One running on "Volts" and another running on "Watts" is like refusing to compare two cars because one car runs on Wheels and the other running on Motors

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: all the signs of a psychopath

“Extra Level”? It's more about taking the burden off the women for me. Why do they, and only they, always have to mess up their bodies?

I really have a hard time deciding if that is the scandal the article makes it out to be (although there is some backpedaling going on). The crucial point is: 8% of the decisions turn out to be wrong or misjudged. The article seems to want us to think that the use of the algorithm is to blame. Yet, is it? Is there evidence that a human would have judged those cases differently? Is there evidence that the algorithm does a worse job than humans? If not, then the article devolves onto blatant fear mongering and the message turns from "algorithm is to blame for deaths" into "algorithm unable to predict the future in 100% of cases", which of course it can't...

In a country that has neither got anything to do with Trump nor with the shooting... Someone needs to pamper a certain voter demographic, I'd say

As long as Johnny Cash is considered Country Music, it's not possible to "hate country music" anyway.

That's what the "I" at the beginning stands for. You guillotine yourself as much as you want.

I always love how baffled podcasters and such are when they report about crimes in other countries where criminals have to be protected from the public (like Germany) and they cannot find mugshots or even a last name.

It's none of our business, people.

Oh, wow, do you come off as uninformed! Birth control for women has tons and tons of side effects, and it's in no way easier to prevent successful ovulation than it is to prevent fertile sperm production. In fact, birth control drugs for men have been repeatedly blocked by regulators for having too many side effects, while those side effects pretty closely mirror those of the pill for women. So, interfering with everything from blood pressure to appetite is acceptable when women are affected, but can't be burdened upon men?

Interrupting the ovulation cycle comes at great cost for the body. All the “non-hormonal” ways of birth control we have (except the condom) require either poisonous metals and foreign objects to be pushed inside the uterus, increasing the risk for cysts, causing pain, and regular checkups and painful procedures to be applied or fitted (diaphragm). Or toxins to be applied straight into a woman's private parts (spermicides). Calendar-based methods and “pulling out” have large margins of error, as have condoms.

They could just have... You know... Sent someone to have a look around the place. They'd probably just found the AirPods. Or... They could have... You know.... Acted like humans instead of paranoid power tripping psychos and -and I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out - rung the doorbell and asked questions like "have you seen anything?"

From the outside, the US increasingly looks like an autocracy lead by those "judges" in the supreme court that apparently can not be touched in any way and somehow get to decide just about everything.

Not to forget, making choices for the very weakest we have: Children that are too sick to be vaccinated. Your “uneasiness” towards a little jab millions of people have survived absolutely fine might take someone else's little wonder away. Because you circle jerked a bit on facefuck or shitter.

How is Microsoft related to a tool to scan Linux for malware?

Because on Reddit (and here on Lemmy) people use up and downvotes exclusively to rate the quality of a post, not as a tool to show disapproval without having to be able to actually articulate why. I like when social interactions go exactly as intended - like in this case - and don't devolve into two people arguing with silent mobs behind them.

/s for everyone who's as blind to sarcasm as this shitty AI from Google.

That's more like a gamified Rorschach test. If you need sexual rewards to decide whether you should save a human life instead of the life of unprocessed salami, you are a psychopath.

It's always funny to see how inept and childish those companies seem when regulatory bodies don't just stop pursuing them after their first haphazard attempt to circumvent the rules.

Imagine being presented with an aircraft. You bloody well know what it does and you get permission to disassemble the whole thing to your heart's content. How big of a task do you think it'd still be to be able to work out how the winged metal tube works and why it does what it does when it does it?

Exactly.

I wanted to answer but there is a space missing or too much, idk. Long story short: my answer isn't working

Why exactly are we giving Nazis the power to poison language, emojis, what have you for the rest of us again?

I think we should do the opposite. As soon as some symbol becomes a dog whistle, we should all rush to use it for it's original meaning as much as possible, thus preventing the dog from hearing the whistle where it's supposed to be used as such.

First of all: haha, funny, your nickname is in the OP

Secondly: how are your links you referred us to showing that the joke made is eurocentric and racist? What's real GDP growth (that's what the map you linked showed) got to do with anything? Why is the corruption perception index any indication of how hard life is gonna be if you are born in a certain place? It doesn't show how much corruption there is or the effects of said corruption, just how corrupt things are perceived as.

And regarding the happiness index.... Have you looked at the page? It lists almost exclusively countries within Europe, so that would support the joke, would it not?

Just my subjective take, but you can add a "for women" after everything people like this say to better get the real meaning:

Carson, who is often mentioned as a potential Trump VP, writes in his new book that the U.S. should end no-fault divorce laws.

... for women

You sound just like my financial advisor! It's not “porn”, it's an investment in young people's futures, Jake!
