Sleepy catgirl, who loves common lisp (And other lisp dialects)

Also learning languages (e.g Japanese)

Sadly, oftentimes, Forums are replaced by discord, despite... how different those are.

And, discord is inferior in so many ways. Not only you can't easily search for the content, you also need an account on centralized proprietary software, that also is quite resource heavy. Not to mention the privacy concerns.

Steam.

A linux client that works, and actually gets fixes, improvements, and features, that is a lot.

Davinci Resolve

Really good video editor, and also, has Linux client.

Okay...

Well, Programming - Except I am doing it.. slowly. A lot of the days I just.. feel stuck. Depressed. Buuut, I keep trying. I mainly use Common Lisp, and I try to make small games, or.. things that will help me do something (e.g scrape some text and put together a epub?)

Reading books - This one, I can do a lot. Simply, a pleasure. I tend to do this with an approach of spray n pray, aka: Read few minutes of a book -> Move to next for few minutes, and I keep doing that few times a day, or more, and more often than not, It sticks, and I get actual big times out of that. (The result is, I am reading 5 books at once lmao)

Learning Japanese - This one, I am combining with my previous hobby, and I am simply aiming to read at the very least ~1 hour per day of reading in Japanese. Is fun.

There was also pixelart at some point, but I haven't been doing that in a while. Maybe I should try again? Could be fun, again.. perhaps..

Obviously, also, games. You know, some TF2 there and there, Hunt:Showdown, with friends.

Still thinking, if there are any other things I could try, and.. wide out hobbies.

It is real nice to see how lemmy/kbin, and activitypub in general, progressing. It kinda.. gives me a bit of hope for the future? Either way, am happy :D

Yep, same here.

Thankfully there is enough games for me to be happy

Yep. It is a bit funny, and sad to see how we are regressing, despite the technology going forward...

I think I will survive without Wayland.. I will miss gamescope a bit, but, it is what it is.

Steam UI.. good thing I don't spend much time there.

Proprietary driver, shouldn't be a problem. (seems it is easy to install, at least on NixOS) And I don't run secure boot, so, no issues on that front :D

No DLSS, I will survive. FSR cute anyway :3

Also thanks for extensive reply, I appreciate :)

Pretty meh. But at the same time, decent, but not.

So, on one hand, I got more time to spend time with friend in Hunt Showdown, fun game. On another.. I Kinda went down on reading time.. I am still averaging over hour per day, buut, it would be nice to read more q.q And I want to read more in Japanese, but some days, its just... struggle train.

I am always looking forward to new KOReader releases :D

I already have a desktop, but.. So, in bed.. I have socket right next to me. No problem. Uni? There is always a free socket.

Like, I probably will get a battery somewhere down the line, it is just, not a requirement or priority at the moment

Oooh, I will check out Aegis and LibreTube, thanks :3

Yup. Fun times!

Thanks, I am definitely going to have fun with it.. While, upgrading to quadcore i7 will wait a longer while, I might buy cheap used SSDs + adapter, and run 3 SSDs in RAIDZ1, just for the heck of it. Will it be practical? Probably no. Will it be fun? Hell yea.

Also, I hope, the person who got that W540, that they very much enjoyed it as well :D

Ooh, cute app, thanks :3

Hell yea we do use emacs!

It is comfy to see Haiku development

Though, I will consider actually running Haiku, when quicklisp is working =w=

jtx board seems nice.. I will check it out, thanks :3

CoQ is indeed a quality game, that I would recommend. Another one, if you are interested in sci-fi, Cogmind. It has pretty amazing graphics, even if you use ASCII style.

CDDA, is fun sci-fi post-apocalypse, with zombies. But its complex. But real fun.

If you go for the Kobo Clara HD (Not the newer one), you can go around the storage size by replacing the internal microSD card (It is a bit of work, yes, but it works, and is doable)

Also, on Kobo, it is very easy to put KOReader on as well, so very much, comfy.

Not much myself to be honest.

  • uBlock Origin, to make the web a bearable experience
  • Yomichan for learning Japanese

And that's it. I don't really need much more.

It is not as much as others, but:

  • I actually submitted something that resembles a game, though, more of a prototype, to a lisp game jam that happened a while ago
  • This time I pulled off in total, 60 hours of reading, books.
  • I am still studying Japanese daily
  • Still alive :D

Software, services come and go, so maybe, soon enough...

Honestly, depends. I find both non-hand writing, and hand-writing to be important.

Generally, I prefer to write.. with keyboard. And, plaintext org via org-roam files with git are really pleasant to use, and organize.

But math? Or some uni stuff? Writing is a bit more.. fitting. Buut, plain paper won't work for me.

Here, e-ink devices come into the play. E.g Onyx Tab Ultra. Really comfy to make notes on. And then later, I can export to pdf, and sync them across devices via syncthing.

Yeah. Actually, regular coke was my gateway drink to a coke zero lol, in my case. Like.. if I consume too much sugar, I will feel anxious, hyper, and just.. meh.

But Coca Cola Zero? I will mostly feel fine. And even more so, I found.. the Zero to taste better than standard Coke? So, its a win-win for me :D

Ah, so, things will be fine for me, thanks

Oh yea, Forgot to list Termux, but, since my 10.3" inch e-ink tablet broke, I haven't been using it as often :c Using emacs inside it, and having lisp.. was mega comfy

Ah, I will, thanks :3

Oooh... How... how expensive can be fencing? Because, kinda.. sounds fun?

1 more...

Oh That is actually.. not that bad. I think, once I find a job again, I will definitely go for it. Thanks

On desktop, emacs + org, on phone, obsidian. Maybe if I figure out how to put emacs properly on the phone, then will move all to org..

Yea, NixOS is still the most tempting, because the ease of ZFS (I plan to get 2 more used SSDs, and slap RAIDZ1 on it for memes and fun xD)

I have been running NixOS for a fair amount of time by now, and I can confirm, its a rad concept. Though I find NixOS the most comfy, becuase can run ZFS, and certain things, much more easily.

But yea, Silverblue, Kinote, and others, are nice as well.

Oh, I do it a bit differently. I just buy on PC, download azw3, deDRM, then convert to epub with calibre, and yoink onto the devices with syncthing, to read on koreader Also, AI enlarger seems nice, so I will check it out

Ooh, nice to see more lemmy clients

Man, I used to have PSP back in the day, and I loved it.

And now, I am kinda pondering, on buying a PS Vita, for some emulation. And I think I sure will do that. Just.. gotta get money first..

It is very much a nice distro.

Some things it does so well, for example, it took away all the pain, in regards to using ZFS, and nvidia drivers. It just works. No messing with "Will this kernel work with nvidia?" and such.

And if something does break, being able to still use, the pre-update system, is just life saver sometimes.

Ooh, an open source weather app. Might check it out. I did try Joplin, but.. Ultimately it just wasn't what I was looking for Thanks :3

Nice, have fun :D

On Mastodon (Albeit I have some plans to move to misskey, but whether it will be self-hosted, I have to figure that out) @Nyoelle@mstdn.starnix.network

Hunt: Showdown.

The thrill, the suspense, and at times, action.

In theory, could do that with EfT too, but, EfT doesn't work on Linux, so that doesn't count :/ (And, with the recent changes, I feel EfT became too much of grindfest, while Hunt feels.. chill at times. Which I love.)
