She has a video on YT on her own channel about that. Pretty sure the problem is the... negativity against her. She appeared in one or two LTT videos for a brief moment though. And there is at least one video by her on floatplane. But I am not following anything actively so that is the only info I have.

Ethoslab. Pretty sure he still does quality content (probably) but I just can't watch minecraft content anymore. Also, I don't even have the time to watch/play everything what I really do want.

Every time I open YT on my tablet I am extremely confused what the shit titles and thumbnails are. DeArrow is one heck of an essential extension.

This statement reminds me awfully of the Living World Season 4 Story in Guild Wars 2.

And yes, before people become angry about this comparison: I said "reminds me", not "the same as" or anything else.

Explanation (hard spoiler!): ::: spoiler spoiler In essence, you do everything you can, unite different people for the fight that determines the fate of the world. But... you lose and that was the only chance. You barely survive with your friends; but not all.

The Commander (you) are asked what to do (because you always had some kind of answers; a plan; every time). But since this was the only hope, you say "I don't know." :::

I had a teacher that taught both religion and chemistry. People who learned about that often made comments about it being weird. But he insisted that both topics are not exclusive to each other. It has been a long time since school but I think his reasoning (if that is the correct word) has been that one is philosophical and the other scientific which are separate worlds. You can't prove stuff in faith scientifically but neither has religion a place in the " real" world. And, to be completely honest, he was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had.

First time I read in windows update "we are commited to reduce co2 emissions" I was like "wtf".

And I thought that "8" had something to do with "netes" because it somewhat resembles the pronunciation 🤦‍♂️

I don't get why I would ever have to read announcements. I put the game on the wishlist and got the notification that it is available. I only knew of the post because I watched a streamer play it for a bit and one in chat mentioned the announcement and the streamer read the message out loud. At the very least they should have marked it early access.

I never understood why everyone uses it as a ignore list. In my own and work repositories I always exclude everything by default and re-add stuff explicitly. I have had enough random crap checked in in the past by coworkers. Granted, the whole source folder is fully included but that has never been a problem.

I did not even know that a DLC came out. I am sure I would have if it was good news because streamers I follow would have tested it.

But it is so sad. I really liked cities skylines because it basically is what I wanted from sim city. But with a million mods it would always break at certain points and force me to stop playing. I had such high hopes with 2 but seeing this game at launch and now seemingly still broken is so... well I am not really sure how I (should) feel.

The good thing is, that I do not have to keep reading and researching but rather wait for some "news" to pop up in my feed again. So I can get back to forgetting about it.

I sometimes needed something like powerquery from microsoft excel. To like quickly get specific data from a structured file.

My go-to solution is to use a vm and pass it raw access to the os disk on my normal desktop. Then I just put the disk into the server.

80/20 for 30€

But your post animated me to check, so there is one for 100/40 for 20€ now i switched to. Thank you!

Interesting. Could be useful.

Meanwhile letting a friend watch my game is still broken. And so is managing gifts in the inventory.

We have such a test too, but not as extremely dumb. But it's still in the realm of: how do you wear your high-vis-vest? A: well visible from all sides B: hidden under your jacket to not get it dirty.

We once had a very old house with a cellar that was not used and not built for living there in any way. So you had plain rock walls and it was pretty moist. I do not know why but there was a single basket of coal down there. So I have seen black coal but I have not touched it.

Crude oil I have seen too back in school. My teacher had a sample to be able to show it.

Man, I always found that weird but never looked it up...

If the game is on steam it is pretty easy. I just install the newest custom proton from glorious eggroll. And before i start a game for the first time is select this instead of the default proton. Then it just works generally. I don't check protondb anymore, only in case of problems. I can't even recall a game that doesn't work currently. Granted, i don't play AAA, only indie games.

List of the best:

  • against the storm
  • deep rock galctic
  • astroneer
  • dyson sphere program
  • escape simulator
  • factorio (native linux)
  • hardspace shipbreaker
  • outer wilds
  • timberborn
  • valheim (native linux)
  • vampire surviors
  • talos principle
  • war for the overworld

Maybe:

  • monster sanctuary
  • grow home/up (ubisoft development but without the bullshit what you normally get)
  • len's island
  • superliminal
  • wreckfest
  • guild wars 2 (not indie and not non-AAA but still good; but you have to tweak a lot for performant gameplay)

Thats a quick list that i got at a glance from steam. It is a collection of a lot of very different genres, so there should be at least something in there for everyone.

Some of them I have not played in years and not sure about their current state but i am sure that they only became better.

On one hand it's great that it works that way. On the other hand, I use youtube only sometimes on my tablet so I would like to have my subscriptions carried over. Can't have it all I guess.

OT but beware that nova launcher was sold to some "ad" company. I switched to neo launcher since.

"Remake" of industry giant 2. Not exactly though, more like similar because there are some painpoints to addess.

I certainly don't care if others get the game other ways (except unauthorized key stores). I am just happy that good games get their recognition and give people joy. I am in the fortunate situation that I am able to just buy all games I want. Heck, I even bought games for friends who were unsure or even dismissive "if it would be worth it". I also buy/bought games that I never played or won't play but watched streamers play it.

Weirdly, years ago when I last played it, I had to use proton because of performance problems. I have it in the backlog for for quite some time again already and hope I can use it natively with all its glory in 4k now.

Appimage might also be a way

My pc is on top of the desk and the ports are on top. The cable just hangs down and it is sufficiently long to allow mobility even a bit further away. It is also short enough that it cannot touch the floor.

It really did hit hard.

At least for me I could get into the next story part after I was like "wtf just happened" but for players at the time of release this was the latest part of the story and they were stuck with this awful last line for week(s).

I have never seen an implementation of e.g. a mirror that gives up on disagreements of both disks. Repairing/redundnancy is what raid is there for.

Edit: maybe old hardware raid does not check?

I am currently using the new outlook desktop version and there are rules. However, they seem to have cut "local only" stuff. I suspect that they moved the execution server side.

No problem! I hope you like some of them :)

Also, stronger, blinding sunlight and more headaches.

Glad that you might find some games interesting! The comment chains on lemmy are not working too great for me either. In the web UI of programming.dev and the liftoff app your comment in my notifications is fully interactable and therefore I am able to vote or reply. But if I remember correctly, the web UI is fully broken and shows my reply instead of your comment in my notifications if I reply. The context stuff is also interesting. On the web UI the context is not complete and I have no idea how it chooses what it shows. In the liftoff app it shows the context but a lot more than what I personally would call "context" (the complete tree of the root comment that was replied to). AND I am sorry, I missed your notification. The notifications in the liftoff app are so subtle that I basically have to check manually if I have any. And I don't check because I don't expect any.

Addendum: for Guild Wars 2 I have a shitty "guide" if you need one: https://gist.github.com/Nithanim/443362f7b76d9a8d18abea2cb0daa00e

Yeah, if you get this exception and not doing anything not-"normal" then the chance is high that there are multiple versions of the same class. A possible way to trigger this is when extracting code to a separate module without changing the package. If you copy instead of move and change something you will have a bad time. It is also possible that the IDE complains but building and executing works.

Fun times!
