Reddit expat who's not going back.

When I was 15, my dad purchased me a plaster saw (still have it) and handed me his drill.

Then told me to make it look neat, but "don't fuck up because your mother will kill us both".

I ran about 4 network points through the house.

Nothing like fear to produce a 100% perfect finish 😉

Done with Reddit. Lemmy is the way

Finding it way easier to engage and comment. Don't have to wade through thousands of shit comments on Lemmy. Loving it!

This was an older stumped house. The way I did it was to remove a power point, look in the wall cavity for where the cable came up out of the floor in the cavity space, and then assuming there was no obstruction, I then got under the floor and drilled up. In most cases I was able to stay a good 20cm or so away from the power cable. Worked a charm. I was paranoid if I got it wrong I'd be drilling right up through the actual floor.

Nowadays, doing the same at my own house.... Cut the plaster. Run cable. Patch plaster. No stuffing around with the slowly slowly approach 🤷‍♂️

After leaving Evernote way back when I was in the wilderness for a while. Finally landed on notesnook, haven't gone back since.

Started on lemmy.ml, when they were experiencing some performance issues I decided to "be distributed" away from one of the main instances. Decided on one geographically in my home country.

Screenshots of the config screen attached. I'm not connected to the unit right now, hence the error message.

Ahh autocorrect 🤦

I haven't tried the multiple phone song and dance on the unit. It lives in my old 4x4 which my wife refuses to drive.

We do have a similar issue with our other car however '05 Subaru Forester (non Android Auto). It randomly connects phones - as in I can be sitting in the car, start up to go somewhere and the car connects to my wife's phone while she and it are in the house. The only reliable option I've found (only practical if we're both in the car) is to quickly tap Bluetooth off on one phone before starting the car. If your Honda is starting with a Bluetooth connection, then I'm guessing the same solution should work.

No stress, glad I pointed you down a hopefully workable path. Good luck mate 😉 And yes the US tax. Purchased mine from Amazon US, I'm down in Australia. Even with the higher cost it has been an absolute joy even with my single-phone use case.

Never had any issues with the unit. As mentioned I have an old 4x4 with an aftermarket head unit (Sony XAV-AX5000) and have never experienced any audio issues. This car is our family "adventure vehicle" so we use it for long road trips and camping adventures - in short when it gets driven it's often for a longer multi-hour journey, with music playing the whole way

Get the AAWireless instead 😉

Was a genuine challenge. I ended up purchasing a copy for my whole family so everyone can use it.
