They make alot of em, you are falling behind!
Basically its a repeat of the OG Gameboy story
That's cool, does it have any purpose than just advertise linux gaming? Which I'm def happy it's doing, but I'm wondering whats the idea here.
Update, found whats up, there are other pages like this over at https://kde.org/for/
2010 games are considered retro by most as well, decided to ruin your day.
I outright ignore that and check protondb, I even got browser addon that shows protondb rating on Steam store pages
First the hardware can survive at over 90 degrees without any issues and it can save itself if it gets dangerous, second I don't think you'd want better cooling, not like this at least - there are other parts that need to be cooled that don't have temperature sensors on them, and making the fan run at lower speeds might be a bad idea. However, third, cooling fans positioned like this (which this apparently isnt?) are worthless, cooling off the plastic cover is hard enough for them which doesn't do much for the hardware itself.
Respecting the designed airflow (which imo is important) I think you'd have better results for your money if you play the Deck in front of a fan lol, that way lower temp air will be pushed on the intakes and you'd be kept cool as well.
Maybe not a popular opinion, but how about No Man's Sky? It's where i chill out - just ignoring story and quests and go exploring, collecting resources, literally picking flowers and taming an animal to see it run around.
That or just go into the big empty space and shoot rocks. Both are basic things but i find it meditative. Get some chill music going...
honestly I just run a game and go watch a vid till it starts, sometimes multiple vids if there was an update.
That or I just skip it, actually it doesn't lag that much from skipping half of the time
I don't believe you.
a huge disservice to the users of this expensive piece of hardware
Sadly not uncommon for Linux, many companies dont care cause there's no money in it. Thankfully we got awesome community
The General himself went and fixed all that huh? Impressive
You can connect any controller really. Either via Bluetooth or cable (you'd need to buy a dongle for cable controllers tho).
As for which version, I'd say go with 256 and get MicroSD card if you need more space. That is, unless buying the 512 model would be cheaper than 256gb model + 256gb card, then I'd recommend you 512 model
This should be added to the settings screen in game mode
Lmao yeah that would def happen, with -25% income as well right?
I seem to be having trouble trying it out on Android (12), I'm running Firefox 117.1.0

One of my favorite episodes so far!
As a Windows user, I think the easiest software we can compare it to is NET Framework redistributables - your PC would need that to run some programs, otherwise it won't understand them. Just like how Linux needs Wine (Proton) to understand and run Windows software. People kinda answered everything else
Thank me skeletal
bc of this I made an account lol, lemmy seems great
I think that might be possible with just a software update
Do you think i'd like the game as a hardcore rimworld fan? I like how accessible RW is, yet very unforgiving, i like the amount of freedom i have and how important pawns are, how i can be on the brink of a game over for HOURS but still bounce back. Is this anything like that?
I dont know anyones who has played it and money's tight so asking for random's opinion
"As my granddad did, and his one before him"
Ive seen ppl add "Steam" and such in their game showcases, I wonder if you can select "Steam Deck" here somehow lol
Re7 is very different, I didn't like it as much because of that.
RE3 should be the next choice imo
nyone else getting "There was a problem. Please try again later."? For hours now
Edit: days now
pick up Masturbation
Lmao "taking matters into your own hands"
To make it cheaper I assume, I think it released around/after the SNES so it was like a 'NES slim', ig since Nintendo is Japanese company they went all-in for their version
Cities Skylines cause I'm hyped for C:S2. Also started and finished Layers of Fear 2, great game!
The dog saying "you cannot beat us" hits too close for comfort
Just to make sure, you arent limiting your cpu/gpu right?
All low 40fps 10w 700mhz, FSR 2 on performamce. Anistropic filtering 4.
It can most def do way better, but I want minimum fan noise. Doing 2+ h this way.
EDIT: Actually idk if it's around 2h, might have been more, I've been playing on charger most of the time and cant test right now
No Man's Sky for few months now.
Also started Hellblade, its very easy to get stuck in that game it seems
Not as "bad" as rimworld, unlike nms that game requires attention all the time, and is even more addicting to me :D
literally got in the way of normal life and created temporary issues
Great channel, I've seen his doc vids
Very glad he rediscovered his passion with those vids
And yeah if you don't know what I'm talking about go check out his gameboy vid if interested, tldr the cheaper and more energy efficient tech in the gameboy is why it sold this good even though there are way more impressive products in the market
Oh forgot about that, I was thinking of the graphics, which you cant get on PC without modding
...I don't see how that would be better in any way than what we currently have, I wouldn't be up for that at least
Thanks for getting me back here, it's always good to see a familiar skeleton
Needs more programmers in order to check the AC checkbox, can't afford that.
