Didn't know that one, looks rad

Hell yeah, SuperTuxKart

Don't worry, the basics are really easy to git get down, you can read any beginner guide to start trying it out, for example this one on baeldung seems pretty alright by a quick skim, or, if you prefer a more playful approach, definitely check out ohmygit.
If you want to try a git hoster as well, make a GitHub profile if you want to go where most everyone is, so you can also easily contribute to others' projects, otherwise, if you care about staying on a free platform, make an account on Codeberg, fewer people, but all great like-minded free software supporters

..or make one on both, ngl

Good luck! It can get complicated so I know how you feel looking at weird configurations that do magic

Me waiting for tagging filesystems to become the standard

Putting one directly under the home directory feels like a psychopathic move, so I stay by XDG and put them under a subdirectory of xdg-documents

Hmm yes, web dev horrors beyond my comprehension!

Yet another reminder that GitHub is not your friend, but also that borderline projects shouldn't be hosted on anyone else's server other than your own, you'll possess all the repository data, but you'll also be made to shut down anyway if on the clearnet, so I wonder if it's possible to host a forge through Tor/i2p or others.

Still, this is clearly wrong on who sent the DMCA, the apps never host the content, I hope they can get back up.

One of the founders of the website, God, is back

Damn, that's some divine providence!
Glad they had a happy ending

I wish it were, but it really isn't.
Social media is so everywhere it's even outside of social media.

Nice to see it's getting on with the times, it feels like they do a lot of heavy lifting behind the scenes, which is impressive, the web is a monster (math functions in CSS???), but user facing features have been kinda left in the dust for a long time now, like the highly requested vertical tabs, or desktop PWAs for instance.
I hope they'll make it more feature rich in the future, I still swear by it, but it's a pity seeing all these other browsers with shiny new features I can't ever use

Is it just me getting unreasonably irritated when the artist captions the things they're depicting, as if we're either too dumb to understand or they suck at making subtle references?

Basically it's the real equals sign perfection

And for our next sponsor, check out Raid Shadow of Mordor

Well, he has his own villain backstory to justify that... he simply didn't get paid

Based

..but this will realistically just spawn some new mirrors and proxies because the vast amount of projects hosted there definitely won't ever move away.

Anyway, I am doing my part! (With my irrelevant profile)

snap/flatpak >500mb

Don't know about Snap, but Flatpak download sizes decrease significantly after installing the main platform libraries, they can become really small; of course that's pretty much fully negated if you're installing Electron apps, but even then 500MB isn't very accurate, more like 150MB on average

flatpak run com.very.easy.to.remember.and.type.name

Yes I hate it, what is even more annoying is that you can do flatpak install someapp and it will search matches on its own, it shows them to you to let you decide, but after that you can't do flatpak run someapp because it "doesn't exist"

Wierd that they'd switch to GitHub though, ideologically at least, I would think they'd host their own servers and, at most, have a mirror on GitHub

To my knowledge the few laptops from the more famous brands I saw being released with Linux out of the box were coming with Ubuntu, can you make a few more examples?

Also Endless OS isn't really unknown, it's just that it's not suggested at all in most communities because its focus is more on making a kid friendly distribution, which is amazing, but it's not really what most people will be looking for

Yay! I petition to call it Duper

The real Bugzilla

I do use them in fact, but it's a little clunky and not as well integrated as it could be, just like the translations that they're adding in, I've already installed the addon they released before, but nothing beats having essential features built-in following the same UX as the rest of the browser and having centralized, easy to search for settings.

power user enough to need vertical tabs

More like I can't ever manage my own tabs so they keep piling up 😭
