Few things frustrate in the same way as technical difficulties, so I hope you don't have to suffer them for long. Here's to hoping you're fully on your digital feet again shortly!

1: No nasty spikes intended to harm 2: Someone falls, you pick em up 3: No aiming for the face 4: Don't keep in people who clearly want no part of the pit

He was the best frontman motörhead ever had

You might like the game tyranny. Just finished playing it and it was quite enjoyable.

this is the most important rule

I think I discovered most new stoner and doom bands on youtube: 666MrDoom.

A lot of the time I hear new music from different genres by hanging out with friends.

And bandcamp is also a good tool for discovering new stuff.

I'm a big fan of stonerrock and doom, and a lot of bands within those genres have a tendency to remain pretty much the same, musically, lyrically and atmospherically. Bands like orange goblin, fu manchu, nebula, weedeater, acid king, bongzilla, sleep, dopelord, conan, etc. do not change that much about their music over time. Which is fine by me, not all bands have to reinvent themselves to remain interesting to me.

Ooh, I have my own version of this:

Ingredients:

4 large Crumbly potatoes

1 Onion (large)

2 Eggs (large)

Grated cheese (preferably Gouda)

Herbs: Salt, pepper, oregano, paprika powder.

Cut the potatoes in equal sizes cubes, Par-boil the cubes.

Then put them in a large frying pan with lots of butter, bake until browning\Maillard starts.

Then throw in the onions, fruiting them, then add the two beaten eggs.

Add the cheese on top, with the salt, pepper and herbs.

Put the lid on, let it settle on low heat for ten minutes.

Great hangover food.

While it is possible for others who do not speak the language to be sufficiently fooled into believing he spoke it fluently, it would be really weird if a university lecturer would give lectures in a nonexistent language without anyone commenting on it.

Used to play a lot of RTS, both single and multiplayer. The last one I bought was the new AoE game. It did scratch a bit of the itch, but on the whole was a letdown. Before that it was Iron Harvest, which was visually pleasing but clunky. I am still looking for an RTS I can really get lost in.

Any recommendations?

thanks for sharing gnoosic, it's already given me some unknown stuff that is right up my alley :)

One thing I noticed when travelling through the states is how many American cities have no city centre with just pedestrian traffic. Everything is made with cars in mind, everything is a thoroughfare. In the city where I live in the Netherlands, I can get on my bike and be in the city centre within fifteen minutes. It's faster to get there by bike, than it is by car. and the city is better for it.

I like going to the market on foot, visiting the city centre on foot, going to pubs, and restaurants, and everything you want out of a city on foot, bike or public transit. You guys would like it too if you convinced city planners to give it a try.

Some of these are specific, my apologies.

Waste time with today

I used to spend loads of time on forums (mostly for metalheads), and also the late and great Barbelith.

Let the forum follow the function.

This was also the first song I thought of

Love clutch, the lyrics are certainly something that helps them stand out from the crowd

Interesting, what made you go back to the faith you were raised in?

The zen coin flip was the first thing I thought of when reading OP's post.

Like you states, it does not replace the act of choosing.

But you can gauge by your own reaction to the result of the coin flip, which option you think deep down is the best.

Arch enemy comes to mind.

I was in the north of Norway recently, and it was really weird how my sleep cycle was completely disturbed by the continuous light. I'd think it would get easier if you live there for a long time but apparently no?

Joost mag het weten.

People find it weird when I say I actually like doing the dishes by hand. Good to see I'm not alone.

AC/DC - if you want blood - best live album of all time, peak Bon Scott era.

Motorhead - No sleep till hammersmith - with the classic line up and some of their best tunes played at deafening volume.

This is 50 % mashup and 50% fever dream. Love it!

I am also partial to this

Crumbling castle is my favorite King Gizz song, and this album is definitely in my top three. Glad you liked it, but be prepared to fall down an amazing rabbit hole!

Another easy auto-battler would be Super auto pets. Easy to play on short breaks.

Do you mean Dutch kwark or German ?

How are the red potatoes with regard to taste? Are they sweeter or about the same as general brown potatoes?

Sounds great, I will give it a try

Thanks I'll give it a try!

Gulden Draak (spelling?)

You are correct :)

Let it be has to have pride of place

many thanks!

  • doodling (it's both creative and a kind of meditation)

  • reading (physical books, usually before going to sleep)

  • playing bass (6 strings is too many)

  • TTRPG (preferably always in person)

People have made entire flowcharts to guide people towards their ideal King gizzard album.

They are so prolific that they have something for everyone. It is important to find the right entry point though.

Their lastest album is more thrash than doom or stoner. I like all three of those genres, but if you are into the doomy kind of stuff they made an excellent track called "great chain of being", which is my favorite track off of the album Gumboot Soup.

I finally got the chance to see them live this year and it was great, like three different sets molded into one.

I saw heilung live for the first time this year and it was magical, I wonder if the album could do the experience justice.

Also, +1 for picking people up that fall down and holding up a shoe/pair of glasses/hat/etc. that you find on the ground.

The first time I went to a metal gig (Iced Earth) I lost my glasses and people actually stopped to help me look for them. Amazingly, they were unbroken.

Yeah it's pretty weird how a lot of actors are cast to play russians, except people of actual russian background. I wonder why that is, holdover from cold war sentiment? or are there just too few Russian actors in hollywood?
