too... though I can't say I ever cared whether someone else sat or stood to pee

But I had two separate fainting spells while standing to pee after getting out of bed (orthostatic hypotension), and almost really hurt myself the second time. Now, I often sit to pee at home because it's just more comfortable (and apparently safer). Live and learn I guess

I can carry 3 full pint glasses in one hand and 2 in the other. If they're empty, I can carry 4 in one hand and 3 in the other. It comes in handy more than I would expect

I'm a nurse working in a large hospital. I did ICU nursing for almost 8 years, and now I'm a "float pool" nurse... which means they send me to whatever unit needs help that shift (Except pediatrics. That's not my gig, and our pediatrics has a separate Children's Hospital anyway).

Every day is a new adventure. I might be working in one of the ICU's (Neuro, Cardiac, Surgical, Medical), or I could be on any of the other floor units (Med-Surg and such). Currently on a Nephrology unit, cursing the fact that I scheduled myself to work the night that time rolls back an hour. So it'll be a little over a 13 hour shift tonight :(

But it's hard to say what a typical day looks like. Lots of charting, time management, monitoring, and critical thinking... as well as the physical aspect of patient care. It's definitely interesting and I love it. But it can also be draining (physically, mentally, and emotionally), so ya gotta make sure to maintain your own balance too

They're still in use at most banks where I live. Most hospitals use them too; way faster than dumbwaiters

I've kinda stuck with Firefox for many years now because I never saw any reason not too. I honestly hardly ever used extensions though (except ad blockers), so maybe there's something I don't understand about any downfalls of Firefox. I just don't see any, especially nowadays. It just works for me, so I never fully switched.

I've tried other browsers, but I just come back to Firefox ever time. It's a comfort at this point

Question: I bought my phone unlocked several years ago. I have AT&T. But apparently, because I didn't buy it from AT&T, my visual voicemail refuses to work

I've tried and given up several times to fix it, and it's not a huge deal; I just miss being able to check my voicemail without calling it.

Do you happen to know anything about this? Every "fix" I've found has failed so far

Idk, I haven't used Connect. I used Jerboa, Liftoff, and then Wefwef. I've been sticking with Wefwef now because it seems to work well, but I still switch to Liftoff if I'm experiencing some technical issues and want to see if it's the app or the servers.
