I love these types of games, and I've tried to get into it multiple times... But everything feels like it's on such a strict timer. I just want to chill and farm/explore/talk to people without worrying if I spent too much time enjoying myself doing any one particular thing. If it had some kind of sandbox mode or if you could slow down the time, I'd give it another go.

Recommend actually clicking and watching the vid of the surgeon speaking. The tldr bot does not convey the absolute horrors that this man witnessed.

Just let your GP know. I recently got a blood test done to figure out what I've been immunised against. Highly recommend.

AI doctors are probably going to be a thing whether we want them or not, one way or another in the near future. I don't think it'll be going away. https://health.google/health-research/

Persevere.

I'm kinda surprised to see them training them one at a time. That's going to take ages. "OK, Roger has been successfully intimidated by the nightmare puppet. Looks like Brenda is next in line, someone bring in Brenda."

I befriended a lawyer in a online game years ago. When he found out I took the bible literally, we had debates about it, and he'd break down some of the passages in Revelations and try to get me to justify stuff like dragons. It opened my eyes to how ridiculous some things were, and how there was a reason one of the first things we were taught (Baptist) was not to question anything.

How it seems every religion believes they're the "One True" religion, and the whole rest of the world is wrong. How throughout history, it's fueled wars, and been used as a method to control people more than a way to help people.

How some priests garb themselves in expensive robes and surround themselves with gold or drive luxury cars, or preach on TV from practically a stadium while passing around the donations plate through a crowd of poor people while promising a afterlife gated by pearls.

I'll stop here but yeah. It was actually a pretty devastating realisation for me, as religion was a huge part of my life up to that point.

"If a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind, then give me the electric chair for all my future crimes."

It would be interesting to know how many people are using it for themselves. I'd think it would open up next level catfishing. Here's an actual pic of me, and here's a pic of what I might look like naked. I'm sure some people with photoshop skills we're already doing that to a certain extent, but now it's accessible to everyone.

Was just about to post this. I read it in the 90s, expecting something more along the lines of a scifi Xanth style story. Got a traumatising, f'd up sexual fever dream. To this day some of the shit from that story pops in my head sometimes.

Guess that explains why Harry Mack is stopping Omegle Bars.

This sounds like Space Quest. Have a look at this excerpt from a walkthrough and see if it sounds familiar:

"After escaping the Arcada before its destruction you crash land on the planet Kerona. Before you do anything “take off seatbelt”. Look at the pod and “take kit”. This is your survival kit. Look kit and you will find an Xenon army knife and dehydrated water.

“Get out” and walk to the front of the pod. “Take glass”. This is reflective glass that we’ll need later on.

Walk to the right three screens and then take the path that leads up. Follow the path all the way around over a bridge that will crack as you walk on it. A spider droid will drop to the ground at some stage. Just ignore it for now. There are two pillars at the end of the path. Stand between them and you’ll be lowered into the earth by a secret elevator."

Check out some screenshots along w/ the rest of the walkthrough here: http://gamerwalkthroughs.com/space-quest-1-walkthrough-the-sarien-encounter/

I'm really looking forward to the possibility of having friendly banter with an AI similar to the interactions in "Her". I think it'd be cool to be able to go about mundane tasks while chatting away to an AI with a sense of humour.

That is an amazing photo. I feel like you need to enter it into an animal photo comp. If nothing else, print and frame it.

Pies.

Judging by the comments on that post, they're just trying to run away from all the porn bots.

Dragon Warrior on NES is what really got me hooked. I'd played games on Atari but Dragon Warrior was my first introduction to rpgs. I'm glad the franchise is still going strong. Have slime magnets on my fridge.

I love disaster films and I thought "Knowing" was great. I do think the ending could've been better, but everything up to that point was very entertaining.

Tidal Wave (2009) is a Korean disaster flick that has some of the most realistic tsunami scenes I've ever seen (some fun over-the-top ones too). Takes a while to get to the action, it makes sure you care about the characters before all hell breaks loose. Definitely worth checking out.

Pokemon. And I will sing the whole thing shamelessly.

Needs more pickle.

With peace of mind that my family will be ok.

Nobody wants to dissapoint Keanu.

I'd be sticking to a leather couch, which would not be pleasant.

Really well done video. Could've easily passed for a Netflix doco. Loved it.
