"The challenge is that no single cause can be identified for the declining rate." Sure you can: capitalism.

I believe it started out as a joke to post ancient memes. And then it just took off and people kept posting them.

That and like most other people said: on average there are older people here, so they relate to the memes of yore.

There was a video he did on a startup taxi service using self driving cars. Basically the entire thing was an advertisement for that company.
Then another Youtuber, Tom Nicholas, released a video about that a few months later and how it's an issue. I'll have to watch it again as I don't remember what he specifically talks about.

I see a k following the numbers, so I'm assuming that's total number of downloads.

You should. I've sunk over 200 hours into it. And those are rookie numbers.
Just know that it's buggy, even with the stability mods. RTGame's experience with the crashes in his playthrough is pretty on point.

I would recommend looking up Decree 770 that Romania enacted in 1967. I think we can expect a similar fallout to that if we choose not to help these kids.

That's what I remember reading, too. I think that particular area gets its own lymph node system or something like that. Similar to how our head and neck have their own dedicated system.
Those areas are prone to bacteria, so they get beefed up protections.

It would be cool to see a sequel to Control. I want to learn more about this universe. And to work more with Ahti.

Michigan has been on a pretty positive streak lately. Doing me a proud. I hope they maintain this momentum.

Romeo and (Rule)iet?

I would call it /c/ringe instead. Kind of like /r/thritis back on Reddit.

I pushed carts at a big box store for a year in my 20's. Fucking sucked. In an 8 hour shift you could easily walk 20,000+ steps and walk over 10 miles (GPS verified). And you do it no matter the weather. Pouring rain? Out there. Sweltering heat? Out there. -5F and 6" of snow? Out there.
This work can be brutal, even for a young healthy person, let alone a 90 year old vet.
The worst part? I was paid the exact same wage as the cashiers who stayed inside the entire time. About $10/hr on average in 2017.

Do The Hobbit first. Those LotR chapters get long.

I recommend going through them when you think of it. I occasionally go through mine when I remember, and every time I'm reminded why I saved every single one of them. They all make me laugh or smile in some way or another and can legitimately be a good pick-me-up when things are rough.

I think it would be better to think of it as, "Do we want everyone to have the same general idea of what 5pm means? Or to have everyone be on one time?"

Edit: I know it's an imperfect question as northern/southern latitudes can get dark sooner/later than the other pending the season. But 5pm to a Californian is going to feel very different than to a German if we're all on one time.
Those are just my thoughts, though.

While everything you said is valid (and I may or may not have done that), I legitimately enjoy the ripping process.

I never thought that in 10 years, we'd go from one of the coldest UP winters I'd ever seen to one of the warmest. This was my first Christmas and New Years in 30 years where I didn't see snow on the ground. It's sad to see.

I worry how this will mess with the following seasons. With the lack of ice, the lake levels drop faster because the water can evaporate. Pair that with liquid water's darker color, means it will heat up faster and evaporate that much more water.
The lack of snow means we'll have lower spring runoff than normal. So the lakes won't get replenished as spring arrives. This could send us into drought conditions really quickly.

All of this will lead to plummeting lake levels. I wonder if it'll reach the levels from 2007-2012.

I think Tim Sweeney is actually anti-linux for the consumer. Since the Deck runs on Linux, he has basically negative incentive for any of their games to run on it.

We're also really tired from our demanding jobs. Most of us also can't just suddenly take time off work to protest these things.
Plus it's effort driving from our homes to wherever the protests may be. I'm being partially facetious here, but these all play a factor in this.

Even then, this is still a solid 30-40% increase in downloads. That's statistically significant right there.

The two I've used are the one in the image (it's from Anker, I forget the model) and Logitech's MX Vertical (they have a second, smaller version if the original is too big). I've been maining the Vertical the past 4 years for work and personal use.
Both have pros and cons:
Anker is cheaper. ~$35 vs ~$80. Also has a built in slot to put the receiver in when not in use.
It curves with your hand more than the Vertical.
Anker uses easily replaceable AAA batteries. Usually lasted me about 3 months before I needed to swap them. I only used it for work though.

The Vertical can connect to 3 different devices (1 dongle, 2 Bluetooth) whereas Anker is limited to whatever the dongle is connected to.
The Vertical is made of better feeling materials; like a rubber for extra grip vs hard plastic with the Anker.
There's a USB C port to charge its (not easily replaceable) battery.
Edit: Vertical won't go to "sleep" like the Anker will. If the Anker isn't touched for X minutes, it will go to sleep and you'll have to click one of the switches to wake it. Otherwise moving it won't move the cursor. Not that huge of an issue, but definitely annoying if you don't know what's going on.

However, there is a design flaw with the Vertical. Logitech run their wireless mice at very low voltage and current to save on battery. That's how they get a 240 mAh battery to last for around a month of heavy use.
The problem with this is you need to use particular switches, otherwise corrosion starts to build up on the connectors. This corrosion leads to incomplete or missed clicks, phantom double clicks, or it's impossible to hold a click.
From what I remember, standard switches are designed for 5V, since that's what wired mice normally run at. But modern wireless mice operate around a tenth of that. Logitech never made the switch (heh) to switches rated for that low voltage. At least not when I bought mine.

My Vertical had that issue. And rather than buy an entirely new mouse, I went in, desoldered the old switches and replaced them with new ones (I think I went with Kale's light blue switches). I did that in summer '22 and haven't had any issues since.
The rubber material is also showing wear and tear where my fingers sit, but that's just cosmetic.

I got the Anker one for my mom holiday '22 and she's been happy with it. It helped the discomfort in her hand.
Both mice improved the stiffness in my right hand, so either one will get the job done. I will also say that there is a bit of an adjustment period. Surprisingly, changing the angle of your hand kind of throws you off and takes some getting used to. Before my office went remote, my coworkers would avoid using it because it wasn't easy for them to switch to for just a short period of time.

Hopefully this info is helpful. I can try answering any questions you have on them, but those are the only two I have experience in.

Edit 2: Phrasing

However, if you are set on upgrading, I'd look at any of their 6000 series, from the 6600 on up to the 6950XT. I don't recommend anything below the 6600 from that generation. Since you didn't give a price range, I gave you a GPU range. All of those GPU's are getting heavy discounts and they're all solid cards. Only thing to note is if you go for the 6800XT and above to make sure your power supply can handle it. While they weren't as bad as Nvidia, they could still suck down power.
I think I would personally recommend the 6700XT. I believe it has 12 GB of VRAM which will help it last longer in the coming years. 8 GB just doesn't cut it anymore.

It was still allowed in certain forms if I recall correctly. It's only really dangerous when it's an airbirne particulate. So if you used it in a way that didn't turn it into dust, then it was considered "safe" to use.
Interestingly enough, carbon fiber has the exact same dangers since it's molecular shape is nearly identical to asbestos. So don't breathe that in, either.

What if we gave them fur that glows under UV light? And then modify our headlights to give off just a little UV. Then when the light hits their fur, they glow!
Most predators don't have UV flashlights, so this should be a viable alternative.

I'd call them BJ's: Bean Jeans

I know you're being sarcastic but the cash for clunkers, while it worked pretty well, worked a little too well. Since that program it got harder to find cheap, old vehicles. Sure, they were inefficient, but they were cheap. Cheap cars don't seem to exist much anymore.

I thought the reason the pyramids looked like that was because of relatively recent looting the nicer stone on the surface and leaving the older stuff behind. Prior to the looting they looked pretty nice. And by relatively recent, I mean about a few hundred years ago during European colonialism.

One thing you could do to at least mitigate the issue is carry a set of ear plugs on you at all times. That's what I do and it's really helped me out in certain situations. It obviously won't solve the problem, but if it reduces the noise level, it should make it less irritating.

Let's see how long it will work; there's a reason almost no phone manufacturer includes that feature. Sony has it on some of their phones like the 5 IV. The problem is you can record for maybe a minute before the phone starts to overheat and has to stop recording.

It will get so hot a warning will pop up on screen telling you to watch where you touch the phone or you could burn yourself. Maybe Samsung will have figured out the overheating issue, but I expect it to be a problem.

Don't let your dreams be dreams

I gave to them once or twice before the pandemic showed up. It was something I wanted to do, but never could since I was never financially able to.
I stopped once I found an article showing that Wikipedia is not hurting for money at all, yet they kept groveling for money. I think it also said the CEO/owner was keeping a lot of the money for themself which I was not a fan of.

This is only the beginning. It's only going to get harder and harder to know what is and isn't real online.
Sure, you and I are aware of this and have an idea of what to look out for. But do my older parents or grandparents know about this stuff and what to look for? I seriously doubt it.

She also allowed the mistreatment of her two mentally handicapped cousins to continue until they died alone in mental institutions.

This is the big thing. There are multiple niche, and not-so-niche, subreddits that just don't exist here. Or they have nowhere near the presence as on Reddit.
Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to fix that by contributing where I can, but I am just one person.

Prices for the batteries and panels themselves have dropped. Just not the cost to install them.

Are we talking about the tenso memes of yore? Oh, boy, you'll be hard pressed to find one.
