I know lots of Americans who buy their phones without those stupid contracts. It's not uncommon at all. I have never have a phone on a contract.

I've had that freedom for the entire duration of the existence of smartphones, in the USA. I buy my phones with no contract, at discounted prices, then I flash them with custom ROMs to improve everything, and I use no contract cell phone service. Since about 2007, that is.

The only one of those responses you listed that might not make people upset is this one:

‘I don’t talk about religion, politics or my private life with coworkers and I hope you respect that’

All of the others are going to go over poorly, if you are concerned about that.

I think you cracked the case on that one, that's gotta be what it means.

It looks like an archery release, used by compound bow shooters to pull the bow string back and release with a trigger or button

I have actually done this too, I have pics of the darted roach somewhere. I think it took me 3 shots to get one to hit it.

The roach does not die from the dart, it's just going to keep moving until you pull it down and squash it or something. I wouldn't recommend it unless you just want to get some live target practice and need to kill a roach.

That's not a lot in this context of savings, just about 2 months' rent or less for a lot of people.

"Apple refuses to send money to security company inside of embargoed country, to maintain compliance with USA law."

Don't put yourself on a pedal stool like you know all the words in the world

Appeal to the Supreme Court and let them overturn the conviction on the History and Tradition grounds that there's no historical precedent from infringing on the gun rights of people on crack. 5th Circuit already ruled on this matter and acquitted the defendant on similar grounds, in the case USA v. Daniels.

And nothing of value was lost. I can't imagine ever wanting to read a tweet from somebody's console game.

3rd party ads lead to the roulette wheel of malware injection. M$ can't even keep the malware links off of their garbage MSN homepage on Edge. This would be an extremely dumb move, and they will do it anyway because it trades off security for money.

Journalism without education, that's a key tenet of Idiocracy

"I am not tipping" - what the fuck? Does anybody actually add a tip to their rent payments?

Investigate donations to those MO House members voting for this bullshit. Smells like Bayer Bribes, since this doesn't benefit the citizens of MO at all.

Might be a bad idea to mention "cutting off" anything to rioting French

Article really makes Tom Wright seem like a psycho piece of shit. Screaming at and placing hands on the staffers of the battered women's shelter in front of the bus full of battered women. He was issued a trespass warning by the police and told to stay away.

He's also stopping people from funding the shelter with evidenceless accusations of human trafficking. What a low down bastard, should have his kneecaps broken by a gang of battered women.

The electric boats that Obama is making us use are dangerous because of the weight of the batteries, and this will cause all boaterists to be dead from shark attacks. Should be obvious to all Americans who know what's going on.

It's what the Kool Aid man looks like under the costume

On my work PC it's painfully obvious that MS tracks every word you type into Teams and Outlook based on the clickbait shit they plaster all over the MSN homepage. It's always customized to include topics that were discussed in my work messages.

Nowhere in any of the Office365 land do you see a notification that they are analyzing everything you do, but it remains obvious that they are.

This leads to the reasonable conclusion that they will abuse your data for any avenue of profit.

Yes I have 2 of them.

FYI you should turn over each of your fire extinguishers at least once every 6 months to keep them working right. That means pick it up, rotate it upside-down, and let the stuff inside slide to the top, then turn it back over. I learned this from a fire inspector that I had to guide through a datacenter once.

Did you not know they're already selling your purchase data? All the card networks do it.

That's why you need to use cash to buy anything you don't want logged to create a data point about you to be sold

It seemed like a bunch of hype from the beginning to me. I looked up the specs of my old Motorola phone from 2017 back when 5G was a new topic, and the 4G LTE modem in that old phone is capable of 600Mb data speeds. But no 4G LTE connection ever gave me much more than 40-50Mb on speed tests.

5G rolled out and I have a 5G phone (not because it's 5G but because it's my new phone) and whenever I do a speed test, the results are no better than 4G LTE. But there was a trade-off for the "upgrade" to 5G - the cell towers for 5G have much less range than the 4G ones do. So not only do I receive no improvement in speed but the towers' range is downgraded.

$9 billion for 125k borrowers is $72000 per borrower

Would be nice if they would vanish the 40k in loans I have that I've been paying on since the Obama years. I've paid in far beyond the total amount I ever borrowed, while the compound interest just added it all back over the years. Progress has been very slow for me to pay that off, started payments with about 50k loans, after being ballooned up from the original principal from several years of economic hardship forbearance where the interest still gets capitalized.

This is how I feel about watching videos to learn something versus reading an article or a paper about the subject. I would almost always rather read about it than have to sit and listen to some awful youtuber blab about themself while dancing around the subject I had interest in.

Yep the real trick to accomplish what he attempted would have been to transfer it 7+ years ago.

You may be right in general, but none of that is a good excuse for a transactional sex life.

If I wanted to exchange services (labor) for sex, I could simply take the money earned from labor to purchase it from a prostitute. That is not what a marriage should be like.

I'm not a ban fan but social media like that is psychological cancer that is definitely harming the young and old mentally.

Kids growing up these days have the burden of the disgusting need for social media self-promotion. They are conditioned that attention and Likes are the most valuable social currency, and waste so much of their valuable youth pursuing that hollow bullshit.

I'm keeping my kids off social media for as long as I can so they can experience growing up without Cloud-automated peer pressure.

So how are they letting players in a tournament with mods turned on at all? Seems like a guarantee to allow cheating.

Also, I didn't expect Chun Li to be that thick but it makes sense but that's what it takes to kick 1000 times per second I suppose.

Well, he will find out soon enough with all these judges he's insulting and threatening. Maybe even this week

FYI it is a myth that fentanyl is dangerous to touch. By itself, it does not contain anything to cross the skin barrier. It has to be made into a skin-applicable version like a patch for that to work.

Basically all the fearmongering about people touching fentanyl and passing out or dying is fake news. It mostly comes from cops of course.

Yep the trump cult can all go piss up a rope, fuck their feelings. They fucked my feelings up the ass with all their goddamn stupid-ass bullshit for the last 6 years or so and I'm going to laugh in their fucking faces when that bastard goes to prison.

I hope the orange bastard gets 100 years and literally dies in prison. I would have never dreamed that a pathetic sore loser could convince so many people to brainwash themselves against reality, to the point that they attacked our Capitol. An example needs to be made of him to remind any imitators that you can't fucking do that.
