Maybe not an alternative site, but an alternative perspective. Instead of looking at all items on lemmy, try finding and subscribing to communities that pique your interest, then viewing by subscribed communities.

I know it's not what you were specifically asking for, and it's a little more work than just sliding into another site, but it will give you the opportunity to weed out information you are not interested in.

That's from Draggin Ballz

Retroarch is fantastic and allows for many numerous emulators. It is FOSS.

I synch my roms and saves using Google Drive and DriveSynch; free, but not necessarily a FOSS process.

IDK about where the person you are replying to is from, but I see it as a viable strategy in the US. There are too many stories of children playing with guns and killing someone. Teaching firearm safety and demystifying them is like teaching sex ed.

Not having firearms everywhere is a better answer, but I can only control so much.

I'd buy them if they weren't more than $50

Just in case anyone needs to hear this, 12 hours ago was also too late.

I left Evernote about 2 years ago. It was clear at the time that free users were only in the way. I can't imagine it being any easier to use.

Which is the propaganda? The posts touting Chinese achievements in tech, or the posts saying to beware of the Chinese milestones?

Both.

Why do you think all this legislation is floating around about protecting our children?

Hint, it's motivated by protecting someone's profits.

That's not a terrible idea. They might even tell you that your emotions are not uncommon and give you some tips for dealing with it.

Or something else could be going on and you could get some more complete therapy.

Wow. You broke me with this. Thank you so much. Guess I needed it.

From experience, this is a stable streamlined process that is now easier than installing Windows.

Not as much any more. Most vehicles now just play the sound over the driver's door speaker. The blinking is a PWM. Lack of current draw results in the PWM firing faster.

It had better be baconpromise.

Edit: "I had..." makes no sense.

Are you talking about mobile OS? I can't imagine using Android as a desktop.

The biggest differences are the available packages and the that Android is typically heavily locked down to prevent user access.

I used this method. My dog used to get so rough that I was concerned that he was going to hurt someone.

Adding to it, when play stopped, I turned away and 'sulked' because body language means so much. Also, I added in a toy for tug of war, and whenever the play escaped the toy I said ow and play was done.

This took a few months to really sink in for the dog, but we got to the point where he would play, we would say to get a toy, and there was no more leaping for limbs.

Some long time later, we were to the point where I could hold his teeth for gentle tug of war, but he decided he didn't like my skin in his mouth.

Shins are pretty week. You should be able to kick right through them with less force than needed to hold up your body.

100% how I read their license page. It isn't like we are using it within another application, just literally using it as advertised. Unfortunately, the email came off as advising us that the software isn't intended for use without a business license so we are now investigating other options.

If he was really "One-Punch Man" he'd have wrapped it up in the first episode.

Just kidding! I'm also looking forward to it.

I use Google keep personally and one note professionally.

I suspect most of it leans heavily on ghostscript, so they are required to provide AGPL. They would like to obtain support contracts, so support requests are considered out of compliance unless they are paid. I find it interesting that they basically have AGPL+ were plus is whatever they have on their license page in addition to AGPL.

Pay wall, I guess, unless you paid for it.

Plus side is actual strong techniques.

Downside is irresponsible teachers, dangerous teaching practices and literal body dismorphia.

Yup. A child in my school was killed passing around a found handgun with his friends. I don't remember the details, but if one of those kids had said something and left it might never have happened.

Thanks for that. I think the US has lost its mind over guns, and the means are now the end.

It's part of our fear culture. We always have something to be afraid of, and providing guns is our security blanket.

I didn't see that. I got Oops All Asians when generating gay furry Nazis on Bing.

To answer further questions, it was in response to a post about how Russians are said to view Ukrainian.

Everyone here giving their hangover tips. I drank 2 BEERS from a six pack last night along with a large cup of electrolyte water and a full belly. I woke up nauseous and have carried a headache all day.

This is how I expected FOSS to function. If you get a chance, check out their license page, which directs prospective users to the AGPL and also has further restrictions on what users may not do.

I immediately thought of tubgirl.

I'll start!

It is year 1.4 on the asteroid and a copy of "The Individual in Question, Whose Inclinations and Affections Do Not Align with Your Expectations, Displays a Sufficient Lack of Interest Towards Your Personage, Consequently Resulting in the Verifiable Conclusion That They Are Not Enthusiastically Engaged in Establishing Any Form of Emotional or Romantic Connection with You." (Also titled, "He/She/They Are Just Not That Into You").

Yeah, installing from retroarch.com is fine.

There seems to be a thread open about this here:

I'm slowly collecting the things I will need to build a home NAS. That sounds interesting, and I'll be glad to check it out.

Just those disgusting mustard bloods, and the ones with lesser blue bloods.

I'll shill for brother because it's cheap, they don't lock out generic cartridges, prints well on the network from Linux, and seem to last.

What they are missing on compared to HP is parts support. However, the comparable HP printer with parts support is twice the price and the parts are almost the cost of a new cheap printer.

Lexmark is okay too, I guess.

That's cool. Looking again, the character in the image is Konoha, the main character in the anime. The dithering is an homage to one of the episodes.

True. I wouldn't hand my kids bb guns at 8. I'm also sure you don't hide dangerous items completely from your kids, and some way demonstrate using them responsibly.

I don't own any guns myself, so I used nerf rival guns to demonstrate safety to my children. Again, my biggest concerns are what to do with a found firearm, never point one at anything you don't want to shoot.

I also allowed them to hang out with Grandpa for an afternoon and familiarize themselves with firearms. If they were more interested in firearms, a bb gun would have been okay for them to take out to Grandpa's firing range. I'm only referring to a spring action device, and my children are a little older.

Thanks. It's good to hear someone outline what I was thinking. I'm frustrated that the support response made it sound like we shouldn't be using the software, but I guess I'll get over it.

I have been using Jellyfin for video. It runs great so far.
