For the Netherlands, Urk. Which I always thought sounds aptly like orc.

The hobbit movies should have fleshed out the dwarf characters better with all that extra time, give each of them a substory spread out over the trilogy so they would be more memorable. They did that with only one of the dwarves and it's a silly love triangle that barely goes into the character of said dwarf. With the movie we got, ask any average person directly after seeing the movies to name the dwarves, i bet hardly anyone can.

I really like the top post per 6/12 hours, that way you can really keep up with popular posts.

He has looked like that far before trump meant something outside of the US.

I always tell people when they step out on the streets, they walk in a democracy. Yet when they step into the office, they walk into a dictatorship.

Edit:Typo.

If an edit changes the context of the comment, then sure, put up an edit note. But no one cares if you erase typos.

But it's not free. Pretty important point for a lot of people.

Imagine this guy watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, sees all the Taserface jokes and he goes: "I don't get it, Taserface is a cool name."

Lemmy show you the way.

I bought premium lite because I often watch youtube on my TV which just has a better bitrate compared to using my web browser. Is there any way to get that better bitrate without paying for the full premium?

As i see this post is getting downvoted, don't think i like paying for it. There just wasn't a feasible alternative for what i wanted. Downvoting questions like these isn't helping, it's just bullying.

We're not on YouTube because of the companie or its service, but for the people who create content on that platform. The problem is there isn't a viable alternative for either creator or consumer, which basically makes YouTube a monopoly.

Starfield was originally planned to be released 2 years ago. But when Microsoft took over they gave Bethesda another 2 year development time, which they mainly used for polishing if you believe the talk about that. In that case it's not surprising that the requirements are more comparable to games of 2 years ago instead of current releases.

OP's phone kept posting to keep Lemmy active until the bitter end. o7

Apparently there was a directors cut that got lost somehow...

I've always read that as striving for something that isn't easily achieved

Doesn't support LG tv's sadly. Thanks for the response though.

I do agree that the workers should be paid, but they have absolutely no say in what the company does at the top. It might be that a lot of them don't agree with the company's actions. Only way to remedy that is to democratize companies.

Just because It hasn't been mentioned yet: Terra Nova. It's a shame it had to be cancelled because of Spielberg's ego.

I had to surgically remove a tooth because it came at an already replaced tooth. So i guess I'm your nemesis.

Starting with what I dislike: collectibles (or pickup upgrades). They spread these out over the levels and I find myself scouring the map to see if i didn't miss anything. It ruins the pacing of the game. Some examples of my recent plays that do this are the Last of Us games and the Mass Effect trilogy. If the game is build around exploring your surroundings, it's a different story of course.

What I really like in games is character building and i love it when a character improves depending on your playstyle. A very solid example is Skyrim's leveling system. It just feels more organic.

IWantToWiFi / IWantToWeeFee (In my country wifi is often pronounced as weefee)

Row row row your boat...

Bunraku, and despite the title it's an english movie with Woody Harrelson and Ron Perlman. Its setting stands out the most as it's made as a giant paper popup book with a sin city ambiance sprinkled with some cartoony humor.

Although the movie tone is pretty serious ala Sin City, it's not a serious movie at all. And I believe a lot of dont-take-it-so-serious movies got unjustly canned a lot in '00s & '10s by critics. I'm glad to see that's changing a bit over last few years.

The series creators wanted to film the series in Hawaii. But another little dino project was also filmed on that location: Spielberg's Jurassic Park. Spielberg also happened to be a producer of Terra Nova. He didn't want Terra Nova to be filmed on Hawaii out of fear it would be too similar to Jurassic Park and he practically vetoed it away. This forced the creators to look elsewhere and i believe they settled on New Zealand. The problem however was that it was massively more expensive to film a series there. The costs eventually canned the series.

Endless Legend is the most beautiful 4x game I've seen so far. All of the races are great designs and feel really different in gameplay.

Yes i realy miss an option to sort comment by votes as default. I hope that gets implemented at some point.

Yes that's the only one that looked the part. The others are hardly recognisable.

I actually do use some of those. Having said that, it's not jus the consumers who have to use the alternatives, but also the creators. Like I said people are on YouTube for the content creators, not for YouTube itself. And the consumerbase on those alternatives is just too small to make them a VIABLE alternative. Hence why you see so many creators on nebula also on YouTube.

The Mass Effect trilogy and simultaneously making a guide in Notion containing who to bring for unique dialogue, collectibles and instructions if they're not given in game.

Exactly, it's like people burning the library of Alexandria again. And in some cases it doesnt stop traffic. The post with question will often stay. Just removing something because you don't like someone's actions... Sounds just like u/spez. And so they've become the thing they vowed to destroy.
