Uhhhhh honey what you're describing is called "theft". Also known as "fraud" if you want a different name.

But to answer your question, I usually shit during working hours, so I get paid to shit. It's a great feeling.

  1. DON'T CONNECT TO WI-FI

  2. Shit+F10 (you might need to hit Fn+Shift+F10) will open up command prompt

  3. OOBE\BYPASSNRO

  4. It should now reboot and give you the option to make a local account in the fine print

Brendan Eich is vocally against gay marriage, it's not a secret. Also Brave is fuckin SKETCHY. They've always come up with "creative" ways of making money, sometimes inserting affiliate links into their users' searches, sometimes selling their data, other times getting into weird crypto schemes.

Every time somebody catches them doing something sketchy, they put out a big "OOPS SORRY THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT" statement, and their fanboys just forgive them and act like it's no big deal. Then they troll Reddit (and now Lemmy) blindly repeating how great and privacy-focused Brave is.

The only browser worth your time is Firefox. If you insist on sticking with a Chromium-based browser (which is most of them, including Brave), then Arc is pretty damn cool.

Just go to the desktop site, you don't have to log in. Things are going well, in case you're curious 😆:

lots of FUCKSPEZ already

EDIT: apparently "Hurensohn" is German for "son of a bitch"

The game has been free for 16 years. This is the paid version to support the devs, literally because they're getting old and they have medical bills to pay.

This one's pretty mild: I always answer my phone with "Yellow?"

Nobody has ever noticed or questioned me about it.

This right here. We are undoubtedly the plastic generation. And it's not letting up any time soon; our kids will be included in this cohort as well. Banning plastic bags in cities is next to useless when everything we eat, everything we drink, and everything we buy is wrapped in plastic.

Something that people need to realize: If you want a VPN for PRIVACY, Mullvad (edit: also maybe IVPN) is the only good option on this list. They make it very easy for you to maintain complete anonymity, they don't even WANT your email address, you can use crypto, or you can literally mail them an envelope of cash with a note inside containing your unique ID and they'll load up your account with that value. It's ridiculous how seriously they take this stuff. And if you're really concerned about privacy, you should also be taking extra steps like using a hardened OS and browser, and using disposable virtual machines. But I suspect that most of us here aren't that concerned with actual privacy.

If you want a VPN for PIRACY, any of these options are probably fine as long as they don't block or slow torrent traffic. Just use the fastest one here that you can afford. The only thing you're really doing in this case is blocking your torrent traffic from your ISP. Remember, if you give them a credit card and your email address, then that's not private! It's just for piracy. It's important to look at your priorities and pick a VPN accordingly.

H265 is objectively superior in just about every way UNLESS you're trying to play it on hardware that doesn't support it. The only reason to use H264 is for broad compatibility.

Maybe, but there are LOT of weirdly aggressive Brave fanboys out there that would probably say shit like this without getting paid. Not sure how they convinced people that they were so great. Brave is a decent browser but it has a sketchy history, just like the people behind it. Would definitely recommend staying away.

Adobe is a bloated garbage company that hasn't truly innovated in a decade, they're just hoarding their proprietary tools and formats to squeeze as much money out of customers as possible.

  1. American internet is garbage, as others have already pointed out.
  2. The term "third world country" is outdated, inaccurate, and usually offensive. It often comes off as racist, even if that's not intentional. Try to avoid using it unless you're sure it's appropriate (it almost never is).

What that designation OFFICIALLY meant is that the country remained neutral during the Cold War. That's all! The "First World" countries were NATO allies and the "Second World" countries were the other side led by the Soviet Union. The implication is that the countries that didn't pick a side in the Cold War were underdeveloped (which is a flawed assumption, but it was partially correct AT THE TIME).

More recently, the term has become synonymous with "poor" countries, usually those filled with non-white people. Which is dumb, because plenty of the first- and second-world countries WERE and ARE very poor. And some countries that WERE under-developed during the Cold War have since become more developed. India is the most obvious example, it's surpassing China in a lot of population+economic metrics now.

tl;dr "third world country" is a designation that's not only offensive; it's outdated, inaccurate, and dumb.

If your account is doing something automated, then it is functioning as a bot, doesn't matter if you also use the same account for non-bot things. I'd just make a second bot account to avoid confusion and bans.

This logic is so flawed lol. It's also completely trivial for them to detect when their anti-adblock script has been blocked. If it gets blocked, then they can just stop serving you videos.

There are websites that already do this; it's not theoretical. The website just doesn't work if it detects an adblocker.

The point of this machine is to be repairable, not cheap. It allows you to keep the same machine for longer and reduce your e-waste in the long term.

EDIT: and yes, if you're not interested in repairability then it's not really worth it.

Lmao dude it doesn't matter at all

Well, this happens to affect the Ryzen 5 3600, which I'm pretty sure is one of AMD's most popular processors ever....so you're certainly not alone.

I don't think he's QAnon. I don't think he believes MOST of the nutjobs that he lets on his show, or even cares what they believe. But he lets a bunch of QAnon people on his show, so a bunch of QAnon people listen to him. And he keeps letting weirdos on his show because that's what his listeners want.

I would agree that the context is entirely different in Asia, his show is mostly harmful to Americans and wouldn't affect other countries much.

The mildly homophobic nature of the question is hilarious. "Would you want to live forever if you also had to be a little bit gay????"

Supposedly this is a temporary logo until they can create a more permanent one. It literally came from some random that tweeted at him (X'd at him? Lol). He asked for submissions and just chose one, maybe he accidentally laid off all the graphic designers.

That's an antique. The list of stuff you want to run probably needs several gigabytes of RAM. I think Nextcloud alone needs 512MB. I'd recommend newer hardware, you can find stuff on ebay for under $100 that would be a LOT more powerful than what you have.

1337x.to and The Pirate Bay are the popular options, if you want your torrent easily accessible then put it on both of those.

It's not a sensible path for a school with budget constraints (which is most schools). They would need to come up with a new MDM solution because they can't manage their computers with Google anymore. So their IT costs would increase dramatically, probably more money than they would save by keeping the old hardware alive. The simplest path forward is to just buy new Chromebooks.

It's basically the gold standard, audited and proven. I hear good things about IVPN as well.

I think 50k is definitely on the low end of what you might consider a "city". And you're right, it would depend on density. IMO a city with that population can't really sustain a bus system if it's spread out too much.

No, because you've posted SEVENTEEN TIMES today simping for Linus. You keep repeating "wait for both sides" even though Linus already responded directly to the GN piece and his response was GARBAGE, which is the main reason a lot of people are unsubscribing. Madison's problem isn't the only issue, it's just another thing we're throwing onto the pile.

If this was a male employee you wouldn't be arguing this hard with the accusations.

"perfectly preserved"

Looks like a dusty old skeleton to me, but I understand that it's a significant finding.

Not sure what you're on about, Google is absolutely capable of detecting if you're using Ublock Origin, Piped, ReVanced, whatever. The question isn't if they CAN break those things, it's just if they WILL.

And if they're beta testing this system right now, I'd say it's just a matter of time.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. It's possible that this site you found is perfectly safe, but it's also very possible that it's a honeypot or they're serving up their cracks with a side of malware. I would recommend known torrent websites and reputable crack builders. Running a custom, unsigned .exe is already a risky activity, don't make it more dangerous.

Wait, what the hell happened at the end with the enormous "FUCK SPEZ!" that covered the whole thing? Watch the timelapse, you can see it as all the pixels start to fade to white:

Read past the (admittedly misleading) headline. This article is about double-sided perovskite solar panels, which is apparently just a better material, and maybe it benefits more from the double-sided structure? Not sure of the specifics, but they're saying efficiency can reach 30%, which is a lot higher than your example.

GTFO with this low effort spam

It's getting old. I did the thing, I deleted my Reddit account and moved to Lemmy. So I kinda just want to remove Reddit from my mind for a while, I don't see the need to let it live rent-free in my head.

I don't have a definitive answer to your first question, but why would we want to limit a sub to FOSS-only discussion? It's a more restrictive designation. By calling the sub "open source" we're keeping it open to software that isn't technically FOSS.

I'm smart enough to know that there's a lot I don't know, and I took enough psychology classes to know that IQ tests are basically made-up nonsense. Comparing your intelligence to others is a losing battle and a waste of time.

There are different ways to do it, some decent, some bullshit. And it's only useful if it's powered by renewable energy like wind/solar. But it's largely unregulated, so a lot of corps grossly overestimate the amount of carbon they're capturing. Or just flat out lie.

The main problem is that it's presented as some sort of big solution, when it's more like putting a SpongeBob band-aid on a gunshot wound. Corps use it to justify continuing to fuck the atmosphere with things like....jet fuel, for example.
