Firefox has been able to block all third-party / cross-site cookies for ages. It's just not the default because it breaks some sites. But dive into the settings and you can easily set it to block all cross-site cookies, or even all cookies if you prefer.

Be warned though, some x265 stuff out there, particularly at 1080p and lower, is a reencode of a x264 source file. So lower filesize, but also slightly lower quality. Scene regulations say only higher resolutions should be x265.

Don't forget that games are significantly cheaper on PC, especially if you wait for the first sale (which'll come much quicker on PC). The upfront cost is indeed higher, but depending on how many games you buy you'll probably recoup that cost within one console generation.

There are more errors. Eve Online is 20 years old, not 18. He even lists 2003 as the release year. And Palia has been playable for a couple of months now, so it could have included far more information than that.

Which problems? As far as I can tell this solves zero problems for users of websites. Wanting to replace captchas with this is just another arms race that normal users will suffer from.

My i3 has an OBD-II port, and it's not the only EV that has one. Bimmercode can change A LOT of vehicle settings through the port, and software like ABRP can use it to read out the battery level and route you to the next charger when needed.

If everything went fine during production you're probably right. But there have definitely been batches of hard disks with production flaws which caused all drives from that batch to fail in a similar way.

Consent-o-matic automatically answers cookie pop-ups for you, so saves heaps of time. It also works fine on mobile if you load it into Firefox nightly with a custom collection.

Absolutely love this game. Played it from beginning to end on the PC multiple times over the decades. The original floppy version that is, not the poncy CD version he's using! 😂

Consent-O-Matic is a massive timesaver and works great on mobile. Not sure if you can install it directly these days, I use my own collection.

Proof of stake gets around the electricity usage. Of the chains that are still big it's really only bitcoin and it's derivatives that still use a lot of energy.

Oh I agree with your post, but I was responding to Valmond who used different criteria.

Most of the delays are effectively from pre-ordering. I ordered mine just after last Christmas, got it the first week in January. Would have probably been faster without the holidays. Also, get the AMD model if you can, it's much better than the Intel offerings.

You can have all three of those, but you won't get great performance. The Samsung QVO SATA drives are a great example. I wouldn't use those for an OS drive but they're fantastic for NAS or media use.

Hyper Light Drifter really deserves a mention too!

This used to be the norm, not a weird thing that noone has thought of before. If you do this your kernel will be a lot smaller, boot faster, and be a bit more secure. Once you're booted it won't make any meaningful speed difference though.

That's not true, "regular" Li-ion batteries have become tremendously cheaper and have increased their capacity by a lot in the past decade. The next jump in their capacity is about 50% more again, and it's already being previewed by the big battery manufacturers. They're not going to be cheap though.

btop has GPU stats in recent versions.

It takes care of most cookie consent popups you get when visiting a new website. And it can automatically deny anything that hurts your privacy.

By default it refuses everything, you can set it to accept different kinds of cookies though. I set it to accept functional cookies for example.

It really isn't. We know it's possible, we roughly know how to build one, it's only our material science that isn't there yet. But there are promising leads in that direction and with the right investments that problem looks solvable.

With FTL our current science is saying that it's probably impossible and will never happen. We might be wrong about that, but if we are it's not going to be cracked anytime soon.

I think the kinks have been worked out. Samsung is on it's fifth generation of foldables already and Motorola has made multiple as well that haven't been released in the states. No idea about the custom ROMs though.

Good on you for getting it fixed. One of the reasons Linux is a great OS in my opinion is that everything is in the file system and not in some arcane hidden thing. So every problem is solvable without a reinstall if you're motivated enough to figure it out.

Check out Azeron products, they're specifically made for this type of problem. Incidentally they'd also work great for moving over your shooting buttons to your non-aiming hand.

Both the Razr and the Flip are fantastic devices. I ended up with the Flip 5 primarily because all the discounts and free watches that were thrown around meant I could get the Flip 5 effectively for hundreds of euros cheaper than the Razr. So check out your local pricing before making a decision.

Take a look at the Azeron Cyro. It combines a high quality mouse, a ton of programmable buttons and a thumbstick, so it has everything you need for one-handed gaming in the vast majority of games. Might not be what you're looking for, but it's good to know that there are possibilities that you probably haven't considered yet. It even comes in a left-handed version.

The EVE Online of today has very little to do with the game that came out 21 years ago. It's been kept up to date very well, the graphics are really nice and the game has been made a lot better for new players. A new expansion just dropped so now it's actually a pretty good time to try it out.

As for mining in peace: that's totally doable if you know what you're doing. The best advice would be to join a mining/building corporation as soon as possible and have them show you the ropes. The element of risk never goes completely away, and you should always be prepared to lose the ship you are flying, but the risks are very manageable, to the point where you should almost never lose a ship unless you're actively taking more risk.

You should seriously consider a flip phone if pocket size is your main concern. They've become really good by now.
